  • Spoiler Alert: For all of you with ansiety issues, you're more than welcome to fast forward til' 12:35 so you can watch when I'm start blending, but if you want to understand the differences between a vitamix and any other blender or specifically this model I'm comparing with, you're also more than welcome to watch the entire video
    "Thanks for watching"
    Everybody knows very well about Vitamix blenders, so this video is not about which is better, because we all know Vitamix is one of the Top of the line Blenders on the market. But this Oster Blender has gained my respect, and I just want to share this video with the only intention to show the people who "might not be able" to afford a Vitamix, that there's another options in the market. I might be wrong, but I think Oster Versa is much better than the latest Ninja model, or any other average price blender. This Oster versa, has the same 7 years warranty as the Vitamix, has a stainless steal blade and also the gear assembly was build in the same way as the Vitamix and somehow, they have the same look alike, but I want to be clear... they're not the same!
    IMO, nobody could overcome the quality of the Vitamix, but I'm sure, the Oster Versa is WAY BETTER than Ninja blender.

    I use both. Vitamix is fast and best, but way more money. Good for professional use. But ostsr is a great buy, much less money, and will do a great job if you blend longer. Much longer. But it works. I use a $45 oster and it can even make hot sauce from whole peppers and spices. Just start blending with only 1/4 full to grind seeds. Use little liquid at first, then add more. Cant beat oster products.

      Ice Man, that is one of the benefits of purchasing a Vitamix...they seem to last forever. I purchased my first Vitamix in 2001 and although I've updated it three times, my original one, the 5000 still performs as well as it did when originally bought it. Throughout the year's I’ve upgraded due to features and newer technology, but these things just do not break. I recently purchased the A3500 which is why I started looking on RUclips for videos from other Vitamix owners; this is how I came across your review. Even today, your 750 Pro is considered one of Vitamix’s most renowned blenders even among other Vitamix owners. Thanks again for your review and the update. I’m curious, is the Oster still functioning?

    Thank you for making this video! I own a Vita-mix but want to buy a blender for my Mother and don't have the money for another Vita-mix, so this was VERY helpful!
    It looks like you had it on high speed too soon, though. Normally I keep mine on a much lower speed for about 20-30 seconds first, just to be sure most of the ingredients are chopped up first. Then I slowly increase speed. You don't need the tamper (as much or at all depending on how full the jar is) if you do it like this. I would think probably the same method would work for that Oster as well. :)
    GREAT JOB on this video! I really appreciate that you took the time to do this. Vitamin is my first choice but I am now considering the Oster Versa.

      Can I ask why the Vitamix is better than the Oster?

    • @Hieloxx
      @Hieloxx  Год назад

      Hi there,
      I think this question depends on the preferences of the person who use it, because the old fashioned Oster it’s very popular for the old “oster customers”
      But the difference with the Vitamix it’s pretty much the power of the engine and it’s components.
      I don’t know where it’s been assemble the Oster Blender, but Vitamix it’s an American company with more than half century of experience building hight quality blenders, and they are all assemble in the US. They also come with 7 years of warranty, and if they happen to have a safety recall, they will inform to the owners and they will replace whatever they need to replace under no cost.
      Vitamix it’s a family owned company.
      I hope this info it’s what you were looking for 👍

    I have an Oster Versa and the Oster 12 speed, and the Vtiamix and I prefer the Vitamix. But at least I still have recourse with the other two IF my Vitamix ever breaks down. What I like about the Vitamix is there are no parts to remove, you can wash as you use and no need for switching blade, but you can get the dry container which is for gringind flours fresh and other things, like coffee etc. My Oster Versa comes with two different blades, one for grains for making flours and one for fruits and veggies to make smoothies etc.

    Thank you! It's the kind of video I was looking for! I've seen everywhere the vitamix is the best option, but it's not affordable for me.
    I wouldn't worry about the time you spent on each blender, I don't know if the Versa stayed longer could have also made the smoothie smoother (lol), but it surely does a very good job. The difference wasn't much.
    I've been with Oster the most part of my life and I'm satisfied with the blenders I've had, I think I would keep my eye on a Versa and later I would go for a Vitamix if I can spend on one. Thanks so much!

