I've tried doing these pens for a Christmas gift for someone this year and instead of cutting off the cap piece on the end, I just added small bling to the nib and small silver flat beads to the barrel with the rest of the beads. Thank you for your tutorial. Love your work!
this will be the first time that I suggest to anyone that is serious about paper bead crafts to watch any of your videos , you really know what you're talking about , and your videos are very informative and very simple. Thank you .....Julie A.Bolduc.....for doing all the hard work you do just to make it easier for someone like me. I appreciate you. ~Emily~
LOVED the pen idea! Can't wait to try it! Thank u so very much for sharing. I'm always looking for gifts for our Women's Ministry, i KNOW they will love these! I'm also excited about trying the Pandora beads. Again thank u for sharing. God bless u!
These wre so cool 🎉 I have a? Can you dip them in the PC Petrifier after they've been glued on the pen tube? OMG I didn't wait for you to finish. Lol!!! Thank you 😊
while i absolutely Love the concept of this, because it takes a basic pen and turns it into something special. I'm not sure of the actual design factor. I'm not sure if you've ever noticed, but on a bic ( and 90% of all other brands) there is a tiny hole on the barrel of the pen. these holes equalize the pressure from the inside of the pen to the outside avoiding leakage. by covering the hole you've just opened you're self up to having your pen explode on you. Not sure how many of you are aold enough to remember when that would happen frequently, until they started putting the hole in it. This is such a beautiful pen that i would want to carry in my purse and show it off. But not sure if i'm willing to take the chance of it expolding in my purse. Especially living in the midwest where temperature & barometric changes happen in the blink of an eye. I
Thank You! Most of the year, I don't use anything except just keeping my hands clean. In the winter, I use hand lotion at night when I go to bed. Usually Jergen's Hand Lotion. Nothing special. Other than that, I don't drink or smoke so I think that may have something to do with how they look. I have in the past but it has been 35 years since I smoked and since 2009 since I had a drink. Before then, I had single drink, only once in a while.
really beautiful work, love the way you did these lovely pens, and enjoyed watching your video, but I wonder is there a way to use up old plastic pen tubes,,for beads themselves?!!,as glitter and patterned duck tape can be used too,and a good gloss sealer for shine,or go total bling I think it could work ,what do you think?!!!!🍁🌹🌷🌸🌼💠🐝
These pens are so super gorgeous. Instead of the wood PC Petrifier, wouldn't Modg Podg or any clear drying glue work just as well. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a fun day. Surie
+KINDERKRAFTS You can just skip the wood hardener and use a 1/2 and 1/2 dilution of plain white glue like Elmers and water. The colors may run if you use solid colored card stock, non permanent markers or printer ink printed on paper that does not have ColorLoc technology. Pre printed card stock and scrapbook paper along with wrapping papers and gift wrap are not a problem with running ink.
Well I ended up at the ER this Saturday cuz I sliced my thumb open using a box cutter to cut the pen. So I won't be using this method needless to say. Always always cut away from you is what I have learned.
I just pour the PC-Petrifier in a container, string the beads on fishing line making sure to add a 1" piece of corrugated cardboard to each end of the fishing line so the large beads don't fall off, and I dip them into the PC-Petrifier and hang them to dry.
You would use the 5/8" x 1/4" strip template. You can get it at: www.paperbeadcrafts.com/templates/index.php?N=014&W=058&NR=1/4&WD=5/8 Choose the one that is for 8½" x 11" paper, for 11" long strips.
Are you also going to decorate the cap? I am wondering if 1 4 1/4" x 11" strip to wrap barrel of pen and 1 1/2" x 11" strip for cap and also decorate cap. That way you just have 2 paper beads to cover the pen and cap.
Diana Hill I have done just one large piece of paper on the pen before and the cap would not fit on the pen. I had made paper covered pens as gifts for my coworkers where I worked and they did not have the cap on them but I did put each of their names on them. They were personalized pens. I can do another tutorial for those pens as well if you want. I chose not to decorate the caps for this tutorial but of course you can decorate them the same way I did in my other video and you did for your caps you made recently. By the way, your caps were beautiful! Loved the seed beads! I might just have to make some like yours!
Diana Hill The cap is really tight. You could cut the paper to the same size as I made the duck tape for the bead roller. 3½" long by 11" to get the same thickness as the beads on the pens in the picture. Then the cap would take up the extra space at the end. I will have to make a tutorial using copy paper printed with the paper bead sheet designer so the edge of the paper can act as a wrap. To me it would be a waste to use fancy scrapbook paper with an all over print on it when you only need a little over an inch wide section to show on the outside of the pen.
hi it's beautiful and mazing work with the paper i so much like to Mach can i use the paper wrap for gift please i thanks for you all the best in your work
fancynancyjw Most of these pens you can pull off the tip and the ink within and refill from another pen. Some types of pens you could get will have actual refills you can buy.
Yes you can do that if you want to. Just start with gluing the end of the strip to the pen before rolling. You can also use a piece of double stick tape or regular tape to secure it to the pen before rolling.
Chris Rice At my local craft fairs, I am thinking of charging $10.00 since they do take time to make. I would probably charge the same in my Etsy shop plus a shipping and handling charge.

