Main guys I trust for reviews . I was wondering why your review came out last. After all the other reviews dropped the same day , claiming they were “ too scared to hit top speed” , then solar sent the scooter without all its parts. They always left the scooter in kph to make it seem faster, pay attention to the little things when interested in a new scooter & just wait on ESG to review. I’ll be posting full speed and testing as well. Good review 🤘🏾.
Thank you so much! It pained me to wait this long to publish the video. We had the scooter first, but really felt I needed to understand what was going on with top speed. Otherwise, I just didn't want to publish. -Paul
Great comparison guys, love the shoot out at the end! It's doubtful that I would need to do 60mph on anything without a door on it but, if I need to, I appreciate you narrowing it down for us all. Great job!
Outstanding review. Covers just about everything. Lots to like about this scooter. For all that it offers, I like the fact that it's still mostly portable (you can pick it up). The split rims/tubeless is a quality feature. Your comments about water resistance highlights one of areas in which more work needs to be done industry wide - especially at the high end. If they can make split rimmed tubless, they should be able to seal up that battery compartment and motor in a way that'll keep water out. If a person is spending $3k+ they shouldn't need to worry about riding in wet conditions. It would also be nice to have that UL certification. But as you said, the majority of scooters don't fully comply in that area. This scooter has a lot to offer. Again - very good and comprehensive review. P.S. Try to find a speed test area with fewer semi trucks 😂
For those difficult screws get a good size neodymium magnet and stick it to the tool. Since it is metal the magnetic charge will go thru the handle and hold the bolt
They've been working on this one for almost a year now. Is there an exact scooter that you think shares this design, or it's just similar to other scooters you've seen. -Paul
ISooo looking forward to the Teverun fighter supreme ultra video!! I've been waiting a while for this one, so I'm extremely excited!! I'm glad you guys are confirmed getting it. Will you guys be getting it before 2024 is over?
Thank you so much for your patience. We won’t be getting it in 2024 for sure. I can usually see about 1 to 3 months ahead and it’s not on the calendar yet. I feel more confident now than before that we’ll actually get one, but even then I’m only at about 60% that we get one before March. -Paul
I am looking to purchase Solar Hyperion. Big Pros: 1. Split Rim 2. No Damper on a Hyper Scooter 2. GPS Turn by Turn on display (Phone required) Con: 1. The kickstand is causing a dent in the scooter during shipping. No one wants a $3,000 scooter to show up with a nick/dent in the side. I noticed it on a few videos.
your other video, versus the black dude when y'all had those two black scooters you had to plug your phone into the USB and then turn the scooter on for the charge. I saw in this video it didn't charge. Is that the method you have to use for this scooter?
I need a throttle like this one. How do I fit this style of throttle on my Apollo City Pro 2024? I hate going fast over bumps and my thumb not being wrapped around the grip (dangerous). Same with the regen brake throttle... really wish it was designed to allow the thumb to be somewhat wrapped around for safety reasons.
Good question. I can't remember, are the throttles locked in, or can you loosen, rotate and tighten back down? Depending on which version you have, they probably route the cables through the bars. In that case you wouldn't be able to rotate the levers independent of the bars. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thanks, Paul! Just loosened & rotated it right now per your suggestion. Can only rotate about 45-deg. Hopefully that works for now. Great vid, and love your channel and presentation style! You're my favorite scooter review pro!
Thanks so much for what you do Paul. You're the best. So have this in silver and have been waiting for this one. Positives... it's weight, throttle response, quickness, stability, and braking. Negatives... disappointed in top speed, I don't think it's ip rated 66 as I ended up with almost 1/4 inch of water in the deck after being caught in a LIGHT rain. This caused electrical issues. Had to open the deck and in order to get the battery out the tron light broke on the tail plate. the Display wouldn't read mph till they gave me an updated one. Still can't connect to app but its pretty accurate now. I didn't know it had traction control as it's not mentioned on web site at all. All that said I need a back up and it's between the mars xtr and the rx7. I know you hate giving your opinions on such matters but man would I appreciate it! Lol. The rx is so damn sexy but the leaky steering damper, stem issues, and luminor issues have me worried and it's more than the xtr. I've droned on. But thanks for the great review!
