- We are not sure if this day could've gotten any worse!
This is one of the first hitchhikes that we have actually failed and had to take public transport.
Not only that but with my injury and a long journey ahead of us, the whole day felt like we were losing an uphill battle.
The kindness of locals overwhelmed us and kept us pushing forward but... at one moment it all became too much and we gave up!
This is certainly not a journey that we will forget but all we can say is thank you to everyone who helped and supported us on this adventure we really needed it and appreciate it so much!

Malaysia has very edaquate and efficient transportation system already. So hitchhiking especially long distance travel is almost impossible. Most of the cities are connected by highways. Not many Malaysians will stop for hitchhikers due to safety reason and the fact that public transportations are almost everywhere.
Yes, they have a very convenient public transport system but honestly, we love the adventure of travelling in this way.
Keep watching our vlogs to see how we get on! 😉
@@SilkyRonTheRoadis is true but there many other ways to have adventures and connect with the local ppl, trust me taking local transport can be an adventure in itself... Nothing wrong with changing plans ❤ But loving ur vids...hope he's leg is ok... ❤
When Pakistani give you money, accept it. They feel insulted if anybody refused their gifts. It is their imbued in their culture.
@@SahifulTajuddin well we will for sure always remember it, pass it on and also pay it back someday! ✨🙏🏼✨
Malaysian public transport is a joke, as a fellow Malaysian.
Have a safe journey guys. Look to what your foot is stepping on. To be honest hitch hiking is not good here. Because drivers sometimes don't go your way. I'm sorry you got injured. Get a good rest after reaching Penang. Hope you recover soon.
We will for sure rest up and get ready for our next adventure! 😁 have a wonderful weekend! 🙌🏼
The wound will become scar forever. And when you look at the scar in the future, you will remember Malaysia. Take care guys and have a good journey 🙌🙌🙌
Haha yup! I’ll never forget it! Have a wonderful weekend! ✨🙌🏼✨
2:04 is such an amazing voice u guys have.. seriously I can listen to u guys singing for hours..
Aww thank you so much, that means a lot to us! ✨
@@SilkyRonTheRoad what's the song name? will search it on youtube

