A Wheel Of Time Memorable Moment
Book 2 The Great Hunt: Chapter 45 Blademaster
High Lord Turak and several Seanchan soldiers interrupt Rand, Mat, Hurin, Perrin, and Ingtar stealing the Horn of Valere and Mat's ruby-hilted dagger from his house.
Turak tells them that he had suspected Fain would try to steal the Horn, "I have been suspicious of him since Huon died", but he will kill them instead. When a soldier tries to take the Horn, Mat stabs him with his dagger, only to find that the merest scratch can kill a man in extreme agony. The dagger causes the victim's body to turn black and leaves him in agony.
When the man is dead, Ingtar and the others fight with the soldiers and Rand fights Turak. Through Turak is a skilled blademaster, Rand defeats him, despite having to hold off the call of saidin throughout the fight, "saidin flowed towards him but he ignored it".

There are many memorable moments in the wheel of time series, what are your favorite memorable moments.
This is one of them because for the first time the reader and Rand see`s he deserves to carry the blade....Mat blowing the horn at Falme is another but in the early books his fight with Gawyn and Galad is probably my most favourite...
@Fred Trunce Seconded. That's an amazing moment. Although I believe it's Ba'alzamon who says: "I have won again Lews Therin" not Shai'tan
For me one of my Favorites is the little joke chapter after Alaine all but drags rand into a bed chamber, and everyone in their bond group starts to feel what is going on and trying to figure out how to make stop. Lol
Mat vs Gholam in the Rahad
Nynaeve healing Logain, and the whole following chapter where the Aes Sedai manipulate her into healing Siuan and Leane
I've never quite been able to put my finger on "why," but this has always been one of my favorite scenes.
It's Rand starting to come into his own. His character growth in The Great Hunt is amazing. He becomes a leader amd on this fight shows his prowess.
It doesn't hurt that it was incredibly well written and paced.
Because he becomes a blademaster, and before his father's sword is destroyed by Ishamael above Falme, Rand finally earns the sword on his own merit.
I remember when I first read this part I thought wow Rand just beat a Blademaster, this is why when thinking of which audios I would do this one always came up in my mind.
Me too. The first 5 books were among my favorites. Farmboy to Car'a'Carn. And the whole journey in between.
Great to see this amazing sword fight play out in the TV ser-
Oh wait, NEVER MIND.
Lmao.
TBH it always seemed a bit off to me that Rand could beat Turak in a swordfight. I liked the 'power move' the show put in instead. Especially since Turak is essentially just in his way while he tries to get to Egwene.
In the show he channels weaves so complicated even Lews Therin would be like wait can you show me that one more time.
@@jelledevries8904 You actually liked that stupid ass scene in the show? The book duel is way better. And unlike in the show, Rand actually trained with Lan for a good amount between books 1&2, plus he should have inherent knowledge and talent from Lews Therin, so it does make sense that he could beat Turak, who was a blademaster, but an aging and weaker one.
@@dontbeshady411 He can do weaves that complicated apparently, yet he can't break out of a shield a single Aes Sedai put on him an episode earlier, despite it being more brute force than skill, of which he has the most. Man the show is a shitty mess.
Amazon’s’ WOT finale did a huge disservice to us by not displaying Rand’s sword play, instead having him use Saidin immediately against Turok.
I only watch the show, but in it he didn't train much with the thing (neither does he look all that strong with the one power yet).
It’s really disappointing how far from the books they went
I’m still hurt by that. The season 2 is an improvement on season 1, but still feels like they are robbing Rand of his greatest moments
You guys watch the Wheel of Prime?
There's not a damned thing good about that rancid, piece of shit. From the first moment it sucked. If you,re a fan of Jordan, you should be ashamed of yourself for giving amazon more than a minute of your life!
What I love most about this scene is Rand doesn’t even know his own skill or realise how much he was holding back before assuming the void.
The TV Series writers saw fit to omit this fight. Apparently it was enough that Rand hits them all with lava bullets and calls it a day... We got robbed of this great fight.
Right before this scene when Matt lashes out with the dagger as they are having their standoff and turns that one seanchan into a giant pustule. Woof. That stuck with me
Man overcomes magic addiction cravings through sword play yoga
Let us see what is required to earn the heron on this side of the ocean.
I have listened to this scene and this video so many times. It is one of the best scenes that RJ has written.
It would have been so impressive to see this on TV. Alas, it was not to be. Thank you for this
This was great, thank you. Two of my favorite scenes are when Siuan is trying to "help" Nynaeve overcome her block while they are on a ship back to Tar Valon and when Suian & Moiraine tell Rand he is the Dragon Reborn... there are so many others of course.
Mat vs the two Andoran princes
9:08, I LOVE the change in music as Rand starts to press him!
Thanks for this.
I was always moved by the chapters of the fall of Manetheren, the cleansing of Saidin, and the fall of Tear are good. For some reason I love the part when Aes Sedi cured Matt of the curse as well. just to give ya couple ideas, keep up the good work!
God, I wish I could see this on the big screen. Done properly, of course.
