Hope you get a great therapist! It can be hit or miss. I tried quite a few before finding the person who really helped propel me forward. Well done finding your way back to making. Love the beret!
I feel for you in your job search, Bri! It's brutal for creatives. I work as an admin assistant and want so badly to transition to a more creative career in something like editorial design or general graphic design, but your girl is over here with no connections 😂 I was glad to see that you were feeling a bit better at the end. I have gone to therapy a couple of times in my life and I will say that if nothing else, having someone who can look at your life situation with no personal stake or connection to you outside of that session is oddly helpful. They have a more practical view of your experiences and can suggest different ways of thinking about it that you may not realize on your own because of your own emotional investment. I was very skeptical when I started my sessions too, but I don't know, my therapist is someone who is very kind, but also was not there to bullshit me and just coddle me and make me feel better, you know? I haven't done group therapy before but I hope it helps! If not, you could always try a private session too.
It certainly seems like you need a connection to get ANY job these days. It makes me 😫🤢. I’m so glad therapy has helped you. I was hoping to find something similar to that - a practical third party perspective to reign me back in. Such a daunting task though to find someone you actually like
@@briisokayThe intake process sucks because you have to explain your whole story over again haha. I had to do it a couple of times to find the right person but I think it was worth it 🙂
Aww, you’re allowed to feel how you feel. I imagine moving to a different country has its challenges. It’s one hurdle at a time. I think you’re pretty brave! I love you videos. You are funny, honest, and extremely creative. You got this!
Haha the tv license ‘warm’ letters are a classic. That is how they do it, even when you have to renew the letters are threatening 😅 if you need talking or advice I’d be happy to help too!
Haha I lived in London for 20 years (19 when I moved) and I still am like a child when I see the foxes (and squirrels) but most people are so used to them that don’t find it special. I get excited when I see a dog on the street 😂 so imagine 🤣 It’s normal to need time to adapt, many people think that coming from the US or even a EU mainland country will be similar to the UK and easy, but it’s not. Even with things in common, there are still cultural differences and, as nice and rich as it is, it’s also a process. You’re doing great and in a year you’ll look back and feel very proud of what you’ve achieved - I still do after all these years. ❤
Aw thank you ❤️ I’m certain I would cringe at some things I said/used to think when we first got here. It just takes time to adapt. You’re so right about the critters. I see people lined up in the park sometimes to take photos of squirrels which makes me 🧐🤨 but I would do the same for a fox!
Just watched this I think you are so honest and made me laugh about being good at things, yes you are fantastic at story telling love your travel vlogs some great door of opportunity will open keep expecting it🤗
I've been loving the vlogs but I'm also very excited for art videos to come back! The beret is SO cute, your work always inspires me so much to make all the whimsical things! Anyway thank you for your video and being so vulnerable with us. You are one of my favorite RUclipsrs and I wish you full time RUclips job above all else :)
Congratulations on your blog. I have just found your channel and am most impressed by how you have coped with the whole scale upheaval of your life. Obviously I have not had the chance see all of your work or the upshot of your work with the mental health advisor. Many of us, however suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder due to the lack of sunlight in the winter, takin Odie for a walk will help but so can buying a indoor light unit which provides you with the benefit of sunshine. Hi there ! Thanks so much. I will hopefully be better prepared for winter this year. Got my vitamin d pills, dimming lights, and a new winter coat for Odie 😅
I laughed because I just moved to london and we own the same chair, desk and the table, same colors and all 😂 I am lucky to have my old remote job though because job market, especially creative, is BRUTAL. i tried for four months, landed only one interview. Would strongly recommend a vitamin D supplement for winter time in the UK. Those short winter days can be a real tough even when you are used to them. :/

hey bri! from my experience most charity shops have a small home decor / homewares section. so the best strategy is to simply pop into each charity shop and have look. plus its fun to treasure hunt ☺
Sainsbury's is pretty good. Use the large stores if you want housewares, the smaller ones like Tesco Local only sell groceries and are for those people who have forgotten something on their weekly/monthly shops. Brits usually shop for the week/month. There is also The Co Op, Aldi, Lidl, you know about Waitrose the most expensive of all, they're the food arm of John Lewis department stores, Tesco, Asda which is part of Walmart or was part of Walmart, Marks and Spencer (M&S) for clothing and food. Most of our stores are mixed as in they sell food, clothing and housewares under the same roof. Something not done in The States. The equivalent to Home Depot here is called B&Q, there is also Wickes. how you getting on with our electrical system in houses? Found somewhere to dry your hair? 🙂 We use ring mains in this country and the voltage is 240 volts. Evrything is fused. Bulbs we use two types a bayonet fitting and screw caps. British Heart Foundation collect 2nd hand furniture and stuff only in their larger shops though. There are things here called 'Car Boot Sales' something akin to a very large yard sale except from car boots, vans and trucks at larger venues. Some will have public transport running close by but youwill need avehicle to obviously transport anything you buy unless you negotiate.
