Those 3 are disaster curse while Mahito is different because he is the personification of fears of human to other humans very different from nature curses
Funny, during the entire anime, Hanami seems to be the only one Mahito had slight affection for. I'm saying "slight" very generously because he treats everyone else like garbage.
Mahito;s nature is selfish and wants to destroy everything for his fun. That is why Sukuna secretly admires Mahitos resolve to improve and evolve as a curse/being hence why he gave him the "smirk" after Mahitos 0.2 domain expansion Plan to not be able to touch Sukuna's soul.
He likes jogo tho, he gave him a pipe that was a transfigured human once and was happy when he saw that jogo was fully healed, he was also happy when dagon drank all those humans
those 3 disaster curse spirits made mahito as the leader, while mahito himself dont give a f about anything/everyone around him beside torturing humans and trolling yuji
Mahito had that Sukuna mindset of not caring about anyone or anything but himself and to continue to evolve kill destroy anything. hence Mahito was a true "Disaster/Calamity" but Jogo as OP as he was, he's hella soft wanting to have the curses attain Human Status of living on Earth normally.
Mahito is one of the most despicable and cursed spirits in the entire series, but man, I love him as a character. He is so well-written, and his voice actor understood the assignment so well. He did an amazing job.
@@antiskyze Honestly all curses are an "it", Mahito can literally alternate between both sexes at any time. Its just that calling them "he" is more natural since they look like men. In the manga Hanami has no voice, which is the only female feature it really has, and has a "manly" body. Since the manga came before the anime, one would see why "he" would be preferred over "she". I still prefer "it" though.
@@j.s.ospina9861Yeah but it honestly depends on how they incarnate. Maybe Jogo was a female in one incarnation. I feel like the Japanese Kami were curses. Kagutsuchi, the God of destructive flame was beheaded by his father, Izanagi and his body became volcanoes if I remember correctly. Sounds a lot like Jogo.
I love how Jogo, Dagon, and Hanami are curses born of human fears of the Earth/Natural Disasters, The Ocean, and Wilderness. Mahito is essentially humanities fear of itself, mortality, and frailty/disease. He's only been around recently in the scale of things, so he's much more short sighted and rash in his goals and techniques, which I think is great characterization.
I always felt he wasn't truly evil he just didn't like humans but he was the only one who was genuinely sad about hanami and dagon he really wanted what was best for curses.
Jogo and mahito didnt took hanami's death that seriously because curses will reborn after 200 years with their memories so its like waiting for a long time to see your friends again
Crazy someone I was arguing with told me Mahito cared about his fellow disaster curses. Like, they were saying Mahito shouldn't go to hell because "he's not human" and so "we shouldn't judge him by human standards".
@@animesaucesenpai Oh, I don't, and I understand that. But that doesn't stop the fact that he's evil. Regardless of origin, he actively took pleasure in psychological and physical torture. That screams hell to me
@animesaucesenpai Absolutely. Gotta love characters who are written for the sole purpose of being hateable. And yet some people still defend him and his actions 😮💨
I didn't interpret that as nonchalance, but genuine shock. Almost like he literally forgot to compute that one of their own could die. Also, to non-watchers: Jogo had gone through the whole stages of grief before this scene. Another curse, Dagon, takes it even harder. They do care about each other.
I can't get a single thing about mahito I litterally don't know what he wanted, what he cared for, what was his idea of evil, what was bad or good for him I think he just enyoied killing but that was kind of an empty evil, just kill for the fun kind of weird But you know, maybe thats the point
That is EXACTLY the point When Jogo was dying, Sukuna criticized him for trying to be human, for not burning down everything in sight without a care in the world and forming bonds. A curse spirit, at the end of the day, is built off of negativity. Destruction isn’t just in their nature, it IS their nature. It is why Mahito grew so fast, because he only sought destruction and furthering his own power. Out of all the disaster curses he is the only one who didn’t betray his nature It is why, to beat him, Yuji had to cast aside all meaning and dedicate him to the sorcerer’s purpose of hunting curses. It is the purpose of the “I’m you” segment
@@allhui5828 Yeah, it actually is why Jogo is my favorite character because he, in an effort to prove curses should replace humanity, deviates from what it means to be a curse. He grows attached to Hanami and Dagon. He sought to recreate the world over simply tearing it down. He lived banded together with others, comparing two wholes and focusing on identity instead of giving into the burning hunger for destruction he was born into. Both of his losses are born from this flaw with his nature He lost to Gojo because he grew confident that curses were superior to humans He summoned Sukuna because he believed that only someone else could bring about his desires and even in the battle never risked summoning his domain simply because of a defeatist mindset If Mahito is an example of a curse embracing its nature, Jogo is an example of a curse drawn as far away from what it means to be a curse as possible. It makes you wonder if not for his nature of a curse, would he have even been a bad guy?
