Wanted to add that with the magnum you do have to get the shorter driveshaft IF you are running the IRS still. Either get an inch removed from your stock driveshaft or buy the purpose built one. I'm running SRA so my stock driveshaft worked fine.

@@KenMileyJr oh alright .yea i have a 03 termi w/ t56 and a auto 4r70w 04 mach1 . im looking to buy a magnum and put that in the 03 cobra and the t56 out of that in my auto mach 1 . just trying to search what would be needed . 👍

@@KenMileyJr As an experienced magnum owner, I will give you a shifter tip: The steeda triax shifter neck fits the magnum shifter and will give you a 3" offset to the rear if you are uncomfortable with the standard reach. I used it in my first Terminator with the magnum and I loved it!

So, I just went through this. I was definitely considering a Magnum but the kit to do it properly is five grand, and that doesn't include the $1200 or so you'll spend on a 26 spline clutch/flywheel. I still wasn't totally opposed, but my T56 was super whiny, and sucked getting into 5th and reverse. Once it came apart the countershaft, countershaft bearing, and input shaft bearings were all junk, so "selling it to pay for the Magnum" wasn't really an option. Ended up doing a stage 3 rebuild and now it's amazing, and in total I was about $2500 under the cost of a Magnum swap, which would have also left me with a useless broken, unsellable T56 boat anchor. 👍🏿 And oh yeah, you definitely need another Terminator 🐍 🤘🏿
Well what Andrew said takes into consideration that your old trans isn't busted. We know their limits and if you push them you know ahead of time that it can and will break. If it's not broken you can be ahead of the curve by selling it in good condition before you break it. 🤛

Have you had any issues on start up of the 2003 cobra of it smoking a little on startup? I have an 03 with 40k mikes and it smokes a little on startup?

HELP!!! 2001 Corba. T56 Magnum XL. Ram clutch QuickTime bell housing . Factory fork. Trans installed,the dowel pins lineup I have quarter inch gap. Won’t sit flush. fork is touching inside fin of trans and throwout bearing is touching pressure plate fingers. Bolt the trans up it drawing to the bell housing compresses clutch fingers.
You didn’t need a dial plate?
T56 or TKX?

It's probably seen better days but it works great still. And with my luck with this car the trans will probably be back out before long anyway.
Are there any different shifter locations on the magnum. I’m 6-1 and it’s still annoying rowing gears in the terminator?
No, same location. The "shifter reach" was always an issue on Fox platform cars.
Was the swap really that easy as just trimming the side pieces, not modifying the transmission crossmember or anything? I’m debating between doing a Magnum for my Cobra or building the T56
If you have the irs you need a different driveshaft or chop an inch of the one in there. If it's sra it swaps in minus the trimming

Where are you guys located? I have some 2009 California Special Mustang parts to sell if you want them. I have a full stock exhaust including manifold and original spoiler. I wanted to check with you. I can’t ship it. I am in Troy OH. I also have the original cams and other parts. I have no use for them. I figured you could make use of my parts. I don’t have the car anymore. I also have new never used in original box, Steeda caster camber plates and Ford Performance brand new Rear lower control arms for this car. I can’t use any of this. I traded the car in.

Tune curiosity: is anyone concerned about adding HP in regards to wearing out internal engine parts prematurely?? Is everyone forging internals? I have a stock 2018 Premium GT 6 spd manual. I'm in California so I'm somewhat limited. I'm thinking of a basic tune with CAI. Daily Weekend type car. Not looking to race but maybe add 25-40 HP. Looking for feedback!
You have no worry adding 25-40hp.
If you aren't racing then why worry about 40hp? You can't feel 40 horsepower
The gen 3 coyote will make 1k+ hp stock motor for a while. 25-40 hp is nothing. Won't really even feel it that much if at all.
@@CertifiedRippers actually 40 hp difference in the mid 400's can be felt. Now the difference between 900 and 940 may be hard to tell.
