U2 played this song at The Sphere right after the frenetic "Acrobat", slow things down with this one in a stripped down acoustic setting and then they launch into "Ultraviolet (Light my way)" with a spinning virtual mirrorball in the center screen showing band members and yellow and blue dots spinning around the 162k square foot LED screen. Great set that begins the ending of an awesome show that I saw seven times. Come back to St. Louis DM! 31 years is too long.

Love this! Great to see a band that is so much different from U2 play this so well, sounds awesome. I do think however that Bono's voice is better suited to the song.
I have now listened to this many times back to back with U2’s original. This is an incredible version by Dave and the boys (who I love). A darker retelling of the pain of unrequited love and a masterpiece in its own right. For me, however, this cover by DM somehow misses the evocative, plaintive vocal intonation of Bono in the original version and also the nearly subconscious urgency of the Edge’s riffs, notwithstanding that the musical composition is nearly identical to the original. At the end of the day, this song, which is now 30 plus years old, maintains its incredible poignancy for every person who has ever lost a great love.
