  • ESPN’s Ray Ferraro then stops by for some storytelling about his baseball days of long ago, but also a scouting report on Debrusk and the rest of the newcomers, including some high praise for the overall Canucks plan to take the next step.

I was a radio sports reporter in Trail in the early 80s. Ray was a great ball player. Between junior seasons he played senior men’s ball for the Trail Orioles and was tournament MVP playing second base in the BC men’s Championship in I think it was 1983 (held in Trail). Former Philadelphia Flyers brothers Jim and Joe Watson from Smithers played in that tournament, plus a young Kevin Reimer from Enderby, who went on to play with the Texas Rangers.

Elias made Kuzmenko a 39 goal scorer. A guy who’s realistically a 25 goal guy. He can definitely make a guy who’s been a 25 goal guy into a 35 goal guy. 🤞🏻

He could easily heal if he had a proper diet, which I can almost guarantee that he does not. After all; eating raw meat and drinking blood is way too unorthodox in today's modern society.

Uhhhh, no, pettersson didn't make kuzy a 39 goal scorer. Kuzy, when unencumbered by a coach trying to turn him into something he isnt, did that on his own.

Debrusk paced for 32g and 34g before, but he usually misses 10-20 games per year due to injury. I can't see him surpassing 35g but if he's lucky to play a full 82 games he likely cracks 30g, otherwise its status quo for him.

For their signings to be a success Heinen and Sherwood need to score between 15-20 goals out of both on average then that would be a big benefit for the teams success next year. Teams NEED 15 goal scorers thats the steady guy that can score that surprising goals when nothing looks like nobody else had an answer that game. These kinds of guys can always get you 5 extra wins by scoring when nobody else can. I think of Mikael Samuelsson from the last great team we had as an example

It pisses you off when people speak facts about Hyman.
Joe Thornton was not even as good as mcdavid yet he made cheechoo a 56 goal scorer.
Any other team he’s a 25 goal guy. Which isn’t bad, for his contract a 25 goal guy is underpaid.

We would need to see Pettersson in multiple years of play-offs to make a fair assessment. We'll see who he is post-season if he's ever given top line wingers and 50 playoff games over a few years. Then we'll know. He needs a Bertuzzi. Maybe DeBrusk can be a 3/4 size Bertuzzi? 😂
Petey was saddled in the first half season with Kuzzy and Mikheyev, neither could buy a goal. Then Hoggy who did okay but he'd be a 3rd liner on most teams. No wonder Pettersson had nothing left in the tank. But even with those slugs he had 89 points, +20.
