I learnt about the course of facial nerve in middle ear and exits through the stylomastoid foramen giving several branches such as to posterior belly of digastric, stylohyoid, parotid gland (2 branches on entry)- temporofacial and cervicofacial branch which forms a nerve plexus from which 5 terminal branches are given off.
