- Every year, two days before Christmas eve, Spencer often takes a special train to Carlisle with the Fat Controller's pullman coaches filled with important people like the Boxford's. But one day, things were different when Flying Scotsman, Scott, came to the Island on a rail tour.

That is a good story for Spencer
This is the perfect representation of 2 special trains (one for the elite and wealthy and the other for all the working class). Another example is the New York Central’s 20th Century Limited and the Pennsylvania Railroad’s Broadway Limited
When we were wondering when there would be an episode about Spencer for NWR Tales...well, here it is! And I almost thought Flying Scotsman was going to be the main character when seeing that S11 trailer.
Anyhow, I can relate to Spencer too when it comes to bratty kids at a younger age and it can be a little annoying. And also, the message his driver gave to him about what Christmas is all about is very fair as it's not about being glamorous. I really love the shot of him at the beginning pulling a lot of the Pullman coaches and the interaction between him and Flying Scotsman is phenomenal! Looking forward to the final episode of this season!
I can relate to Spencer too because I was once egotistical just like him.

That was an excellent Christmas episode. Spencer really got put on his place after being mean to Scott. I'm glad his driver talked some sense into him. Merry Christmas 🙂.

I'd have thought that Scott would have known about Santa Specials, given that he was touring preserved railways in the early 1990s.
Also, does the Pullman run via Whitehaven, Penrith or Ais Gill?