Thank you so much. The thing about steering dampers is they all leak. Or at least the ones that cost less than $300. I've given Solar feedback on my impressions of water resistance and I expect it will improve for the next batch. The XTR and RX7 ride very very differently. I really like both,. The RX7 is smoother than the XTR in every way, but especially throttle response. The XTR just wants to shred the front tire and requires a very controlled thumb to ride in top performance mode. The XTR's suspension travel is a bit shorter and stiffer, but I like the way it works for the road. I really like both, but they are opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of smoothness, with the Hyperion and RX-7 being much more similar. The RX-7 has updated the luminescent stuff from what I've heard, but I haven't seen the new stuff first hand. -Paul
Very cool video I love your content I'm thinking about getting another electric scooter can you tell me if the Hyperion has regen breaking and if that is adjustable at all thanks
Hi Paul!🙋 I don't want to criticise this scooter.. Only thing i want to say about "power" and your filling that cuts at top speed... The cells they uses are Samsung 48G with max discharge 9.6a (say 10a) The pack has 8 cells in parallel... So max discharge of the pack is 80a Controllers are 55a each!! So battery with 80a for a few seconds can't fuel 2 controllers that needs 110a..!!! That's why you are feeling something cuts top speed... Same cells, same mistake made Teverun with the first Supreme scooters and after 6 months (to New Supreme) change the cells of battery packs with LG M50LT...😘
Great feedback. I was speaking with a scooter designer today who was pointing out the same thing. This makes sense because the performance isn’t quite what I would expect it to be for 110 amps! -Paul
Good point! It gets 32.2 lbs lighter with the battery removed. So that makes it lighter than the Hyperion with the battery out, but the way the GTR folds makes it awkward to carry. -Paul
9:28 No quick disconnect? no problem! cut the wire, solder on some as150 bullets for the phase wires, a 5 pin higo for the hall sensor wires, and boom. We have quick disconnect at home
Oh wow, that was ages ago. Yeah we did a first impressions video but never came back to it for a full review. We've since given that scooter away. Sorry about that. -Paul
Too early to tell from direct testing. I have a reliability score spreadsheet that automatically scores every scooter based on 11 reliability and serviceability factors in the database: warranty length, parts availability, battery brand, tubeless vs tubes, split rims vs not, IP rating etc. The Dualtron Storm gets 7.4/10 vs 8.8/10 for the Hyperion. I don't assign the scores, just the criteria and importance-level of each score and then the spreadsheet automatically calculates the score for every scooter in our database. -Paul
Hello new to your channel great content, I'm new to escooter, I realized a few things. protective gear is a must, but I need something easy to put on and off, can you consider reviewing protective gear like, knee and elbow pads, also flexible ones and easy to get on and off fast. I have already encountered from Brocken road causing me to fall which hurts by the way, sorry for long comment, but please help give me some good advise, thanks in advance
That's a great subject, and we really should cover it. I haven't done much research on scooter-specific gear since when I'm testing, I tend to wear the same brands of motorcycle gear I've been wearing for 30 years now, which is ridiculously expensive for scooter riding. The suit I wear slides on in less than a minute and can even be worn over a business suit (I used to do it often when I commuted to silicon valley.) My gear is horribly expensive though, but serves dual purposes for me, since I bought it for commuting. I wear an Aerostich R3 (it was around $1,300 when I got it), and Arai Corsair helmet (about $1k), Held Phantom II gloves ($350) and I should be wearing my $250 hiking boots, but for some reason I keep filming in my slip-on Converse hightops, which for sure would fall off in a crash. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide wow it sounds so awesome, but as a single dad on a budget, maybe you could look into it a little, some are flexible and some are not. but i tried looking it up, and not 1 escooter channel has taken the time to review protective gear, it seems rather important...
