I remember seeing the same watch in the private room at my AD and it sure is amazing.

I had a similar experience in Hong Kong when I noticed 3 diamond set date- days on display with an AD and said to the saleslady they were not for sale. To my surprise she told they were and asked me if I would like to try them on. I spent the next two minutes looking at them then I declined her offers because there were no price tags with these watches. I think I had made a right decision! Btw, at the same time, there was also a white gold sub for sale at my local AD for £34k which I also declined to buy. I think precious metal Rolexes are much readily available to obtain these days as they're pass watches.
Rolex makes most their money off these precious metal watches, but i guess if you like it you like it

That’s quite an impressive piece. Nice weight too. I tried on a rose gold Cartier Américaine at Heathrow and the difference to steel is very noticeable.

Since you are from outside of Europe (i am assuming this because you converted euros to Australian dollars), did you use the tax free option? Because you can get a big “discount” by getting the taxes (which are 23% by the way) of the watch returned to you, i’m not quite sure but I believe that you have to do something at the airport with a document provided from the store to get the money from the taxes returned to you.

I find the watch a little too "blingy" for my tastes, I have Rolex steel versions, but the model is historic and if it fits your wrist perfectly, that's great.
For the amount, yes it's huge, and not many people can spend it on a whim. If your wife, children if you have any, family, lack nothing, and you can enjoy yourself at this level, I am happy for you, you are blessed and are not wrong to take advantage of it.

love the watch but 36mm ? for me thats to small what about resale if you want to sell it

How you claimed the tax back at the airport
When you buy the watch you ask for tax free, and then once you arrive in the airport you go to balcony that says tax free. It's very simple.
