It's quite intense driving a small loco as you have a lot to think about. Fire, water, pressure and not running into the person in front 😀 but great fun when it's all working well.
@@julias-shed I built a very powerful 5in 0-6-0 tank which is a great passenger hauler. It has steel wheel rims, radiant super heaters, case hardened valve gear etc. I'm now 83 and find it to heavy to handle in and out of the car, so will have to sell 😭
@@julias-shed I'm currently building a 3.5 Juliet with Baker valve gear, I can handle that! If you hear of anyone who wants a good passenger hauling loco please let me know.🥰
Julia, I know you have mentioned it in a previous video, but that water-gauge is somewhat unsettling. You have mentioned that the bottom of the glass is below the level of the crown sheet, and the need to keep the water bobbing in the top half of the glass. Might I suggest a brass sleeve around the bottom half, to blank it off. If not for you, then for the benefit of others who may drive this engine.
@@julias-shed Really? It looked very big to be a dribbler... I shall have to take another look. I did wonder because the splashers aren't perforated, though that could have been a scale issue. As a table top it would certainly look nice in plain brass, it just needs a polish 😁
@@johnbaguley1654 Thank you, as a 4-2-2 it fooled me. Looking at pictures of the two I can see why, the Sterling pierced splashers definitely mark a difference I could see, though the more knowledgeable would probably spot it at a glance.
Fantastic video Julia
Your loco sounds and runs beautifully now what a big difference
Some lovely locos running there 👍🏻👍🏻🚂🚂
Thanks Glen she ran perfectly 😀 and a great day was had.
Nice to see it working, fabulous
Thanks Tony she ran like a dream 😀
Lovely video! Great to see the catepillar run. I've got to check out this association
A great group of people and a fabulous resource www.n25ga.org/
Steam engines is so beautiful. I love the smell. Great video

Thanks Kev the sunshine was a nightmare for filming but very welcome compared to the forecast rain 😀
That was a good run Julia. Did you notice an improvement. Sounded very good 👍 Well I enjoyed it anyway ☺️ Cheers Nobby
She ran perfectly 😀 thanks Nobby glad you enjoyed it.
Looks to have been a nice day I was sorting out my dad's house or I would have been there
It was really really nice thanks 😀 Caterpillar will be at the Midlands Model Engineering show on the 2.5" gauge association stand.
That caterpillar is seriously fast! Quite exhilarating to watch, must be even more so when driving it?

Lovely little engines and difficult to build with very little space between the frames.
Glad you enjoyed it, they don't weigh as much as a 5" locos though so that's a big advantage 😀

@@haroldpearson6025 that’s a shame 😳 maybe try garden railway live steam? That can be a lot of fun

Hi Derek that is on the list. I didn't have a lot of time to prepare for Rugby. I tend not to let others run my locos anyway 😀
Is that an unpainted Sterling Single? I hope it gets a paint job because it will look gorgeous.
It's what was known as a Birmingham Dribbler which are table top toys. I think David likes it in the bare brass. 😀

@@TheOwlman I was talking to the owner David - it's a Midland Spinner
It's all brass including the wheels. 😀