Is the ZT3 Pro a good scooter because I am debating about it. The only thing holding me back is the speed because I wish that it went 30-35 so if you know any scooters less than 1k that could be off-roading and that has good suspension, along with intelligent features. Thank you.
I was going to say yes until you got to intelligent features. It’s hard to beat the app-feature-set of the ZT3 if you like scooter tech. There are some super fast scooters for cheap that have great performance like the Teewing GT4, but it’s not high tech at all and no app. Check out the ride finder on the electricscooterguide website. -Paul

Thanks for commenting. The other reviews are wrong about this. If you look at the wrench in their reviews it's the same wrench and it doesn't fit the shocks, it fits the steering bearings. I was confused about this too at first. -Paul
awesome price to performance but one thing that really bothers me with these high power scooters, especially coming from the kaabo gtr why are none of them adopting the dual stem design? It's so much safer, it's actually the reason I refuse to buy any of them, because kaabo has spoiled me or at least come with a steering damper out of the box at least...? can't be that expensive to include for free... still hoping for a high power scooter to come out with it someday(that is not kaabo), this was not the one unfortunately haha
The Teewing Mars XTR is another new favorite dual stem. I don't mind single stems if the geometry is good. Scooter companies are starting to really understand the rake and trail numbers they need to make a stable scooter. I've ridden scooters that felt unstable at 30 miles per hour, but the Hyperion was well behaved at 60mph. I definitely don't recommend that anyone try it though. Losing your concentration on any scooter at that speed can be a real problem. -Paul

@@3dandyrandy3 I looked at all the reviews and it goes back to Inmotion, especially since i live in Miami and is mostly road that I will be using it for.
I have the inmotion rs and absolutely love the thing, build quality is top notch and the main reason i chose the rs is because of its beefy and overbuilt controllers. hyper scooters especially sine wave controlled ones have issues with burning the controllers out, gtr has this issue pretty bad. the rs's controllers are the last thing that will fail on it. just dont get the midnight version, its slower than the other yellow or blue ones for the same price
$3,300 scooter with a 40ah battery and they give you one 3A charger?? Did they really need to get you for another $90 for a 2nd charger 🙃 Maybe it's just me coming from e-bikes, But 6A charging on a 40ah battery is not great in 2024 almost 2025 😂 A battery of this size should be able to charge at 10A easily.
I wear it for ballast. My standard testing weight is 165lbs, but I actually weigh about 6lbs less than that, so I carry extra weight to keep the data tight. Weight doesn’t affect top speed though if your runway is long enough. Top speed is mainly a function of power and frontal area. Heavier people tend to have more frontal area, but the backpack doesn’t add to frontal area. -Paul

@@atrackstar123 Any place that has pedestrians shouldn't exceed 18 MPH for safety. They've done studies on it in Europe.
-Paul
I love your content man keep it up
Thank you so much! -Paul
Great comparison guys, love the shoot out at the end! It's doubtful that I would need to do 60mph on anything without a door on it but, if I need to, I appreciate you narrowing it down for us all. Great job!
Me either! That said, the acceleration of a 60mph scooter, even from 0 to 30 is a lot of fun! -Paul
Letsssssssss goooo 😎 happy Thanksgiving
You too!
@ thanks 👏🏽
Ha ha! Thanks so much. It’s so hard to find a 1 mile straight that’s flat to within a few feet! I have two of them and this is the safer one. -Paul
For those difficult screws get a good size neodymium magnet and stick it to the tool. Since it is metal the magnetic charge will go thru the handle and hold the bolt
Great tip! I was a professional mechanic for more than 15 years... how did I not know this one! -Paul
This appears to be an Alibaba/Aliexpress scooter design that Solar modified to meet their design philosophy (as with most of their products).
That what every single scooter is😂😂
They've been working on this one for almost a year now. Is there an exact scooter that you think shares this design, or it's just similar to other scooters you've seen.
-Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuideLikely similar. It does use a few parts from other scooters.
