Gothic - Hidden Places

- While finishing Gothic for the third time I tried to reach the bottom of the crack in the Sleeper's Temple. After my success I tried to find another interesting places that are hard to reach or easily missable while playing the game. After I did a bit of running around and searching I came up with these six places and decided to publish them in video. If you know about some other interesting places within the Gothic world, please let me know in the comments, I would really like to know :)
The list of places:
1. Bottom of the dark deep crack in the Sleeper's Temple
2. Orc shrine
3. Underwater house with a trapped air
4. Hole in the castle wall
5. Top of the waterfall in the New Camp
6. Fog Tower dungeon - Игры
This game is a Legend
there are more hidden places:
1. enter from underwater, near small bridge at the beginning of game
2. under waterfall, on the road to old mines
3. old man is hiding in vertical rocks, near old camp. you get some XP just by talking to him
4. underground secret room, under the floor where you first meet orc shaman
yes those are proper hidden places. this video is just bunch on places that you can easily get to and 2 that there is just no point in getting to
What you mean by 4?
🇬🇪
@@Scott-fj9uf what does he meant by 4?
@@denkotroi1440 You know the Ruin where you first mean Ur-Shak? There is a switch on one of the walls near him, once you press it the floor breaks and you (if you just stay there for a while) fall down into a room with a not so welcoming greeting. If i remember right then there are only a bunch of potions down there.
I see gothic i press like .
same here
bandites in mountains
Krzysztofux I literally found this one out a few days ago, never had seen it in all these years
you can actually glitch to these bandites from the first molerat you kill in the beginning of the game. The place where the rune to the pass is in G2. I figured that out in the first 2 hours playing the game 16 or 17 years ago xD.
You have missed a few as mentioned in other comments. What I haven't seen mentioned is secret path to the New Camp. The one the Old Camp used to take over the mine. It does exist and can be found if you do a bit of "billy goating". Leave the Old camp and turn left to go to the orc area past the guards. Continue straight until you pass the last orc scout and hop up on the shelf to your left.(If you keep going straight past the orc scout you would come to the crypt you explore with Milton) Once on the shelf, go up to the right and keep going up. You'll find it and it leads straight to the New Camp Mine.(Transform into bloodfly makes all this much easier)
One place I rarely see people going, even though it has loot and is easy to go to is below Urshak. Not the hidden place you open with a switch, I mean seriously below him down by the water. There is a cave guarded by Bloodhounds and you can see Xardas' sunken tower in the water nearby.
I was all excited when I saw the title of your vid, only to be saddened by the content. Understandable though since I stopped counting at 400 play-throughs. Plus I was a mod on a Gothic forum and know far more about this great game than anyone I have seen......with the possible exception of Wulf (A highly knowledgable forum member)
None of these are really Secret Area's
1st One: The underground tunnel , is a bit of a secret area (but there is nothing you can find there)
2nd One: If you explore the game you will automaticly find that Orcish shrine area (it's where the Swamp Dragon is located @ Gothic II)
3rd One: Now inside these houses you will bassicly find nothing , so it aint really worth diving there to seek for treasures and it really pops up if you look @ the water inside the New Camp
4th One: The hole aint really a secret area either , due to the fact you can't do anything there until you have the key from Bartholo & it really pops up (just like 3) if you look a bit.
4th One: Is nothing much (but i must say it , i never checked this one , in all my playthrough's)
5th One: The tower is in plain sight so again not really a secret although it does contain a secret which is a book about a very powerfull spell , which is 1 of the 6 books that you need to seek in order to get the Legendary spell (So i will count this one as a secret-ish area)
Now about this Stranger Side Quest (which is about the books which starts @ the Fog Tower) , if you are looking and willingly want to find all 6 books here are their locations :)
[Cromanin] [Keep in mind in order to pick up the books , u must get them in order] [I didn't do this Quests in my 3 runs due to the fact i forgot about it + i wanted to keep it for my 4th run which will be Hardcore Challenge] [This is a real secret of the game]
1st book: Fog Tower from the Skeleton Mage
2nd book: @ the Citadel where you will meet with Urshak for the very first time @ the top of the tower [In Gothic II this is the Fire Dragon's Location]
3rd book: Is @ a small strip of sand between the Castle & the Monastery where you will hunt for the focus stone with Gorn it's also very close & connected with the sandy strip near the beginning of the game
4th book: Infront of the New Camp on a small sandy strip near the huts on the lake (Outside the New Camp) , this book is guarded by 1 or 2 Lurkers & a couple of bloodflies.
