Thanks for a great video, it worked :) It's all about finding that perfect spot behind the statue, and staying in range so your keep doesn't lose the staff buff. I recommend using /sw (the stopwatch) and click start every time you hear him say Bow to my will! or Obey me!, then move into LoS once the timer is close to 30 seconds.
Great video! It's worth noting that the fire pillar is a 1 shot even at 85 so spending much time in LoS of the boss is a big risk since you might get disoriented into the fire pillar.
i forgot to mention that... at 85 you actually have a high chance of the attack missing but if it does hit you it is a one shot. Thanks for the comment :D
@@Scorpob I got one shot by it on an attempt but it overkilled by about 15k at 100% HP, so with next tier's gear it may be survivable. Also Bestial Wrath breaks the disorient.

Looks like Blizzard just fixed the Staff on this encounter to finally work correctly! So changes now that the bug is fixed: In Phase 2, pick up the "Staff of Disintegration", equip AND USE the item. this will make you completely immune to all the stun, conflag and disorient effects through all phase 3, 4 and 5. So the remote toy debuff, the mage's conflag, AND Kael'thas' disorient effects are all completely nullified by this and it should now be a far more forgiving and easier encounter! I remember watching Raegwyn solo this on Blood DK back in og Cata. His strat was cool. It involved clearing a ton of trash though, but you had to as a melee class. His video is still up. Really cool to watch in comparison to this.
took me 20 wipes to get him down hopefully way less next week. The right pillar in p3 kept bugging the boss and couldnt figure out how to fix that tried the pillar on the left which still bugged but way less common and got him down.
Use glyph of misdirection. I put talents in the description showing what you should probably use for this, basically whenever it wears off you wanna be putting it up again, pet by itself isn't too good at generating a lot of threat
Can't say for sure... With strong gear and the right talents maybe. I'm no expert on locks but I'd say it's worth a try if you know your class well. If it doesn't go well you may need to wait for bug fixes from the staff or stronger gear from later phases so It won't matter as much
@@spiritualviking8094 pointless alone? Unless I'm hard reserving the mount I'm never bringing anyone tbh. Much more effort finding guildies to do it, hunter solo only takes about 20 mins from flying to org to killing him now, and you're not rolling against anybody, this is fairly easy now

you need a pet though. Ive been trying to solo this at 85 since OG cata on my druid. i tried pulling the warrior to the begging of the instance because it teleports you back into the room on phase transition so he has to run allllll the way from the dungeon entrance. I have tried LOSing with statues. There is just no way to kill the mage with all of the cc from the advisors as a melee. IDK what else to do. Im feral druid and maybe my only chance is if i somehow got full bleeds (or close to it) on the mage but its impossible. Maybe ill try pvp trinket. Is there any way to drop their debuffs? If i was able to get passed the advisors i would be fine.
I'm not sure about the other classes but I know blood dk can do it! This guy is doing it in cata classic... maybe you could use strategy he uses that applies to your class to help? I would say to equip and use the staff since doing that normally would provide immunity to disorients and to the mage's conflagration CC but it's currently bugged... it may be annoying to do 😅 not sure if possible

What you have to do is fight outside the arena, separete all the adds in different parts of the raid, then when the 3 phase comes out you will fight then individualy. Been doing this on my blood dk for 3 weeks now.
Mind Control doesnt happen since youre the only person in the raid, the only way that can happen is if you Army but its a very low chance. Been soloing on my dk for 3 weeks now.

This encounter is an absolute cesspit of bugs. Its not worth the infuration.
This is very doable now when the staff is fixed, just gotta dodge those mindcontrolls!
Use to solo this all the time on my blood dk back in wrath but the mount never dropped. Did it weekly for almost a year.

im having issues in p2 with weapons. pet cant seem to be able to hold any real aggro on them...
Use glyph of misdirection. I put talents in the description showing what you should probably use for this, basically whenever it wears off you wanna be putting it up again, pet by itself isn't too good at generating a lot of threat

is there any minimum iLvl gear?
anything's pretty acceptable as long as you know what you're doing, i've done it as low as 330 ilvl on a hunter
pretty sure most classes can kill kael in cata
could be wrong though that was 13 years ago