Solars past scooters have all been rebranded Chinese scooters but this is their first in house built scooter.
Love the vids! What’s the name of the app or website you guys use to track the speed and acceleration of the scooter?
ISooo looking forward to the Teverun fighter supreme ultra video!! I've been waiting a while for this one, so I'm extremely excited!! I'm glad you guys are confirmed getting it. Will you guys be getting it before 2024 is over?
Thank you so much for your patience. We won’t be getting it in 2024 for sure. I can usually see about 1 to 3 months ahead and it’s not on the calendar yet. I feel more confident now than before that we’ll actually get one, but even then I’m only at about 60% that we get one before March. -Paul
We need a code with 20% off lol, great review and the scooter seriously looks cool
Thanks so much! In my Pawn Stars voice: “The best I can do is 12%”
Use code ESG12 to save 12%!
-Paul
I am looking to purchase Solar Hyperion.
Big Pros:
1. Split Rim
2. No Damper on a Hyper Scooter
2. GPS Turn by Turn on display (Phone required)
Con:
1. The kickstand is causing a dent in the scooter during shipping. No one wants a $3,000 scooter to show up with a nick/dent in the side. I noticed it on a few videos.
Solid scooter for sure!
Ahhh the RX7 does have a battery management app, which is an app just not designed by Roadrunner.
Good point. I’ve used it. I didn’t feel like it should count. Thanks for watching and for your feedback! -Paul
a Rainy Day in the ESG Playground. Hi Paul!
Hello there!
Navi Tires rule the road!
your other video, versus the black dude when y'all had those two black scooters you had to plug your phone into the USB and then turn the scooter on for the charge. I saw in this video it didn't charge. Is that the method you have to use for this scooter?
You have a great memory! I tried that here too. It’s possible there is some other trick, but that trick didn’t work here. :-)
-Paul
Yes it has regen
Hi Paul!🙋
I don't want to criticise this scooter.. Only thing i want to say about "power" and your filling that cuts at top speed...
The cells they uses are Samsung 48G with max discharge 9.6a (say 10a)
The pack has 8 cells in parallel... So max discharge of the pack is 80a
Controllers are 55a each!!
-Paul
LG knew would be better. But mind you there are a lot of reused LG cells from Tesla pack on the market…
21:42 just a reminder you can easily take out the GTR's battery making it more portable
Good point! It gets 32.2 lbs lighter with the battery removed. So that makes it lighter than the Hyperion with the battery out, but the way the GTR folds makes it awkward to carry. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Thats true, also i respect the effort you all put into making these reviews thank you
9:28 No quick disconnect? no problem! cut the wire, solder on some as150 bullets for the phase wires, a 5 pin higo for the hall sensor wires, and boom. We have quick disconnect at home
Hi, I want to ask what happened to the Nanrobot N6 review?
Oh wow, that was ages ago. Yeah we did a first impressions video but never came back to it for a full review. We've since given that scooter away. Sorry about that. -Paul
Can you guys please review the tewing z4 pro cause for 1700 8000w 60v 40ah seems amazing for the price
I don’t think we have that one coming our way yet, but we definitely hear you. We’ve had a lot of feedback regarding reviewing that Teewing. -Paul
How is the long term reliability as compared to a Dualtron storm or another top quality scooter?
Too early to tell from direct testing. I have a reliability score spreadsheet that automatically scores every scooter based on 11 reliability and serviceability factors in the database: warranty length, parts availability, battery brand, tubeless vs tubes, split rims vs not, IP rating etc.
The Dualtron Storm gets 7.4/10 vs 8.8/10 for the Hyperion. I don't assign the scores, just the criteria and importance-level of each score and then the spreadsheet automatically calculates the score for every scooter in our database.
-Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Mahalo. Have a great thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! -Paul
How does the battery compartment compare to the Inmotion rs? Controllers and wire management is so clean in the RS.
Both are very solid!
Can traction control be turned off on this scooter?
yes
Great question. Not on the current version. Possibly in the future. I asked them about this, and tried a few things, but no luck.
