Honestly, everyone at Lalande goes all out to improve the beautiful place. Phillips painting, you and Micheal cooking, Maria cleaning, Pavlina making rod cages for daffodils, Amaury, Kersey and Davey in the garden. You are all awesome. Micheal full of pigeon poo, but now a pigeon daddy too.Everyone is just bustling for the opening of B&B season. It is much better than Downton Abbey. Much love to you all.
I was so glad to see Michael taking his job seriously, you do have to be very careful with bird & bat droppings due to histoplasmosis…a former co work lost sight because of histoplasmosis, another friend was on treatments for weeks, once nesting is over I would block birds totally
And pigeon mites are a problem as well. Where I once worked in a historical building it had to be fumigated due to pigeon mites. I remember waiting for a bus after work. I was wearing a yellow top and I looked down to see I was covered in black bugs. I tried to discreetly brush them off before getting on the bus. 😳😳 Some of my co-workers also got an allergic reaction to them. Also pigeon poo damages stone buildings over time.
Love flowers. My husband had a green thumb. But as soon as I touched something it died. Lol!! I guess I don’t have the touch!! Lol!! Lol. Kitty wasn’t going to have anything to do with working!! Maybe next time!! Hee hee!! Nothing like a good cookie. Just love them!! The molding around the room is absolutely gorgeous!! Love it!!! Such a great episode!!
Those fancy double tulips are as a gardener I consider one and done. They look beautiful the first year but never look the same after that. The stems become shorter and need stalking as they fall over. So they are expensive and not cost effective. When planting tulips for reblooming, buy Darwins as they multiply year after year like a daffodil. 😊
I think the cages in the garden look pretty, Pavlina is certainly paying her way with all the great projects she has undertaken, she's been a real asset.
Hi! I’m a Singaporean Chinese. It’s interesting to note that Maria has used the same method to measure the amount of water to cook rice as the one I was taught when I was a little girl forty years ago!
I love the cages Pavlina made, really nice. I hope they serve their purpose! Regarding the pigeons: you need to fix the wire really well and the edges and also close the smaller wholes in the wall as pigeons are really intelligent and manage to get through even very litte gaps. We had this problem in a covered inner courtyard in Vienna….
I love watching Maria get organized. I really wish someone would paint those big kitchen cupboards. That would go a long way to freshen up the kitchen...one day.
So much going on today, Wow! The garden hedge will be beautiful with all the bushes. Maria doing the spring clean plus Phillip painting, the sculptured wall cornices and the de pigeoning was a good job done. The meal looked lovely. Good to see you are well again Stephanie. Thank you all. 💕🇦🇺
That is a very wonderful reuse of the bendy twigs. It's so attractive. Pavlina is so brilliant. Poor Michael Potts doing a very necessary and dirty job of pigeon control. I never saw baby pigeons before. Thanks for sharing all that in detail. Is the bedding dry cleaned or laundered? You have an army of very talented people who give so much of their energies to the upkeep, and designs inside and outside.
Michael’s lion photo is amazing. Activities all over the chateau. Everyone is so busy and everything is looking terrific. Had a laugh about Maria and the handles facing the same way, I do the same thing. Don’t feel so weird now.
Omg, Micheal, your projects have my ears perked up, I am sure there are a lot of us who love, love nature shots and a story as well!!! I am waiting with bated breath. Love the video, Phillip you are really productive, wow, but you are a designer, it is in your blood.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING ON A SUNDAY!!! 🦋 Its nice to see Amury and his wife from Castle Ten Berghe. He has such a lovely family and beautiful home. 🦋 Having Michael around is alot of fun. Great to see all the happenings going on around the Chateau. Lots of hard workers. 🦋
Ooh ! 🌸🌸🌸
Always great to see Michael.. looking forward to seeing more of him in the future 👍😊 Paulina is also a great addition to your family 😊 always working on a project 😊
Everyone needs a Michael Potts in their life!!! I think I will try Pavlina's idea of the bending twigs, maybe they will keep the rabbits and squirrels away from my tulip leaves, they are getting all chewed up!!! Oh, and another thing that you have inspired me to do....I now drink my tea (Bigelow Lemon Lift Black Tea) with a little bit of half and half and Stevia. Your gardens will be beautiful this year....you are a blessed lady Stephanie to have so many people helping you restore Lalande.
As much as I thoroughly enjoyed this Sunday vlog which was a special treat for so many reasons, I'm happy to be here at home soaking up the sunshine at 32 degrees Celsius. As for Pavlina"s neat branch wigwams, I hope it proves successful against invading peacocks since it had to have been a great deal of work whipping all those rebellious branchlets into shape. Especially as they whipped back! Now we know how Pavlina's garden grows.
I can confirm that that trick with the rice works even for the most amateurish (like me!) cooks. An Asian friend told me about it years ago and I have never had failed rice since. The proportions work in a saucepan or a rice cooker! Thank you for the video!