Wish your speedy recovery. Felt a little bit sad for u guys cuz you guys always happy in every videos.. be more careful next time,it does not hurt for a while when you are walking, but im sure at night it does hit different. Hope you’ll be fine. I’m m enjoying all your videos. Keep it up 👍
Ahh thank you so much! We feel great now and ready for more adventures! Have a wonderful weekend! ✨🙏🏼✨
take care guys. Its a bit difficult to hitch hike in Malaysia though.. Apologies. Hope you will continue to meet awesome and kind people of Malaysia through your travel here. careful walking on roadside. there might be nails, wood debris, bricks, small stones...
It is a little more difficult but it has been so much fun and the people are amazing! ✨🙏🏼✨
Can't wait to see what you get up to in Penang!!
We can’t wait to share!!! ✨
Ouchhhh... speedy recovery Kieran 💪💪💪 cheer up and enjoy Penang 😉 sending all the good vibes to both of you 😊 ❤
Thank you so much! Penang is incredible!!! We love it! Sending Love & Heartlight!
✨🙏🏼✨
Be careful out there guys!
Keep the vlogs coming 🩵
Thanks guys you too! And we for sure will! ✨🙏🏼✨
I love your curiosity for the more adventurous way, but agree, sometimes you have to be flexible + grateful for the easier path, when things aren’t unfolding as planned. ✨ What efficient + affordable transportation system Malaysia has 👌
It certainly does and we have mad plenty of use of it over the past 2 months of travelling here! 😁
Wow the part where he fell and silke started crying I almost joined the waterworks 🙈 be careful guys! Glad you are okay 🤙
Aww that’s so sweet! It was pretty scary as Kieran is never in pain, especially like this and he was so white! 👻✨
Pls take a good care guys.... watch out for any pot hole etc...oh yea pls chk ur leg again in clinic or hospital nearby ya.....hope u guys hv a good and memorable experience while in Malaysia.....tc
We got it checked and it’s doing good now! 😁
This is what I called the genuine traveler. Respect and have a safe journey guys 😊
Thank you so much! We do love travelling this way! 😁 have a wonderful day! ✨
You can buy iodine in pharmacy’s there and it’s much better than artificial cleaners for wounds and good to keep in your backpack too. Another great video guys
Aww thank you so much! We shall for sure look into that it is always handy to have just in case! 🙏🏼
You can buy meds, drugs at Watson or any pharmacy in 🇲🇾
@@SahifulTajuddin yup that’s what we did when we got to Penang! 😊
Well it's not easy to hitch hike here .. but as always there is ups and down hitch hiking.. that cut will. Leave a mark.. so as time goes by when u look at it u will remember Malaysia
Haha that’s for sure, I will never forget Malaysia! 🇲🇾✨
Take care guys ❤️
Thank you so much! You too! 🙏🏼
Urmm if you guys planning to hitch towards Kuala Lumpur after this, I will not recommend that… 3-4 times longer than Langkawi-Penang in distance & super-complex highways (road) with many destinations/exits even before arrive in Kuala Lumpur. I would recommend by electric train from Butterworth or flight in Island or bus. The cheapest alternative is by bus (Train & flight are faster but higher price rate).
Thank you for this information we will see how the adventure goes and how we feel! 😋 thank you! 🙏🏼
@SilkyRonTheRoad take the train please. Buses are cheaper but they will be traffic jam. Buy the normal class if you decide on the train.. It breaks my heart to see tourists crying at the road side. Be aware that many road shoulders have missing drain covers here. You can see that on penang already.
We will come back to Thailand❤️❤️❤️🇨🇷🇨🇷
✨🙏🏼✨
Silke, I know it’s not funny what happened but I was surprised that you were so panicky... poor Kieran trying to calm you down instead of the other way around, haha,. Glad to know he is feeling better 😄
I know. Sometimes I really panick. Especially when I saw a big chunk out of his knee!!🫣 but yes, Kieran’s knee is healing very good 😀 sending you so much love 🤎✨
The word Penang came from the word Pinang ( In Malay) or areca nuts in English..thus the word Penang is The Island of Areca nut..oh btw have you even come across any areca nut trees in Penang....I bet u dont 😊
We haven’t come across Areca Nuts, how are they? Are they tasty? ✨
@@SilkyRonTheRoad Those areca nut trees are tall as a coconut tree but a little slim and its nuts are similar size with a golf ball, it might be harmful to consume it, whereas the Indian community chewed it as a past time hobby
Ooh that sounds interesting! I’m sure that we have maybe seen one of the trees but just not known what it was! Thanks for this! ✨🙏🏼✨
@@SilkyRonTheRoad You are most welcome n enjoy your stay in Msia...keep cool bro
It's always better to use the public transport in Malaysia as it's cheap and convenient. Some times its not worth the hassle and risk to save the few ringgit. Safe travel guys!😅
Yes, the public transport is super convenient and cheap but we love to do this for the adventure, it’s not to save money. We love meeting local people and new experiences! ✨🙌🏼✨
@SilkyRonTheRoad It's fine that you have this practice while travelling, but not in Malaysia though. The hitch hiking culture here is almost non existence, and it's always more convenient and easier physically for the both of you to use public transportation now, especially with the leg injury and scorching hot weather. Stay safe guys!😅👌
@@nickloong haha thank you, we will for sure take time to rest! ✨
OH NOO!! please be safe, get well soon bro! you really need those legs!
Thank you so much! I am taking time to let it heal! ✨
@@SilkyRonTheRoad she really love you bro... take care of her
@@LanzFranchess haha I can feel that! ✨
Healing thoughts to you, Kieran. Oh, and, lol, I think you were in a women only coach on the train.
Thank you so much! And I thought that but I saw more men on the coach! 😋
the train even cheaper than plaster :D~
Haha that’s so true! 😂
The doctor may stitch it. Extra charge.
Hitchhiking is tough. Public transport is not expensive in malaysia
But hitchhiking is a lot of fun and an amazing adventure! Plus we meet so many amazing local people this way! 😋
@@SilkyRonTheRoad true but 50/50 you meet good and bad people. Not worth it.
@@SilkyRonTheRoad this is not Europe or America. Weather is bloody hot and it rains like hell, so hitch hiking is bad for health.
Ahh I disagree, I think mostly good people would pick us up.
We have been in Malaysia for 1 1/2 months and everyone who has picked us up so far have been amazing! 😁
Yup, unlike in the usa, hitchhiking is not popular at all in malaysia, so I suggest not to do so, unless you really have to resort to such mode.
On the other hand, what can happen in malaysia is those random people stopping for you when sometimes you don't even expect anyone to, and they'd either give you a lift, or give you something else (like that motorcyclist stopping, leaving, then coming back giving free drinks!)
Many years ago when I first started working in KL (when we say KL we can also mean klang valley which includes several cities and towns surrounding KL) I relied on buses and taxis to get anywhere including to work, and they could be a real pain lots of the times (it was less reliable than what we have now!) and plus the traffic jams... One morning while standing at the bus stop watching waves of cars streaming past endlessly while the bus was still nowhere to be seen and all taxis were already with passengers, suddenly a car pulled over and the guy asked where I was headed, and just like that I got a free lift, and I still managed to get to work just in time. Thank you to that kind stranger!
What a kind stranger! We have had a wonderful time hitchhiking in Malaysia filled with wonderful people and amazing experiences, ones that we will never forget! ✨
@@SilkyRonTheRoad great to hear! 👍 Stay safe and continue to enjoy your adventures throughout your stay in malaysia ✌️