5th book: Is near the sunken ship on the sandy shores (this location is used by most) to get the Tonque of a Fire Lizard for the Ulu-Mulu
6th book: inside the Fog Tower again on a corpse of a convict (near where you got the 1st book) , this corpse will only be here if you found all the other books.
Enjoy the Hunt guys :) for this is a real secret of the game ;)
Thanks for the long feedback :)
You're saying that these aren't secret places/areas but I didn't call them secret :) I called them hidden and they're pretty much hidden because you can finish the game even trying to do all the side quests and you can still end up without going to any of these places (or even without noticing their existence). Your second argument is that there is nothing in there (in the hidden places) but that's also something I didn't say - that you'll find something useful in there (treasure or whatever), I'm even showing everything what's in these places in the video. It's just what the name says - hidden places (but maybe "easily missable places" would be a better name). No offence taken, just saying :)
I just want to say that I am thankful for this video, cause videos like this keep games like Gothic alive. I think the title of this video is pretty fair, there is nothing wrong with it. The video shows some well hidden places I haven't seen before because sometimes you just don't know that you can enter certain areas. So the video was worth its existence! I don't understand why videos like this, that actually support the game and it's history always get criticized and disliked...
Your welcome my friend ^^ Sorry i have to respond with my new channel , but um my old channel got hacked :(
The hacker made 0.03 cents with it XD
But anyways i know they are hidden locations and not really secrets but people will quickly associate hidden stuff with secrets.
I just posted those things to make sure people know that the area's have no important meaning towards the game @ all.
These things are just all in-completed Quests materials , Gap filling locations , etc
I am atleast happy you didn't got offended by it :)
But i must say , even i had things wrong :p
Sample?: Chromanin books [6] doesn't give a legendary spell / weapon :p it only gives usefull exp
But never the less my friend :)
Keep up the good work ^^
Meikitamemo'sSteamStreaming (M.S.S) This book have name... emmmmmm Chromanin? (Thets in the Czech laguage)
What legendary spell, you get nothing for it. Just some xp for each of the books
There are no hidden places for me in Gothic 😄😄
@Kacper There is one. The locked room in the castle beside the smith area where Stone works. In the room there is a dex potion. Nobody knows where to get the key to this locked room.
@@5mwa I do
@@paulferenc Where is the key?
@@5mwa The door near Skip? No key opens that door because it doesn't exist, not even the iron key opens it (ITKE_OB_SMITH_01) that can only be acquired with cheat codes! there are plenty of unfinished details in the game and this is one of them.
You can only open it in the dark mysteries but not in the original game.
@@5mwa developers forgot to add it to the game. Some mods fix that
I recently played Gothic 1 for the first time. It's amazing to see how much I missed, and I thought I looked around quite a bit. I did find that orc shrine, but that fog tower dungeon completely passed me by. I'll have to remember to take a look at it the next time I play the game.
That feeling when you know all these places!
Эти места невозможно не знать, если ты проходил Готику хоть раз.
Дерьмовое видео.
The Fog Tower isn't really that hard to miss and can be seen from many places. It's just that the high level enemies keep you away for quite some time, which is why some players might forget about it.
The Orc Shrine isn't really hidden, just "locked" behind some very strong enemies (Orc Warriors). Ultimately it's not really worth it though, as the loot is average.
Some of the "hidden" content is more or less just "not finished" content. PB was running out of time and money and had to got Gothic out the door to mee the release date. And they were running on fumes, stressed out and almost broke as a developer.
In the swamp there's a weird light that doesn't do anything, meaning that it was probably meant for something and was never completed.
There's a big bandit camp in the same valley you access when fighting the troll with Diego. All the bandits are hostile and there's one named NPC, so there was probably a quest planned eventually, which was scrapped.
I think even the "The Stranger" quest in the Fog Tower was meant to be bigger, but had to be scrapped as well. Shame, because it was a really good quest.
Top of the Fog Tower have so much loot it makes game walk in the park and money (I mean ore in that case) is not a problem pretty much for the rest of the game.
Always loved this game :D
Next episode featuring super hidden swamp camp!
That's the most manly swimming I've ever seen lol also this reminds me of a 3d kings Field for some reason
I knew most of these... except the hole in the castle!
Never the less, good job!
Ok that Fog Tower Dungeon is freakin awesome!!
+Drawsler Yeah! And it's totally missable even if you do all the side quests during your playthrough. It's great how were the developers able to put so many different and interesting places into such a small world (for today standards).
you should check modification called "Dark Mysteries/Mroczne Tajemnice"
Nooooo, don't play Mroczne Tajemnice! It's anti climactic and has childish humour.