If you planted the yellow tulips I send you you will have double yellow Charming Ladies! The one you showed is one of those! Pavlina did a wonderful job with the twigs and its very decorative!
My goodness! That picture Michael captured of the young male lion is absolutely gorgeous! What a talent!!!! I will be subscribing to his second channel as well!
Thank you for caring about the pigeons, Stephanie! Obviously they can't be allowed to poop all through the attic but they are domestic creatures and deserve some shelter 🤎
I love seeing the hive of activity and all the wonderful people who have become a part of LaLande. Never a boring moment. I love Michaels photos, so I will pop over to see his new channel. The dedication everyone has to make the garden just as Davey envisions it, is truly wonderful to see. I can't wait until your gazebo is put up, it's been a long time coming. I hope it goes up this year. I love Maria's disciplined approach to ensuring the kitchen stays clean and organized, streamlining it to ensure efficiency. When you have multiple meals to prepare each day, the last thing you want is to take time to re-clean and reorganize. I like to clean as I go and have a place for everything as well. I hope all your guests this year have a wonderful time at LaLande.
Everyone so busy pitching in with the work. Poor Amaury and busting granite so not easy. He needs a getaway for sauna treatment and massage and dear Michael Potts with a very dirty and unhealthy job. I would have nightmares from that job! And what perseverance your Phillip has what with painting at least 3 coats on that ceiling and trim. I can’t leave out the ladies with plantings and cleanings, oh my!! May this season for the B&B bring many new and returning guests at the Chateau🥰
Hey Stephanie and Michael… Debbie (and Paul) here.. so lovely to see the video and be able to relive the day. Once again was wonderful to meet you and share such a lovely experience with you both….
How lovely to hear from you! It was such a fun experience, and Michael and I both felt very lucky that you were the other members of our group, it was such fun!
Yet another fun vlog with so many amazing projects and wonderful people. Can’t wait to see M. Potts new vlog. His photo of the lion is spectacular. Love seeing Ruby supervising the garden project. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
Thanks so much for the lovely vlog. Too bad the weather didn't cooperate for Davey's visit and everyone participating in the garden but beautiful to see the result! I have noticed that whatever weather you have mid week, we get 4 or 5 days later in the southern part of Ontario Canada. We enjoyed your Easter spring/summery weather late last week andthis weekend. The forecast is to be cold and rainy tomorrow and for a few days after. Thanks for the preview! big hugs
It is great to see Amaury and his family enjoying themselves away from their Chateau. And I look forward to Michael's new channel. It's a great idea. Your cooking lesson looked like it was so much fun and delicious. 🙂🇨🇦
yes, our gardens love the rain. I love the time in the garden its beautiful... Loved the work kevin ois doing as well. as a chef I love seeing the food being made! Phillip, you are really going for it.
Yes please. Shame I can’t have some chicken. That look scrumptious. Philips painting of the cornice and ceiling is something I loath doing so my admiration is shinning through. The granite looked very heave going and the same with the pigeons. No thanks to both of those. Thank you. 👏👏👏❤❤❤🤩🤩🤩
Another great vlog the new hedge looks great and Yay can't wait to have a look at Micheals new RUclips chanel I love photography it one of my passions but not so much the formula 1 so very much looking forward to seeing all the other types of photos Micheal has taken and the story behind them.
I love seeing Mr. Potts involving with the chateau and a new channel of his ! The chateau is fresh and ready , thank you for the Sunday vlog it is so much needed, we all miss the Sunday at the chateau !❤I wish you a happy B&B season !
I love watching you all! Today reminds me of what gardeners have done for centuries to create charming gardens. I'm excited to see the flowers and plants of spring and summer to bloom at Chateau de La Lande. :) You've all done soooo much work. I can really see the progress of the Chateau. Your home is thriving.
The iron rod that Kirstie has found could be an opener for some valve of a water pipe in the ground. Probably it had wooden handles that have disappeared.
Great to see the happenings at LaLande, especially the garden work and the pre season back of house preparations for the B& B season. I’m sure that takes enormous effort each year, and includes a lot of book work and contact with guests for you and Nati! Well done everyone! 🥰🥰
What a delightful episode to watch on a windy showery day! Lovely to see all the nitty gritty stuff going on around the Chateau with such great teamwork too. Lots of fun helping to light the load.👏❤️
The crown mouldings are gorgeous 🤩
It's so great to see Michael again in so many videos! Especially in the recent moat plunge!
"Deliciously dreadful" and "most murkful?" You are the most alliterative weather reporter anywhere! I love it!
I love, love, love the room. Wall paper is magnificent, and molding too!!!
Michael’s presence at the chateau sometimes seems to lift Stephanie’s spirits.
Kevin did such a nice job with the mouldings in the room