Here we are 6 months later and we see this in live action and its literally skipped over lmfao
they had the chance but messed up bigtime
@@charlesmatheka7707They had the chance but didn't bother/threw it away/realised they couldn't do it because in their version of the story Lan never trained Rand because they were too busy spending time on other scenes for their own purposes/felt it was too manly for their show. Hopeless.
I came bearing terrible news
This is one of my Top 20 Chapters WOT series⚔🐉💯
These are still very good, thank you for putting the time into making these
Thank you, I really enjoyed this
You're very welcome
This is another amazing scene. This one voice fits the Wheel of Time more than anything that crap Amazon spewed out.
And. Season 2 finale. The final nail. F..k the show
Love it keep them coming! Your awesome!
Thank you! Will do!
The scene when the head of the black ajah thinks she has escaped from her Aiel wise ones.
Excellent selection! tbh tho, I think the music is many times more loud than it should be (if present at all), the music is almost as loud as portions of the speech and overrides the emotion of the text at inappropriate moments (such Mat slashing the man and him wasting away while screaming, it feels glossed over with the unresponsive music)
Thanks for the feedback, I may of missed this while editing due to fatigue after working an 12hr shift and 2hr travel to and from work everyday bar Sunday and some Saturdays.
It’s hard to get motivated sometimes due to this lack of time I have, but I really do like the feedback because now I can really work on making sure I pay attention to the balance and not just rush it through like I may of with this, also I’m really not an expert editor of any kind just a long time fan who after listening to the wholes series on audiobook over the past ten to twelve years thought adding some music to these audios might add some atmosphere or something.
Thanks again and sorry bout the long story.
@@WheelOfTimeAudioClips I hear that dude, for years I felt like I just didn't have the energy to be creative after the workday and it's something I still struggle with. I appreciate you putting forth the time and effort on your channel to make content like this. Especially now with the show not representing the books terribly well, it's wonderful have to quick access to some dope shit from the books
Thanks dude I really appreciate that, it’s what sort of keeps me going with it and the fact I’m a big fan🙏
Also agree that the show was disappointing, my wife and I started of wanting it to be good even with the first few changes then it just got bad to the point it was just wrong.
Anywho thanks again for the feedback I’ll try better next time to keep it in check🙏
@@WheelOfTimeAudioClips I think how you added the music really adds to the scenes...great job!
Too bad the reaction of the servants were not included in the clip, but then again you need to stop at some point
Yeah I know what you mean, I was going to go longer but I found at the end of the fight when Rand says "I just killed a man" felt like the right place to end it.
After last episode of 1st season 😁
Who’s here after Amazon completely butchered this duel?
I write recaps and brought up how bad it was.
It’s not just that they skipped it. It’s that the way they skipped it was with a complex weave RAND SHOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO DO YET.
@@GZilla311I could have tolerated them cutting the duel (I wouldn’t have liked it though) if they let Rand fight Ishy, but he couldn’t even do that…
@@PrinceofRavens64It didn’t even make sense. It was IN THE PROPHECIES. If all they needed was to make a fire dragon after (which, mind you, isn’t something people in the Westlands have ever heard of as a creature, just as a person), ANYBODY could do it at ANY TIME.
Having the duel shown in the sky was EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
In rafe judkins version of this scene, high lord turak is actually a woman identifying as a man that’s a blade master.
Rand doesn’t kill turok, instead Min, or some other female, kills turok while Rand cowers in the corner.
Ahhh, another scene fixed by rafe and his crew.
You're wrong bro, it's Rand that's been collared by the seanchan, and Egwene beats Turak by becoming an instant blademaster with the power of tears and love
You know, this feels so repungent that he'll actually do it.
@@daze4135 Collar? You mean the ball gag?
Careful, he warned us that the more we complain the more hell change the story. Like a child.
You forgot the sex. Somebody has to have sex.
Whomever is running this site is doing a great job.
The reading is good, but the music from Dune playing on such a short loop made this a tough listen for me (thematically appropriate, but distracting in practice)
So good
damn this rules
When i watched demon slayer, i rememb3r this scene and after listening to this now, i can imagine Rand fighthing Turak with the animation like in Demon Slayer anime HAHAHA
Who else cant wait to see amazon ruin this scene this week
I'm confused,is it pronounced da-maa-ni or dae-main? i go by the latter, though...
I always thought it was dah-main. I actually had to stop and figure out what he was saying--Domani? Ain't no seductress merchants here....
I read the audiobooks before getting a braille copy, so I always think of how Kramer says it. Damonni. Kinda gets confusing though, as he pronounces the people of Arad Doman the same. Wonder if any Domani became Damane. Lol.
how would it, in any language, be dae-main whe the I is at the end
How would have the Suldam known that Rand was channelling Saidin? Can the damane detect Saidin channelling?
They wouldn’t unless he did something big like an explosion
Well written scene, Rand has plot armour, but its not thick enough to smother.
What will the "show" do with it ..probably have a woman face and kill the high lord.
I hope this scene is in the tv series
It looks like it will be in this Friday's episode. I wouldn't hold too much hope, the show has been shit to date.
@@alcovitchnarrator: It was not. They skipped the fight entirely so Rand is still not a blademaster.
I refuse to watch season 2. They ruined Mat's by turning him from a prankster that stands by his friends into an absolute piece of shit that abandons them cuz "the ways are spoooky" fuck that show
