I was in Kazakhstan in November for work and took the opportunity to do some sightseeing. I can assure you that I’m not surprised by the hospitality you received from the police officer. The people of Kazakhstan are very kind and welcoming, and the country is truly beautiful. I’m thinking of going back as soon as possible (I’m from Brazil, so the trip from here is a bit expensive and requires some planning). This video, in particular, is truly beautiful-you managed to capture the essence of the Kazakh people very well! :)

Back in the ’90s, we often visited our grandma in Taraz from Shymkent and remember how Mom always called the coach station from phone booths to check the weather conditions and road closures. Your video brought back those childhood memories-thank you! This road between the two cities is definitely one of the most picturesque routes in Kazakhstan, especially in the springtime. ❤

The "horses with horns" on the rocks are images of the auroch, the large and horny ancestors of the modern cows. Some of the drawings are actually horses with horns - but these gold-plated horns were attached to the heads of domesticated horses for ritual purposes by the ancient inhabitants of the Great Steppe. This is exactly how we find them buried with their owners in large Kurgans, the bronze-age burial mounds..
The Aisha-Bibi mausoleum that you visited in the video is from the Karakhanid Period (9-10th centuries AD), which is quite a bit older than most of the large mausoleums in Uzbekistan, which date primarily to the Timurid and later times (16th-17th centuries AD).
