    Hi, appreciate your video's! I acquired a John Deere SB14. The bearings are rough but mower still runs great, I was wondering if you would try and take apart the old clutch to see if the bearings are replaceable, a video on this would be a big help. Thanks

      @@philipneri9482 That's interesting about you having to change the belt. Since I did away with the clutch, I use my 14sb almost everyday in a lawn care business. I'm still using the original belt that's been on the machine since it was built over 30 years ago.

      @@TonysLawnCare215 I got rid of the clutch altogether. Now all I have to do to replace the belt is remove the pulley off of the transmission, take it off the engine pulley and replace. Reinstall the trans pulley, nut and I'm done...Clutches were failing even from the factory..

    I have 2 14SE’s. Do you know anything about the battery brackets? One has a metal strap to hold the battery that’s installed, the other one has a battery cage that is not installed. I can’t figure out how the battery cage is supposed to be attached? On a parts diagram I see both were installed but they don’t show how. Thanks in advance.

      Great ? Tell you the Truth I really have no idea if it was up to me i would start with Google search for every pic i can find on the 14se and see and study every pic of that battery area and put it on best way i can .Sorry that battery area is out my zone never worked on the 14se before Good luck if it supposed to have a battery bracket then it has to fit into the area take your time figure it out 👍

      @TonysLawnCare215  5 месяцев назад +2

      Great ? well for me both blades work great but they are for 2 different uses .The High lift is best when side discharging and bagging the clipping. 2nd is the Mulch blade that is used for leaving the clipping on the lawns .Me i just always use my high lift blade for side discharging . i don't like to mulch most of my jobs are mid morning so the grass is sometimes wet still so i don't want all the spinach build under my deck . morel of the story is both work great pick and choose what the job requires . Remember to always keep your blades sharp 👍

      @@mikezags0816 it's OK ask any ? You like Glade I can point you in the right direction. So for me I always use OEM JD Blades also there is not many aftermarket blades that fit a JD I buy frome ebay as you can find the OEM Blades for a great price 👍 Good luck and enjoy your JD 14SB

    LOL... I too am a collector of the John Deere 14SB and the first edition JX-75 (plastic wheels) I know the part numbers to get rid of the blade clutch. That's the reason the mower was discontinued. Clutches were actually replaced under warranty. (not good) mine is an absolute tank. If a stake is hit it shears the nubs on the blade adapter. Most times without damage to the engine.
