Loved seeing Rudy Cipollo as the bartender. Rudy was a notable mandolinist and composer in his own right and a friend of David's. It makes me wonder who the other cameos were.
The thrill is gone The thrill is gone away The thrill is gone baby The thrill is gone away You know you done me wrong baby And you'll be sorry someday The thrill is gone It's gone away from me The thrill is gone baby The thrill is gone away from me Although, I'll still live on But so lonely I'll be The thrill is gone It's gone away for good The thrill is gone baby It's gone away for good Someday I know I'll be open armed baby Just like I know a good man should You know I'm free, free now baby I'm free from your spell Oh I'm free, free, free now I'm free from your spell And now that it's all over All I can do is wish you well
Used to work in a fairly high end A/V store, when they used to exist, and this was one of my favorite demo songs, for the right customer. Got to see Jerry, and his "other" band about 50 times, plus the JGB a couple of more, and I met Dave Grisman after one of his shows, and shook hands and got his autograph, he signed "Dawg".
Having heard the original when it was first released as well as The Grateful Dead back then, it has since marinated nicely and is this new version is well appreciated. The video is wonderful; I love the card player..nice moves.
Awe my former boss Ricky Jay is the card shark here! He was one of the greatest slight of hand artists to date! He never understood why his stage manager freaked out when Jerry came backstage at one of Ricky's off broadway shows but didn't care when Madonna did the same. I had to explain Deadheads to Ricky lol
Love this song, I always wondered if there’s a edit done in the studio at 2:36 sounds like a punch-in / splice edit on tape done in recording studio ??? Hmm
I believe the actors in the video are famous for more than this video if anybody has that info I would like to be directed to the reference material..seems like everybody is known but can't "put my finger on it". I need a miracle.
I always loved this and the video is brilliant
Video directed by Justin Kreutzmann, son of Grateful Dead drummer Billy K. ✌️🇨🇦
And that's how the great ones do it!

These poor men 😢
26 years ago, we lost Jerry. Wish that I'd made it to at least one Grisman/Garcia show. Thank you very much for sharing this.
I made it to one, probably the best experience at a show!
I was today years old when I found this video. 🔥
The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone away
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away
You know you done me wrong baby
And you'll be sorry someday
The thrill is gone
It's gone away from me
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away from me
Although, I'll still live on
But so lonely I'll be
The thrill is gone
It's gone away for good
The thrill is gone baby
It's gone away for good
Someday I know I'll be open armed baby
Just like I know a good man should
You know I'm free, free now baby
I'm free from your spell
Oh I'm free, free, free now
I'm free from your spell
And now that it's all over
All I can do is wish you well
Thanks brutha! ❄️🌍❄️
I've got one question....
WHERE THE 'F HAS THIS VIDEO BEEN HIDING FROM ME FOR THE LAST 30 YEARS?
That is all.
Hahahaha! That's so funny and sweet :-). I was given the CD by an ex-boyfriend and it was the best gift ever :-).
I keep on coming back to it, buddy, already many years...
Jazzy!

Maybe another adjective would be better; more mature and fitting.

R u.kidding me - this is the best
Translation: Are you kidding me? This is the best.
Some of the best mandolin playing anywhere! We've got the TAB for both breaks, message us to get it :-)
I'd love to get my hands on those tabs
...but so long will I be...

He's just an old Hobo, Lost out in the rain...
Definitely get off on both David and Sherri but I must say, Joe Craven’s percussion is absolutely driving this song!
Wish it was HD
jerry's channel is not equal. could you look into that, please?
The guitar was turned down in the mix way low on the solo, sad
david was playin better on this jawn anyways
Can barely hear the lead guitar.
Why would they do that?
the guitar track is lost in the mix
I wonder why.
And you’ll be sorry some day…
859 likes? Oh god, what the F...people listen to?
Sorry but prefer BB KING'S version !
It’s not a contest. Just two guys paying tribute, honoring, BB.