The emove roadster is missing from your top speed data rankings. Why's that?
It’s the fastest we tested!
-Paul
I live in SF and I'm looking for an electric scooter under 1000$ that will the best performance ( to climb hills) but be lightweight for portability. What scooter would you recommend?
Check out the review I just did for the SPLACH Thunder 10
ruclips.net/video/YzuNHOkM6BA/видео.htmlsi=fWvE2VwA_QDbB_BK
Or the Teewing GT4
ruclips.net/video/lCqeWJvy6mA/видео.htmlsi=3_YaQQyyu_oNkVwV
For the least expensive and most portable, you could go with the Inmotion Climber

-Paul
You sir…
I was sold when I heard the tires were split rim AND tubeless.
We need a big guy review and range test. 💪
Working on it!
I don’t need all the speed just good customer service and somewhat decent reliability. Narrowed it down to three. RS Lite Solar Hyperion Mars GTX any last advice?
Hyperion for the win!
its time for a DuaLTRON THUNDER 3 2024 Review
Yes, please. I wish we could get one! -Paul
Solar- "the only survivor"
Love your vids but I need help. There are so many, so many scooters out there in today's world that I don't know what to get. I want something for the beach in Hilton Head SC and for home riding too. I want power for hills and descent range for riding . I want something to play on and to go fast. I want good build quality , it's a must. I know you are the man when it comes to scooters and that's why I'm asking you. Plus I want to put a seat on it too. I don't want to spend no more than 3k, I know I'm asking a lot. Thank you "GO ARMY"
solarscooters.com/products/solar-ff-electric-scooter use code ESG12 or ESG10 at checkout. Add a seat also at checkout
Whish there were good options for 1.8k price. 11" tubeless.
The electricscooterguide website has a rider finder that will let you search by tire size and price. I’ve asked that the database gets expanded to include more scooters, but don’t know if they’ve restored the ones I wanted them to put back. -Paul
Can you review teewing q7 pro?
We will try our best!
I wish I had tubless split rims
Dualtron is probably the next best?
Dualtron makes one or two scooters with tubeless split rims. I think the Ultra is one of them. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide that's a game changer! I'll try find one that is compatible with my Achilleus.
Thanks for the reply, I really wasn't expecting such a big chanel to reply
I ordered this is August. After 3.5 months of excuses I got a refund and bought a Dualtron Thunder 3.
Sorry to hear about the delay. They're shipping quickly now. How do you like your Thunder 3?
-Paul
@ Nice if you to reply Paul! Love your reviews!! The T3 is a big step up from the Apollo ludicrous lol. After watching your review on the Solar I’m so pleased I got the T3. Hopefully you do a review on it soon. Drew
Smart Move!!!
Other reviews came with the shock wrench
Thanks for commenting. The other reviews are wrong about this. If you look at the wrench in their reviews it's the same wrench and it doesn't fit the shocks, it fits the steering bearings. I was confused about this too at first. -Paul
@ oh. Ok. 👍
awesome price to performance
but one thing that really bothers me with these high power scooters, especially coming from the kaabo gtr
why are none of them adopting the dual stem design? It's so much safer, it's actually the reason I refuse to buy any of them, because kaabo has spoiled me
or at least come with a steering damper out of the box at least...? can't be that expensive to include for free...
still hoping for a high power scooter to come out with it someday(that is not kaabo), this was not the one unfortunately haha
I also purchased an apollo pro earlier this year and it reminded me how bad single stems are, I was too scared to go over 50km/h, too much movement
-Paul
Purchasing the rs lite dual stem after this
Enjoy your scooter! I hope you have some good riding weather left. It's beautiful here today. -Paul
I feel like charge ports on the side are out-dated now. Niu has the right idea IMO.
