So i have seen this happen before but it does help if you use heat protection spray first before using your straightener and i have noticed if i spray the heat protection spray then brush my hair so the spray gets every strand of hair it does help but also make sure your straightener is not on the highest heat setting. if you can smell a like burnt smell it can be that you have the temperature on your straightener to high so then it will burn your hair easier.
