This is so masterful. Can you talk for a moment about any prep work and any tips/tricks for getting the hanging threads in the hole in the fabric to expose their little loops/holes you used as a scaffold to sew into? This is top tier stuff
I never saw it get fixed! Watched them thread the needle, begin & then nothing! Even as a “short” video, it should’ve shown more of the actual fix stitching.
One day I'm going to be a father, and I reckon learning how to mend will be a valuable skillset to teach my son or daughter. Despite the fact that thread can be rather expensive, it's far cheaper to mend a hole than it is to buy a brand new pair of jeans. These Ariat slim fits are gonna last me a lifetime. 👍🏻

God Bless you, this is so useful. I had been looking for this and didn't even know it. Thank you! I have a winter had that I never even used it yet that needs this done. I thought I was going to have to learn knitting but no! much simpler solution! Yay
I'm trying to fix my dad's sweater, but the hole in his sweater is very frayed and worn out in the elbow area. All these repair videos have all the loops around the hole having strong, unfrayed loops all around, so I'm trying to figure out how to adapt the repair method for a very frayed hole. Would you suggest just starting the repair from further out where the strands are less frayed and trying to tuck the frayed ends on the inside?
Tie off the end as close as possible and sew it back through to hide the knot. I don’t know if doing it that way is professional or proper but for me it gets the job done.
It would have been so nice to have seen how she started it. I'm a beginner and I have no idea how she started it. Oh well, I'll find another video that shows it from the start.
This is the Outside of the fabric. At the very Start of the Video, notice the thread has a knot. A "V" is made at at this end. Then two threads at each side slightly pulled together. At the End push needle through and tie off on the inside of the fabric. If there's any puckering, it's recommended to massage the fabric flat.
It's nice when you have loops that are perfectly spaced to thread through not just eye balling what little material you have left.
When the poster of the video likes a comment...
That is obviously a sarcastic remark on how unrealistic the "damage" is that they are fixing. XD
She stretched the piece of cloth out on something which makes sewing more comfortable,
It's fine for knits but what about rayon material.
@@frostflower5555 jesus you can't have one fits all techniques with fabrics and knits
That is the cleanest hole ive ever seen

I have a hole in a woolen shirt. I'm going for it!
Exactly! 😂 besides it's wool, much easier to fix a hole!
Tutorial muito simples e eficiente 🎉
Que lindo parabéns
What a lovely clean hole that is. Unfortunately when you genuinely rip a hole in clothing it never happens like that. 😂😂😂
eso cuando la rotura es así de limpia. Costura invisible en punto jersey de dos agujas. Pero casi nunca es tan fácil. Buen trabajo ❤

Is this done from the inside out?
Do you tie it at the end or just cut it
I love the music so much and I’m wondering it is called (I’m using your video for fixing my stocking since it has a big hole in it)
Perfect ❤
Good 👍
Y como se podria hacer cuando los bucles estan rotos, por favor
Thank you
What do you do with the end of the thread when you begin and how do you tie it off when you finish?
That's what I want to know too. I can do this, but I want it to be truly invisible as in no lumps where it ties off.
Tie off the end as close as possible and sew it back through to hide the knot. I don’t know if doing it that way is professional or proper but for me it gets the job done.
