    Every now and then I have to come back to this channel for a “grip check”.
    I found that if I start with my lead thumb at the 2 o’clock position and grip down from there, I get a firmer placement. Took it to the range worked like a charm. 👌 THX

      Love it! We want our videos to be a resource that you save and refer to when you feel your relationship with your club is wavering.

    I went away from a strong grip years ago, my draw turned more to a hook. But as I’ve gotten older that weak grip doesn’t serve me well anymore, ball striking and face control suffered. Discovered your channel and it’s been incredible. Would love to see you guys discuss how a player with a draw can avoid getting the hooks. Most content I’ve seen is slice fix related. Cheers guys

      Thanks, Rob! We can definitely get you a video on how to prevent the hooks with a strong grip. The main key is thumping the trailing edge and keeping the grooves of the clubface towards the sky. All about those thumbs like we discussed in this video 👍 Appreciate the support and glad we are able to help you.

    Great content! I have been working on this move for a little while. I cab tell you my swing has made dramatic improvements. What you are talking about with the release i was having difficulties with my thumbs rolling over causing the face to close and get step. But I finally have made some progress with consistency in having proper pressure to the handle with my palms to get the club to move around with a stable face and stable release.
    Good job with the explanation, sure helps when you detail the little moves and the casevand affect of the good grip and cause and affects of the bad grip.

      Thanks, Dan! Appreciate the kind words, and I'm beyond impressed by the progress you are having. Thumbs rolling is a very common mistake and I'm glad you understand the thumbs controlling the handle and face now. 👍

    What do you mean by “thumping” the trail edge?

      Palm on the thumb knuckle of the left, they say it constantly

    Quick question, when you say “lead thumb knuckle” you DON’T mean that knuckle under the fingernail correct?

      Great question! We mean the knuckle closest to your wrist 👐

      I see that’s very different.

    Thanks for this video; question regarding when you are driving palm to inner quadrant of the ball looks like the club face is wide open when you are showing this? Is this the way the club works?…wondering how the face squares up to send the ball to intended target without it being like a wide face open flop shot?

    • @claws_effect
      @claws_effect  Год назад +1

      Great question! The heel is leading the toe of the golf club as you strike down on the inner quadrant and if you are applying the proper pressure to the side of the grip (handle) the face is going to square up once the club hits the ground.

    Hey guys, I understand the pre and post contact positions but what about at contact? Am I releasing hinge through the ball or post contact? Thanks!

    • @claws_effect
      @claws_effect  Год назад +2

      Great question! You are maintaining hinge (angle in trail wrist) from pre - to post impact. What is "releasing" the lag and the club is the trail arm going from bent to straight from pre-post. At impact trail arm is straightening, but the cup is maintained.