Very interesting, I've been playing Gothic my entire childhood (Gothic 2 is actually my first PC game), and I never knew you could get to the bottom of the crack, though the other I had already found out. Also, you forgot the Bandit's Camp, and (at least according to the game map) there also appears to be an isolated canyon north of it and the Troll Focus.
Plus, small "easter egg/secret" you could have added. Ingame, it's actually impossible to leave and ENTER the Barrier, you get a lightning in your head both ways.
Yes, you're right - the bandit's camp could have been in the video too since afaik it wasn't part of any quest. Thanks for the feedback.
Holy shit I didn't know about the last one.
Well made video
holy cow the last one O_o i didn't know at all....thanks
wow. I never knew about the number 2 wtf. I played Gothic so many times.
Welcome to the Colony!
i played this many times but wtf i never been to orc shrine im amazed o.O
Dude i played gothic 1 only once i discovered all of them except only one and that is the orc shrine i admit i didn't know about that one !!
the only one i did not know about was the first one cool. good job dude
thanks!
no problem. going to try it now.
yes it does work but i used god mode to do it. oh well keep up the good work
You forgot to mention the hermit who lives in the mountain beside the old camp. That one is really meant to be a secret place.
Yes, you're absolutely right. I don't know how could I forget about that man in a cave when I was doing the video. I definitely should have mention it.
Ahh yes memories of discovering new places.
02:55 protip: pull out your sword and run sideways into that door.
I agree with meiki's logic. those aren't really locations because there is not really much to do except for the the fog tower, which is not really hidden.
also what i miss in addition to the bandit camp near troll focus is the small cave in the mountain/stonewall to the north just outside the old camp, where you can meet gilbert who flet from the old camp i think (you can talk to him, loot him/his chest, no quest however)
That little cave with Gilbert really should be in the video, I agree. I just forgot about him while making.
You forgot the cave in the Stone Mountain near the old Camp! 😉
Yes, you're right! Other people mentioned this one too. I knew about the cave back then but I just forgot to put it in the video. Some day I would like to remake this video with a higher quality video capture (and with the cave and some other secrets added and maybe even voice-over instead of text) since this one has horrible framerate issues and overall low quality.
i remember when I found the houses under water :)
the second and the last are very secret
...
I wouldn't call places that are pretty much a landmark on a map hidden. All of these should have been found by all players if they not only follow the main questlines blindly and explore a bit. It's nice to see people do such videos, but you could use proper hidden areas like the cave behind the waterfall near the old mine or Gilbert which is hidden on a cave where you need to climb up to. There are still a lot more out there, that REALLY are hidden. You should check these out.
Also..... The crack in the Temple... is this Aprils fools? The only thing that you should get is death when you fall down. That is what it is.
wow, thats some production value in this video... where did you get the gothic 1 font? can you give me the name?? i remember looking for it sometime ago on the internet when i was younger but didnt find it.
only found it in cyrillic alphabet not the latin one
Hi, the font's name is Gothic Titel Offiziell and it can be found here:
www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_137.htm
thanks!!
This is like using cheats to go outside of the map and say that this is "a hidden place"...
nice
I missed the bandit camp near the troll in this list
I agree, it maybe should be there. I just thought that it's too big and not very hidden but you're right - it's easily missable so it could be on the list too.
Who's that guy called Bartholo? Where can i find him? I've found a Baloro at the mine close to the New Camp but he doesn't have any key on him
Before Old Camp goes rogue he is standing just left of Gomez. After the camp is closed he is in the room where you teleport to with the teleport rune.
пещера под водопадом между старой шахтой и пляжем с гоблинами
gothic Are epic game ever made
where i get the key to this many doors at 2:50 ? i only ca enter to this places with cheats
okey thanks
How is your version so smooth?
What do you mean by smooth? The framerate? I've never had any problems with the framerate of Gothic.
If i turn, its laggy, if i run, its throwing me back and forth
Ok where are those Hidden locatioins?
Wom wom... Wom wom
Düdeldüm. Düdeldüdel düm
lol hidden?
Я искренне извиняюсь, но почти все места не секретны, только про водопад вот интересно, но там ничего нет, а это как-то бессмысленно!
This is not hidden for me
not the best video but still nice game
Thank you. I would have done it differently today but back then I had a very slow computer. It took a lot of trouble to even record the footage and render the final video. I sometimes think about doing another and much better Gothic video, so maybe one day I'll make it.