I gave Solar the same feedback on the ports. Many have moved to the base of the stem now and it seems better. -Paul
Nice
Teddy! Thanks for always being here for us! -Paul
Looks like Elon had some fun making it look like the cyber truck.
there is a lot of hyper-scooters out now. I am not sure which to get. Here are the ones I am looking at
1. Kaabo Wolf King GTR I kind of like the GT PRO a bit better.
2. Inmotion RS
3. Solar Hyperion
4 Predatro Yume Nice battery but really heavy
these are the top 4 because they are UL certified and that is important for me.
5. RX7 (made in America)
6. Teewing XTR
7. Nami Burn-E max
I'd get the inmotion RS
@@3dandyrandy3 I looked at all the reviews and it goes back to Inmotion, especially since i live in Miami and is mostly road that I will be using it for.
I have the inmotion rs and absolutely love the thing, build quality is top notch and the main reason i chose the rs is because of its beefy and overbuilt controllers. hyper scooters especially sine wave controlled ones have issues with burning the controllers out, gtr has this issue pretty bad. the rs's controllers are the last thing that will fail on it. just dont get the midnight version, its slower than the other yellow or blue ones for the same price
@lolpagedied I thought the only difference was the color and the midnight version was UL rated.
I was looking at all of those too but came across a great deal on facebook marketplace for inmotion rs so now I'm an inmotion rs proud owner lol
With a name like Hyperion, it should be yellow.
Maybe a special edition :-)
$3,300 scooter with a 40ah battery and they give you one 3A charger?? Did they really need to get you for another $90 for a 2nd charger 🙃 Maybe it's just me coming from e-bikes, But 6A charging on a 40ah battery is not great in 2024 almost 2025 😂 A battery of this size should be able to charge at 10A easily.
You’re right. It’s capable of accepting 10A according to the sticker on the battery. -Paul
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I had a feeling 🤣 They need to update to a 5A in the box with an option for a 2nd 5A for much faster charging 👍
Too bad we can't find theses in Belgium... Oh well.
Maybe someday. Unless they’re banned for being too fast. -Paul
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide No we have fast E-Scooters like Nami Burn-E 3 Max, Dualtron Thunder 3 ect ect... But nothing "unique" as this for example.
Bro i got a whole backpack trying to reach 62
I wear it for ballast. My standard testing weight is 165lbs, but I actually weigh about 6lbs less than that, so I carry extra weight to keep the data tight.
Weight doesn’t affect top speed though if your runway is long enough. Top speed is mainly a function of power and frontal area. Heavier people tend to have more frontal area, but the backpack doesn’t add to frontal area. -Paul
Look like Kugoo g4pro😂
👀
Why does these exist?
Because they’re really fun!
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I really dont get it. Expensive, unpractical, incapable and just plain stupid. It's like buying a gold shovel instead of a excavator
Scooter 🛴 looks trash 🗑️
honestly, not a bad opinion. it’s way too chunky and bulky.🗑️
It looks like a mini fridge.
@@WattWerxPEV 😭
What scooters do you like the look of? Have you seen a Hyperion in person. It makes a different impression in person. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide no I watch your channel to see the scooters that leave the best impressions on me , I haven’t seen the hyperion in person but I’m not very impressed. I have a nami burn e 2 max & Apollo go I think they both look better than that ! But to each his own,it’s just my assessment, appreciate all the work you do providing us information about these scooters cheers 🍻
Too big and heavy. You really shouldn't go over 18 MPH for safety, so the extra speed is a waste.
😂 18mph.. bro I can run that fast... to each their own. If your worried about an EV going over 20mph in this day in age then just get a pedal bike...PS it's lighter than it's competition in it's price range
@@atrackstar123 Any place that has pedestrians shouldn't exceed 18 MPH for safety. They've done studies on it in Europe. Sadly, where I live in the USA, the speed limit is like 35 MPH in residential areas at the lowest, and usually 45+ on surface streets. Well, I do my part for safety and that's the best I can do. I can't control others.
18 mph scooters are great in the bike lane. The nice thing about faster scooters is you can get out and blend with traffic. In that case, scooters are much less dangerous than cars if ridden with the same care. -Paul
