      @KingMacintosh it's just people who have problems that rant about it on the internet, most people don't write reviews if they don't have a problem. I have 6 Ford vehicles at the moment, 2 are Lincolns. I have a 2017 Ford fusion Titanium, 2015 Ford f150 Platinum, 2014 Ford explorer sport, a 2015 Ford Taurus limited, 2012 Lincoln navigator and a 2007 Lincoln Town car. The Town car is the only car with problems and that's just because it was used in a limo fleet and has 170k miles on it and 2000 idle hours. Just had to replace and transmission and now it runs great again. It's all about how you treat the car and maintain it.

There is a reason companies like ford and dodge as well as others don't just take their 5.0 or 6.4 and slap superchargers on them and call it a day.

    • @nkyryry
      @nkyryry 5 лет назад

      Npc_Hydra3 exactly. If it doesn’t have a supercharger on it, it wasn’t designed or engineered to have a supercharger on it. This will give him occasional reliability issues until the day he sells it.

  • @rosewd2

    Sounds like you fuel pump died, check the fuel pressure. Fuse, relay most likely not but check. Generally there is no code when the fuel pump fails.
    Turn the key on, listen to see if you hear the fuel pump primp up. Try banging on the tank.
    If it did fail check the voltage drop from the negative battery terminal to the frame , should be less than 300ma

  • @jakematthews6982
    @jakematthews6982 5 лет назад

    Newer Fords have a pressure sensor on the fuel rail in most cases and that info can be seen on the scanner. See if you can see the fuel pressure there and take note of it but don’t trust it completely. Use a mechanical fuel pressure tester. If you have adequate pressure check for spark. Your engine sounded fine as far as compression is concerned - didn’t sound weak while cranking. No spark doesn’t necessarily mean a bad coil or computer. At that point check for crank signal and cam signal. The crankshaft and camshaft signals are very important as far as fuel and spark as the computer uses those signal to set fuel and spark timing. Simple troubleshooting will narrow it down.

    Top choice: 1) Fuel pump ( older pump has to work harder to make those ponies), 2) Ignition coils and or plugs (old coils and new superchargers don't mix well), 3) Cam Timing Position Sensor or the variable cam timing mechanism (if the computer can't figure the timing correctly, it's going to have problems running or if the timing mechanism is acting up it can push the cam timing to a point where it won't run at all). The upside is that it did start back up in the morning so it didn't leave important parts laying in the street and it's just an inconvenience :D

    You have rod knock either the piston is slapping against the crankshaft or if your truck has rods that open and close the valves the spring on the rocker arms might not be tight anymore and is causing camshaft to be out of time witch would cause misfire or cause engine to not start properly or rough or just not work at all.

    When this happened to me my truck sputtered a little bit then began shaking/vibrating. I coasted it to Autozone to get the codes read and they were the same as yours. I bought my vctv’s from Ford (cheapest price) but had an issue taking the valves out. The hole in the valve cover was not big enough so I chipped out part of the locking flange on the cast aluminum valve cove and was able to get them out without removing the valve covers. Make sure to put a rag under the flange to catch debris. Your guy should be able to do this without any issues. If you need further help let me know. This should, by my guess, fix the issue. The valves were not expensive.

    I have a 2000 F-350 7.3L powerstroke and since I super tuned it, about every 3yrs the camshaft positioning sensor goes bad. I've just learned to have 2 or 3 on hand, in glove box, and when she starts shuttering and shuts down, I climb under with 10mm socket and screwdriver and change it out. Problem solved. But, if you let your engine cool all the way down, it will crank up and you should be able to get it home to fix it. Over excessive heat from engine being hyper tuned causes the CPS to go bad.

    Oil pressure is a great sign. Since it started up after sitting, I suspect fuel pump. Should be easy to check though - disconnect fuel line, hook up to a fuel pump gauge, turn key on and see if it holds and can build pressure for 3-4 minutes. Brian probably has a tool. Sending your truck to Florida to get looked before doing some diagnostics is kinda nuts IMHO.

    I haven't watched the full video, but it could be a fuel pump. On a lot of cars, they don't throw codes and if they just stop working, they usually don't trigger the check engine light either.
    Couldn't hear it real good, but when trying to start it, the starter didn't sound very strong though. Sure the battery is ok? Cuz if the alternator or belt dies, it won't take long for the battery to deplete.

      Im no expert mechanic but Im a little more clued up than Mike, but in saying that, Id rather an honest I dont know, than a string of words you want to hear but doesnt fix anything. To me my guess is going Fuel system, either water in the fuel or pump is going. Ive copped a bad tank before, and yep it'll run just like that with no codes thrown. If the tune is pretty lean to score the HP number on the dyno, he will be burning spark plugs even cruising around. I had a bike, that it doesnt like high octane fuel unless you beating on it. Other wise it just carbons up the plug. So i run a lower octane fuel for day to day riding and so far so good.