    Hi ! thank you very much indeed for this very excellent review. I like the Oster Versa stainless stell cutting assembly. Do you know maybe if the two blenders' cutting assemblies are compatible ? i am asking this because given the extraordinary success of the Vitamix a lot of not original but good spare parts are available. In particular the very key part of any mixer, after the engine ... the cutting assembly. In this way it could be also possible to experiment with blades of different design i guess to find the optimal one. Thanks again. gino

      You should consider to buy a blender based on your budget, but if you want my personal opinion if you can afford a Vitamix, go ahead and get one, the convenient one my cost you around $450, and maybe $400, and if you get other brands, theres not much difference. In this case, The Oster versa is definitely a good option, but if you want a good quality blender, get the Vitamix, or the Blendtec , in that order.

    I guess the only difference between Vitamix 5200 vs Oster Versa is like 70 bucks, if you can spend that difference, get the Vitamix 5200,you'll love it, but the Versa is Awesome,for the "$" is a great choice

    Hi, just a word of recommendation, the tamper tool should not be left in the blender while blending, it will interrupt the vortex and the ingredients will be prevented from being sucked down towards the blades. With the tamper left in the ingredients just spin around and this overheats the motor and requires longer blending.

    how does the tamper on the Oster work with small things like peanuts or seeds for butters? I mean to say that without the blunt bottom, does the what appears to be an "X" at the bottom of the tamper for the Oster let the small pieces slip through and not allow the bottom of the tamper to force it into the blades? Also is there a problem with the sides of the container and the "X" shape of the tamper? Thanks

    • @Hieloxx
      @Hieloxx  9 лет назад

      Hey there!!!
      The "X" tamper like you call, does the same job as the Vitamix tamper, why?
      Because is just a tamper, but here's the thing..
      I Haven't seen any other blender besides Vitamix and Oster who's actually include a tamper, so for that reason these Oster Versa its a "Must"
      And yes, you can triturate small pieces with no issues,and the good thing is that Oster came out with a new version of the Versa, so good luck!

    • @pazios2002
      @pazios2002 9 лет назад

      ***** I was wondering if the fact that the bottom appears to be a crisscross rather then round and blunt, if that gave problems with pieces escaping the tamper and sliding up the sides rather then into the blades. I haven't seen the blender in person yet so I cant see for my self. I went to Kohls but that particular Kohls didn't sell that particular Oster. I am going to keep looking. I use a vitamix but would like to offer a less expensive alternative to the Vitamix for those who get sticker shock. But I was concerned about this particular point about the Tamper's bottom shape. Thanks.

    I hope this was enough information to make you decide what's your choice. However, be aware about the price of the Versa, cause I guess right now, the Oster Versa is around $400. When I bought it, it was a initial promotional day, because it was just "introduced" to the market, so I guess that's why I paid $300 and I bough it in Kohle's
    (I guess that's the name) but I went today to the same store, and now is $400.

    The Oster has a higher profile than the Vitamix. The noise level is about the same. Vitamix sounds like a hefty outbound motor while the Oster has a more high pitch sound. 50/50 flip a coin but if you want a more manly sound like guys liking Harleys, then choose Vitamix.

    Ice man could you do the test over again this time using the two smoothie buttons instead? Also make sure that the tamper is removed once it gets blending? Blending only really occurs while the tamper is removed on each models. In this video it was 10 seconds for the vitamix and 31 seconds for the versa. You were honest about the difference in time. Also could you make peanut butter or sunflower seed butter in the versa. Both should be made with roasted nuts or seeds and no added oil. People who are allergic to nuts use Roasted Sunflower seeds. Thanks Ice Man.

      Hello "Pazios2002"
      Thanks for your comment, Unfortunately, i'm overseas now, far away from US lol
      but also I had the chance to sell my Oster Versa to a friend who really loved that blender, and as far as I know , she haven't had any issue at all with the
      "buttons option", she does a lot of good stuff. The only think i'm not sure is the latest versions of the versa, because this one was the very 1st gen Oster versa, and when I purchased this one, was almost $350 or something, and I got it from Kohls. Now, the new model might be as good as this one, but i can asure you that you can make peanut butter or even sunflower seed butter in this Oster Blender. I make this video more than a year ago, and both blender were immaculate at the moment of the video, so they were brand new, obviously they are amazing machines..
      I hope this info can help you in what you're looking for..
      maybe when I get back to my home in US, I might try to make more videos, with against my 1+ year old Vitamin 750 PRO, hahaha

    It looked to me like the Oster had a higher capacity. It pureed faster. And the Amazon reviews of vitamix have pictures of teflon flakes in smoothies. Yet, the reviewer and the comments still continue to say of course the Vitamix is better. Why? Just because it is more expensive? Reputation? Maybe the Vitamix is more durable long term but I think they're riding on their name, and I'd never get one due to the risk of the teflon problem. They shouldn't have sold so many with that problem.

