- First off, i would like to congratulate the kings on winning the cup, they deserved it after knocking off the first, second, and third seeds in the west. Normally i wouldnt make a team highlight reel, but since the devils are my favorite and they came just two wins away from hockeys ultimate prize, i felt i could make a great video out it.

This video never fails to give me the chills. I miss the Devils in the playoffs, losing Parise, Kovalchuck, and Clarkson was tough
They all got homesick. We have a solid team with great depth now, and our defensive prospect are going to be steller, Gelinas, Merrill and Severson. Can't wait for the season to start!

Lol, are you like illiterate? Where did you get 24 years from? 1st of all, it was 1994, not 1995 (we lost in the 2nd round In 95). 2nd of all, 24 years would be 1991.
It feels like this happened a long time ago. Easy to forget that since 2010 only 10 teams have been in the Stanley Cup final. Even with our struggles, the Devils are one of the elite organizations in the league, and the only team in New Jersey proud enough to own it.

If NJ wins one of those first 2 OT games in NJ that LA series would have looked totally different. Quick was just incredible.

I agree. Even if they split one of those first two OT games the series would of been 3-3 going to game 7 in NJ. Also in game 6 man we’re the referees awful with calls and getting in the way of the players for the devils. Still iconic run. That rangers and devils series was probably the best series in that entire playoff picture

This video makes me emotional to this day, still gotta hold back tears I remember staying up late on a school night and balling my eyes out in happiness when Henrique won it for us again against the rangers
I think we all remember where we were on that night lol. This one, and his Game 7 Goal against the Panthers.
I remember just sitting at my kitchen table watching it on repeat for a good hour the next day lol
Think of it. The 5 minute major never wouldve happened if they called it against gionta right before that. That killed the devils momentum and boosted the kings momentum. Im not saying the devils wouldve won game 6, im just saying it wouldve given them a better chance.

I miss this team. They would put me at the edge of my seat every game i watched even against the sabres, but they had heart.
To be honest, the devils will make the playoffs once they get 2 Top 6 Forwards. Once they get that, I see them making a run for it all again.
Wow, big deal. Just about any bad team can make the playoffs if you add 2 top six forwards, other than the Oilers & Sabres. The Rangers are the real deal and your Devils will suck for another 10 years, enjoy!

most exciting playoff run I have seen from the Devils
I don't know what is it, but in the end I always find my self watching this. That 2012 Cup run was the first time with my Devils fandom when they made it that far. I was so disappointed when Zach left us, but I still believed that we could bounceback. While we missed the playoffs last season and Kovy retired and Clarkie went to Toronto, I was a bit messed up. If we think from that perspective, Devils are doing fine - they're still fighting for a playoff spot and have a good chance to making it. #letsgodevils

Ian Miller 6 seed because of the way the system worked. The top 4 teams in the conference in points were all from the Atlantic. Rangers were 1 with the 1st seed, Pens were 2 but had the 4th seed, Flyers were 3 but had the 5th seed and Devils were 4 with the 6th seed

They held a playoff spot steady last year in the division until cammy got injuried. Even without him we were able to hold the wild card for a while but consistency was an issue. This year is going to be fun to watch.

Being a kings fan I'm happy that we won. But the Devils deserved that cup. They had a hell of a run and they should've Ben rewarded.

I was 4 or 5 when this happened when the kings won in 2012 I thought about punching the tv then in 2014 when the rangers lost to the kings I was jumping up and down
What a team, what a run, what a heartbreaker for the year after. The slow road to the top starts in the offseason between 15-16, we're climbing all the way back.
I miss some of these players. Really bittersweet watching this after our trainwreck of a season this year.

They may not have won the cup, but this was, without a doubt, the best playoffs I have ever watched. I was born a month before the infamous '94 series, so I was thrilled when the Devils played the Rangers. Just the run in general though, there were so many memories. Watching this nearly brought a tear to my eye. Great job with the video, and, as always, go devils!!

That clip with parise at the end is so sad. What a great end to his devils career. Such a bad way to end the season to as we were robbed in the Kings series. Fayne wide right, Kovy post as time winds down in game 2, that fucking major penalty to bernier and all the other ref mishaps...all in all I still cherish this playoff run to this day. NJD baby

This is the first time I rewatched highlights of that Game 6..I kept flashing back to the first 2 games of the series and Fayne's chance at the doorstep and Kovy hitting the post in the finals seconds and what could've been had one of those shots went in the net. It was an awesome season though and this is an awesome video! Parise went the Gretzky way and let his fiance draw his career choice for him..like Gomez and so many others , he will miss being on the Devils eventually.
As a huge Kings fan....but as a long time Marty Broduer fan (cuz he inspired me to play goalie) it was bitter sweet to see these two teams go at it. This has to be one of the best videos I have seen anyone put together!! Even the music was fitting!! Great job! Awesome work! It was a great run for the 2012 Kings and Devils !

I remember going to every game that year. Mr brother bobby had just finished his first year at Rutgers (where he later dropped out !oh u bobby !) and we would pile in the van and go to the games and root for the team. The Rangers had a lot of great players that year. Sanchez and Reid led the way on shots taken and thats always a telling statistic on who's really better - my dad told me once- Lets hope the team stays in New Jersey and keeps giving us unforgettable memories .
love this video. it was truly an amazing season for the devils. as a devils fan, i really can't be bitter about the stanley cup final loss because the kings are a good team to lose to. but remember who eliminated the flyers and the rangers. im still very proud of the devils and everything they accomplished this past season. they went from not making the playoffs at all in 2011 to making it to the stanley cup finals. lets make it an even better season next year and make it back. DEVILS BABY!!

The refs screwed the devils, they blew it for them. They didn't call the penalty on the kings but instead in bernier and the ref got in the way of a devils defenseman which caused a goal. Devils could've won the Stanley cup.
They also could have won if they didnt lose the first 3 games. Also the refs did miss a call but the call on bernier was correct. He played the man not the puck and the 5 minute major was the right call. Also the ref getting in the way didnt matter because the Kings won by 5.
They lost 6-1 one penalty wasn't going to help that much

well i cried when the kings won the Stanley cup and i also lost $20 but after the draft i said "this will be a great season." and what else made me feel better is that we beat the rangers in the conference final

In 1995 the Devils used to go see a movie before each playoff game, leading up to the Stanley Cup win. For each movie they watched, they won the game.

im a life long devils fan , and when they beat the rangers honestly to me that is almost as good as winning the cup . but LA had what no other team had ion the playoffs and that was a hot goalie . jonathan quick was very good in all the series and when its came down to it i knew that theres no way the devils would have beaten them as much as i wanted to i knew it wasnt going to happen . game 6 vs the rangers was prob the best devils game i went to it was pure madness . still wish we won the cup
