thats the problem with the card, i am not sure if should keep my goldi`s i have, i actually expect a ban for this card sometimes around next year probally after the second innistrad set or the set after that, depends how dominant he stays, but man the stonks right now

Wait The Blackstaff of Waterdeep is an artifact? lol I disregarded it in spoilers because I assumed it was a bad creature (The person holding it in the art is also called The Blackstaff, that's her title) and I haven't seen it played. It makes much more sense now.
As the video appeared, I had my copy of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist open to the page with the Blackstaff's stats (I'm currently running it as a DM). Good timing.
Oooh I love it, this is the sorta Magic that my heart yearns for, animating a Portable Hole into a creature, I like to imagine it moving along the ground like in Looney Toons and making stuff fall or trip into it.
I can hardly believe how good this deck is right now lol. Whats even better is that the deck still has a huge upper end on how much it can improve. Even just Book of Exalted Deeds unbanning, a big mana artifact/vehicle, or lands with abilities could give a monster top end without sacrificing much of the early presence. Another fantastic and unique deck.
@@danielwappner1035 Plow adds 3 white and gains 3 life. The mana can be used to either play the Book or activate it's ability, while the 3 life is exactly enough to trigger its other ability. So with an ideal start of Plow into Ox on turn 3, you can play the Book, make an angel, then next turn go for the combo if you already have Faceless Haven on the bf.
this was a fun list, the blackstaff and raven alone is very strong indeed. id like to see how you build a deck focused around Delina dice rolling extravaganza!
What about treasure vault? As an artifact land it would dodge some removal if activated with the staff. Plus if you had a bunch of mana from the plows you could sac it into a big treasure and artifact burst that would change the math on the artificers (by +1+1 at least)

LVD or anyone in the community. I'm running mono-green standard 2022 and do pretty well but angels keeps beating me. I added one copy of that flying/artifact kill instant, but I'm afraid if I add any more removal I'll lose my aggro advantage. Any ideas on if I can hope to beat Angels in Bo1s with a tweak or should I just hold my list and suffer those losses?
You probably don't want too many narrow cards like that. According to the Untapped statistics I have for that matchup (appears to be 50/50) the best performing cards are your fight spells, adding Inscription on top of Blizzard Brawl should suffice.
Im interested - why 5 plains and 7 islands even when "color balance" in deck is more white sided them blue? Or this is because main source of white coat there is Call and we want to cast it with our three mana from plow, when Staff and his ability is blue and we want it over our white cards?
I played this deck the other day with my black white cleric deck. Not sure if it was you or not. I think I won because they couldnt get rid of my Righteous Valkyrie and things got out of control but i immediately thought the deck looked really cool. I agree the Armed and Ready or whatever seemed a little redundant. I feel like a mana sink could be useful since you were often left with nothing to use the extra mana from the plow on. Not sure what to do with it though.
I had a very similar artifact deck before The Book of Exalted Deeds got banned in the 2022 queue. I'll try it again after rotation, but the point is the plow mana is perfect for the book, as is the lifegain.

Question. How do you guys not constantly fight ugin decks. I keep trying to enjoy mtg arena and I build 3 decks a day. No matter what I almost always go against am ugin deck every single match.
@@3quin0xflame19 Ugin isn't a widely played card in Historic nowadays. A lot of decks can kill on turn four, before Ugin has a chance to hit the battlefield. If you're in the Play queue it might be matching you against those decks based on deck composition, so try a different deck or a different queue. Historic Brawl is also fun and while Ugin is still legal there you're less likely to face it in a singleton format.
Oh those poor rogues. I'm trying to jam that deck as well but it's just weak... The meta doesn't like a deck who's creatures aren't disposable value fodder.

Commander treasure and dragon decks are driving the price of goldspan imo. Its a great standard card but it doesnt seem ban worthy to me.

Tried with treasure vault, it performed. 4/4 attacker turn 3 one game, Opp never recovered. Frequently activated ingenious smith

Ugin is no longer in Standard, so I'm not sure what format you're playing.