    Thank you for the video, I was trying to save for a vitamix but is is around $400, I didn't know they sell this at kohl's, usually get 30% off coupon plus you get kohl's cash, so I think ill give it a try. It will be around $200 instead of $400.

    I have a Blendtec and love it, but I have to admit, I am impressed by what I'm seeing out of the Oster. It definitely does seem like a contender, especially at a price of $250. Although I hate that Oster copied Vitamix's design; as long as they are copying the VM's design, it will always feel like a "poor man's Vitamix".

    If you're an occasional blender user, then obviously don't spend $500 for a Vitamix. There's plenty of decent cheaper blenders. But if you make smoothies almost every day like I do, and you use whole fruits and veggies, then DEFINITELY look no further than a Vitamix. It is by far the best, most durable blender I have owned.

    • @willchu
      @willchu 8 лет назад

      +Quisquellano26 Durability is irrelevant because both carry a 7 year warranty, and depending where you bought it. You can return it back to Costco ANYTIME if you're not satisfied with your purchase. At the end of the day, I can't see how anyone can justify paying for a machine that cost 4x more, when you can buy one that performs the same for 4x less.

    Hi there, unfortunately I don't have it with me right now, but I guess you wrote me days ago about an issue with you Oster. The only thing that I'm sure, is that any Versa it's been build the same way,they don't have different versions of the Versa, it's only ONE Versa,so if you have a problem with it, you should be able to return it and get it fixed or even better, get another one. I hope this information would help you with your question.

  • @Hieloxx

    The Oster Versa has the same amount of power than my Vitamix 750 PRO (around 2.2HP)
    and I guess both has the same speed, like 28000 rpm, and yes... You can cook soup with the Oster. For the price is very good machine, but f you have the money to purchase any Vitamix, would be a great investment. But at the end, both has the same lifetime warranty, the only difference will be on your eye and your taste.

    The Vitamix I have here is the Vitamix Professional Series 750,it came with a 4" Blade,lower size and wide,so it'll fit anywhere,self cleaning option,Stainless Steel made ect
    Is the Top of the line,it cost $690 if you buy it on the "Vitamix" website, and I guess,for that price...

    My personal opinion:
    1* Go for it!!! Get the Versa at "that price" because is a good deal
    2* If you can afford any Vitamix, then go get it..
    3* If you haven't decided yet, make your own test, and see which one you like, but at least you will get the Oster Versa for a good price!
    Good luck..

    I would like to see do oster versa vs ninja ultimate

    • @Hieloxx
      @Hieloxx  9 лет назад

      I think without a doubt, that if your main priority is "budget" and just get a blender who does the job, regardless the time you might spend, then get the Ninja..
      Now, if you really wants something more like just a kitchen appliance, then get the VitaMix, because this is a really great machine who does "Everything", so if you get something like a Vitamix in your kitchen, it would be more like a Kitchen equipment, more professional, and the cheapest Vitamix i guess its like $400.
      But even better, the ninja ultimate is like $250, maybe more depending on taxes, and theres another great blender machine, and is cheaper than Vitamix, but more expensive than Ninja, and theta the Blendtec, I guess you can find a good one for $350..
      In this situation, is when Oster Versa came to the show, because for the price you pay for the "Versa" you will get almost the same quality as you get with a Vitamix, the result will be the same, but the quality is "pretty close"
      and for the money you pay, it's way better than purchase a Ninja, and now, the new version of the "Oster Versa" is even better..
      But one thing is for sure,
      I'm afraid that Ninja will loose the challenge against the Versa!
      Simple as that..

I currently keep the Vitamix Professional 750, because i had the money tho spend in the time i decided to buy it, but if i wouldn't have the Vitamix, I would still keep the Versa..
