- Hurricane Idalia September 2023 was a treat along Cape Hatteras, NC. This particular day started at the Lighthouse in Buxton, and then lead elsewhere as the morning progressed... 2 quick sessions, but both were a blast!
"RAW POV Sessions" is a Playlist where I go back and upload all the raw footage from a session/day. No frills, just straight footage... wipeouts, makes, walking, talking, whatever I film with my GoPro.
Babe wake up, Brett posted!
That’s what u told your boyfriend or what?
Love to see the channel's resurgence!
So stoked to see you back at it.
Epic! Those left hand tubes next to the pier were awesome!
Fav surf channel
Awesome to see some Barley POV again, That last one was the perfect "going in" wave.
Epic 🥲
Thank you for this, Brett. I surfed both of these spots regularly in the 1970s and 1980s and your videos - particularly this one - bring back lots of great memories.
Good to see you sharing again with us always super stoked love the new spot sweet man good to separate from work to every day life makes a big difference. All this is perfect timing just had full hip replacement surgery on Wednesday went really good On that long road to recovery just focusing on that. But will be waiting for new stuff can't wait going to have some down time keep it coming. Thanks again for another awesome video. Late
dang sorry to hear about the hip replacement, but hopefully recovery goes well and you're back better than ever. both Noah Snyder and Jesse Hines had hip replacements then did their best surfing in 10yrs after they recovered!
Awesome as always, I would love to see more slomo in there tho 🤙
People like you have inspired me to create my own surf POV videos. Even though I’m an old school longboarder! 🏄🏽🧡
Yes so good to see some of this pov of yours mate!!!! Legend 👍
i was there for that storm! 3 days straight of solid waves 🤙🏼 we surfed both the light house & N Buxton. Pretty sure I spoke to you briefly but didn’t put the 2 together at the time.
Love seeing the videos again Brett. You are incredible!
wow, cool to see it from your perspective!
Pretty cool shots i the barrel with the lighthouse in the foreground. RLTW 3/75
I’ve been waiting for all your fall footage!!
Man it's nice to see a video by you again.
Yeah! The barrel boss! I Just rolled out of good ole Buxton the other day. It’s extremely hard to leave such a place. Thanks for dropping a Monday vid! Great timing!😄👏🏼✌🏼
Thanks for the tease my friend Looking forward to more of the same Be well my friend and God Bless 👍🤙
Great clips as always. The pier has been going off this year. Kind of nice to see that place shape up. Hasn't always been that way
Been waiting for your hurricane Lee videos.
That's so sick love these povs keep it up 🤙💯👏
Hells yeah 💯 east coast beast cost 🤙🏼 North Sentinel Board Riders for Life 🤙🏼🇨🇷
Got that right!
That paddle next to the pier was insane!
Missed your content dude, great to have you back.
good to be working on getting back :)
Missed ya = ) Happy to see you in the water again.
Oh I’ve been in the water the whole time… just had to take a break on editing for life stuff. But I’m inching my way back in :)
Nice show
Damn that’s straight skeleton bay... I’m jealous.
Raw pov is the move. Edits in the surf industry are just dry now. Awesome content!
nah, edits slap when done right... amp music and action clips 🔥 but raw cuts are cool too :) and easier to put out regularly.
@@brettbarley Agreed sometimes, just creates a bit of a disconnect between audience and surfers. With raw Pov you feel like you are in the water yourself, and you get to sort of see what surfing is like. Nonetheless love any of your content!
I see what you mean. Good point
Agreed, I watch a lot of surf content and have been digging the POVs! I always learn a ton that I can apply to my own surfing (or try to anyway).
Can you do a video about how to bail and not get smoked? I love the videos Thanks 🤙🤙👍
Brett barrelly😂
😂😂
Ripping!
Let's gooo
Lol seeing through the angle of a profession is gold
I was going to ask if the paddle out was a nightmare because I had seen a video about how rough it can be with the concrete in the water, but then I remembered that was your video! Great video today though!
haha thats awesome.
This was so sick!! What 360 cam were you using? Or is that the max lens mod?
GoPro Max 360 cam
South side Avon pier. Used surf that spot in the late 90s
Is that a gopro bro? cheers from Reunion Island
yes, GoPro Max 360 cam
Have you surfed the Pyzel Phantom at all? If so, how similar do you think it is to the ghost? I just bought one.
I haven't actually... I've only ridden the Ghost, Radius, and Next Step.
Yo dawggg what camera you filming with?? Which go pro?? Is it the max lense?? The wide angle is amazing I have a 9 I’ve been using may need the upgrade!!
This is the Max 360
@@brettbarley sweet, thanks!
sick vid bro. so the max lens has the same cover as the 9?
no this is actually the GoPro Max 360 cam
@@brettbarley sorry gotcha and you're choosing that screenframe. great work. just looks like a wider lens sweet editing lord. i'm still only a year into it myself there's a bit more too it than it looks
@@brettbarley have you ever used one of those max mod lenses? i don't have the money to risk it having the new 10-11 cover cos of the drops
I used the max lens mod in Namibia... it looks great, but mostly for shorter waves. longer waves, the water drops can build up on the lens worse than a normal GoPro lens. BUT... the footage looks epic. its work but if you can make it work, its worth it.
@@brettbarley great description and explanation. thanks bro. keep inspiring us with the vids