Glad you mentioned that. Pigeons are very dirty birds 😞 (sorry Stephanie. I know you're very fond of them and they do look lovely in pictures)
Did anyone else notice that Michael almost said “poo-geons” just after the 17:46 mark? It was so serendipitously hilarious!
😱 but how does that happen?
@@300books If Stephanie loves pigeons perhaps a pigeon loft in the walled garden or Jardin d’anglaise could be the solution. 🕊🕊
Love flowers. My husband had a green thumb. But as soon as I touched something it died. Lol!! I guess I don’t have the touch!! Lol!!

It's wonderful to see more of Michael at the chateau, even if he is covered in pigeon poo. Pavlina's garden cages look fantastic!

He needs to enter that lion photo into the yearly contest. It's STUNNING
I think the cages in the garden look pretty, Pavlina is certainly paying her way with all the great projects she has undertaken, she's been a real asset.
I totally agree!
those cages for the flowers look so perfect
fun to watch- can't wait to see the garden room
I could listen to Michael Potts for hours.
Pavlina is such a gem. ❤
Hi! I’m a Singaporean Chinese. It’s interesting to note that Maria has used the same method to measure the amount of water to cook rice as the one I was taught when I was a little girl forty years ago!

😊💚🐈💚😘
Rare sighting but good to see her looking healthy.

@@caroleharden3055 Ruby - him?? I thought with a name like Ruby he was a she!! Whatever, he is very cute. He must miss Diesel.
Yes he was named before it was discovered that he is Male. 😂😂
So lovely to see Michael Potts again! His personality and sense of fun is charming!
He and Hugh Grant could be brothers :-)
@@JoeTheLion60 he seems much cooler than Hugh Grant

Maria has earned the asian nods of approval for use of the knuckle rice measurement trick, bravo!
I learnt that from my Asian husband too - works a treat every time 😊
I learned this method from my mother who lived in Indonesia for a number of years. Worlds every time.
I love watching Maria get organized. I really wish someone would paint those big kitchen cupboards. That would go a long way to freshen up the kitchen...one day.
I’m hoping once the lake is back in , they get a new kitchen

The twig system is so pretty in the garden.
I did this last year and they started to grow. It looked so funny as green buds grew from apple branches
My six year old neighbor made a fairy fort out of bendy twigs last week. 🧚🏻♀️

Michael Potts has such a million dollar smile.
Thank you so much for all the joy!! 💛💝💛

Looks delish! I agree with Maria's rice water measured by finger. I go just above the first knuckle of the index finger. Works with all types of rice!
I double the water to rice. Works everytime.