1:51 ...is that the legendary Nissan Skyline R32?
I think that it was! Some of the cars in Malaysia have me drooling, I used to be sooo into cars! 😍
Hippest couple ever to grace our roads. Travel safe people ... fear more the speeding cars than the people. Malaysians are always willing to help whenever they can.
Aww thank you so so much! This means a lot to us! Malaysians are incredible, we love it here so much! ✨
ohh! Wat happened .? U "lego-fell"!!! ...in tat case ..dunever do mountain-hiking!nah...u r strong, man! ...continue ur honeymoon...❤❤❤❤
Haha thank you! I will keep on pushing on! It’s worth it for the adventure! ✨
That looks painfull and deep. Enjoy Penang's food while your wound recover and if you ask me, the sea water is the medicine for fast recovery 😂 Get Well Soon ❤
Thank you so much, I think that sea water will help too, let’s see if I can find some! ✨
Do you buy safety wings insurance? Just in case
It’s always best, just in case, you never know! ✨
Malaysia is the best country in Asia. The people, the food and the culture make it special. Penang for me is the food capital of the world.
We absolutely love it here! The mixture of all of the cultures is like nowhere else! ✨
Terbaik..

Always be careful guys when walking around
We try our best! 😋
I fell down two weeks ago. Bandaged my elbow and knee. Onto the asphalt road.
Silke has such a pretty voice.
Awww that’s so sweet, thank you 🥹
Hitchhiking is not accepted widely due to the risk of getting scammed or robbed. Malaysians are kind, but hitchhiking can be risky for pickup drivers. Travelling by train is a wise choice.
We have heard that, we hope that people feel safe when they meet us! We always have fun! ✨
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back
No more, no more, no more, no more 🎵
so u did hit the road literally..hehhehe..hope your knee is okey

That Pakistani men are very kind 👍
They are so so kind! ✨🙏🏼✨
Hitchhiking is not a thing... growing up we were told that hitchhiking is illegal...😂
That’s so funny, keep an eye on our vlogs to see how we get on, you might be surprised! 😋
Malaysians will not let both you suffers.. anyone will help.. even me.. but please dont promote others to come in to do the same.. its may invites and send wrong message about tourism in Malaysia..😅
That’s true! We just want to adventure in our own way and show others the beauty of Malaysia! We don’t think that a lot of people would travel this way! 😂
Hitch Hiking is illegal in Malaysia.
I don’t think so, we have asked a few people and even see the police and they never told us it’s illegal. ✨
You need to get an ankle support 😢
It’s doing great now! 😁
Cheaper to take a local bus or train
Yes, it’s very cheap here but public transport is not so adventurous! 😋
