Christian just has a continues, thunderous, intense drumming style that is addictive. I have to admit, as a college radio DJ who didn't really care for Depeche Mode back in the 80's due to their electronic drum sound , I have rediscovered Depeche Mode almost 40 years later via RUclips.. I have always been a fan a drummers, and Christian is the quintessential drummer. Goes out, kicks ass, and doesn't steal the spotlight and doesn't take attention away from original members of the band.. He plays his ass of, and then ends the song's without fan fare or flash. That's the job of drummer. Because of Christian's contribution of the band, Depeche Mode has evolved and matured as a band. That's the key to bands who end up in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They grow, the evolve, and they mature. They write, produce, and play songs that stand the test of time. Who the hell wants to go see a band at a stadium with no drummer and listen to electric drums? That kick of the bass drum, that sound of a real wooden drum stick hitting a real metal cymbal is what stirs the soul, it's what makes you tap your feet. I love to play the drums in my basement.......or to be honest......I guess I'm just making noise. Regardless, isn't that what most of of us do? Pretend to be Rock Stars! Christian, if you are ever in Cleveland, Ohio visiting the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame", I'd love to have some drinks with you. Thank you for reintroducing me one of my lovers and mistresses since I was a little kid, the skins.

I saw Depeche Mode on Halloween in Boston (2023). I went with three other people. Christian’s drumming is fantastic. Your comment is so accurate. Christian gives Depeche Mode that complex, edgy sound. Great Comment!

Großartig! Und jetzt frage ich mich, warum DM ihn nicht einfach mit ins Studio nimmt, wenn man ein Album aufnimmt. Christian scheint ja nicht nur ein fantastischer Drummer sondern ein hervorragender Musiker im allgemeinen zu sein. Ich denke das würde dem Sound eines Albums gut tun.

Eigner es un baterista excelente e inspirador , que da gusto escucharlo porque tiene un sello propio que lo identifica donde sea que toque. Siento que no ha sido tan reconocido (lo que es una pena), puesto que Depeche Mode no se caracteriza precisamente por la batería y más aún cuando todavia hay muchos que siguen llorando por Alan , pero en una banda como AC/DC la hubiera hecho de oro. Me encanta escuchar sus colaboraciones. Ídolo

En gran parte de lo que escribes tienes mucha razón, solo que en MI OPINION es justamente lo que indicas, el es para una banda mas rockera, por que se extraña a Alan en los temas de batería, porque era más sutil, lo justo y necesario, sin exagerar, y Cristian tiene a exagerar, como digo es mi opinión, a mi en lo personal no me gusta lo que hace en DM, pero por ejemplo acá este tema es espectacular.
