    Nice how would you do it with a enterprise 3 drone where it already has a rtk can you do it without using gcps. Also can you export the elevations to cad and show what each elevation is?

    How do we go about adding GCP on a local Arbitrary Site datum Scale 1.0. A quick position function on the web aerial photo would be great?

      Currently, you will need to process project to a world coordinate system.

    Does this work with RTK? If so, are there any changes to the process shown in this video?

    • @VirtualSurveyor
      @VirtualSurveyor  Год назад +5

      The drone photos shown in the video are RTK. Here is the difference. When your camera positions are GPS quality (4-6 meters), the initial model will be less good and you might have to zoom in / search a little more to mark the ground points. But after a cycle or two, the model will be as good and your cursor would be spot on for the remainder of the sequence (you might decide to start the processing at this point). When the camera position are RTK/PPK quality (2-5 cm), the initial model will be immediately good and you model will be max quality after 1 cycle of marking ground points. Obviously with GPS camera position you would need more ground points, equally spread over your site.

      @@VirtualSurveyor I already commented but it's gone. We flew a project using RTK. SoCal zone 6, NAVD 88, localized on an MWD baseline done with static observations. My data is feet off on the control points. Went back to check targets, perfect! Model did not improve as we located targets like in the video. Can you help figure this out? Surface model is of course terrible too!

      @@tomthomsen990 A possible explanation. Did you use the same base station for the drone and the ground points? If you measure the ground points with a local base station and use OPUS for your drone /camera positions than it will not work. Use Opus for both, or use the local station for both. Let us know!

    • @tomthomsen11
      @tomthomsen11 4 месяца назад

      @@VirtualSurveyor We used our ground based base station for locating targets and for the drone flights. We ended up using Caarlson PhotoCapture and got as mush as 0.5' verticle errors compared to the ground shots even though the report showed the control to be very tight. Briton has since let me know that the Terrain program has been updated and I'm trying it now 8-6-24. See you in Vegas next month!

    How do i add a coordinate system and vertical datum that isnt in the list?

    • @VirtualSurveyor
      @VirtualSurveyor  Год назад +1

      We support coordinate systems that are in the EPSG database. If you can't find your vertical datum, then you can always process at ellipsoidal elevation. Afterwards, you can offset the DSM with Offset Z in Virtual Surveyor: support.virtual-surveyor.com/en/support/solutions/articles/1000292287-adjust-the-elevation-terrain-to-your-geoidal-or-local-height

      Terrain Creator app + Virtual Surveyor app both come with any of the Ridge or Peak subscriptions. I have run it on an AMD Ryzen. Give it a go and let us know. You can download the trial version from here: www.virtual-surveyor.com/download

    • @VirtualSurveyor

      The latest version will install both apps, the Terrain Creator and Virtual Surveyor desktop app. There will be 2 shortcuts on your desktop or you can search for Terrain Creator in your taskbar Search. And a nice trick: if you drap and drop your drone photos in Virtual Surveyor, then a Terrain Creator project will be created and openend automatically!