99% of the time I cut away from myself. I have never worn protective gloves when working with paper bead stuff. Except when coating with epoxy. I have been making paper been since 1996.
maybe you could explain up front what some of the things are that you are talking about? I couldn't finish watching because it made no sense to a novice like me. Overviews are helpful unless you are only making videos for those who already know what you're doing
Why would you copyright lines on paper that people could clearly draw themselves or duplicate on a computer. I enjoyed your videos until I saw that. Just give it away free. You are so generous with your tutorials.

Thank you for your tutorial. Love your work!
thank you Julie. I enjoyed that.🥰🥰
I wrapped my beads directly on the pen I was making, saved so much time!
I actually did that as well with the last batch of pens I made for Christmas gifts. You are right, it does save a lot of time!
That would be be easier
Yea I was thinking the same thing.
I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t glue the strips directly on the pen. The other way doesn’t make sense to me.

I just love your tutorial. Nothing in life is perfect that's what makes it beautiful. Imperfections make it unique. Just like people.😊
I'm gonna try this thank you but directly on the pen. I love this idea! Yours turned out lovely thanks my sister!

Thank You Emily!
You are giving urself so much trouble when you can do it right on the pen and it comes out beautiful
These are fabulous. I love them. Pretty genius too. Thank you so much for taking time to share this technique. I am going to try it.
Great video.
What an awesome idea. Thank you for sharing.
Love them.

what do you do once the pens run out of ink? Just replace it with another insert,
Awesome craft
Great tutorial, thank you. I'll be punching a few spares of those end dots in case mine decide to go AWOL 🤗.
Love your ideas...The paper you use, is that the squares of decorative paper at Hobby Lobby ??? Thanks for sharing...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Real question. Can I ask you what do you use to moisturizer for hands? They look so great.

+KINDERKRAFTS I find ModPodge is too thick for dipping and I don't like how the finish feels tacky when it is dry.
+Julie A. Bolduc
Hi again...
I don't think I want to use the wood sealer around my kids...
Can you suggest something else that is safer to use.
+KINDERKRAFTS You can just skip the wood hardener and use a 1/2 and 1/2 dilution of plain white glue like Elmers and water. They look lovely but that woodhardener seems expensive

I am so sorry about that. You could just wrap the paper directly on the pen. It would actually be safer. I hope the pain is gone. Take care.
Cute❤
hi love you channel how do you used the pc patifire do you used just has it come
I just pour the PC-Petrifier in a container, string the beads on fishing line making sure to add a 1" piece of corrugated cardboard to each end of the fishing line so the large beads don't fall off, and I dip them into the PC-Petrifier and hang them to dry.
Need to get a long test tube for the petrifier that way you don’t need to pour so much out at a time to dip
Which templates should one order to make the beads for the pens? I was on the Etsy site and there are many different size ones to buy. Thanks :)
You would use the 5/8" x 1/4" strip template. You can get it at: www.paperbeadcrafts.com/templates/index.php?N=014&W=058&NR=1/4&WD=5/8 Choose the one that is for 8½" x 11" paper, for 11" long strips.
is that how u glaze them with all your beads
Gina Santoya I do glaze them just like my other beads. I string them on fishing line and dip them.
Are you also going to decorate the cap? I am wondering if 1 4 1/4" x 11" strip to wrap barrel of pen and 1 1/2" x 11" strip for cap and also decorate cap. That way you just have 2 paper beads to cover the pen and cap.

Julie A. Bolduc Thank you. Couldn't the one sheet allow for cap to be used? Same as this video?

I hope you will consider releasing shortened versions of your videos. Love the idea, but no way I have 45 minutes to devote to a video...

😮Safety starts at home , always cut away from your body. ( art work!)
Why building the beads separate and not just glue and roll your paper directly to the pen?
hi it's beautiful and mazing work with the paper i so much like to Mach can i use the paper wrap for gift please i thanks for you all the best in your work
The paper I used was scrapbook paper sized 8½"x11". Not really big enough for gift wrap. It is cool though!
Julie A. Bolduc hi thanks for answering my questions
No problem. Anytime.
ruclips.net/user/shortsd85sO5etmfg?si=kXKDSPE
Hi..what happens when the pen runs out of ink?
fancynancyjw Most of these pens you can pull off the tip and the ink within and refill from another pen. Some types of pens you could get will have actual refills you can buy.
fancynancyjw Most are refillable
Thanks ladies, you are 2-2.
Insert a refill from another pen of the same make.
Why not just roll the strips directly onto the pen like the cap?
Yes you can do that if you want to. Just start with gluing the end of the strip to the pen before rolling. You can also use a piece of double stick tape or regular tape to secure it to the pen before rolling.

Chris Rice At my local craft fairs, I am thinking of charging $10.00 since they do take time to make. I would probably charge the same in my Etsy shop plus a shipping and handling charge.

I just don't want people selling my templates, that is all. What they do with them beyond that is fine.
This was a painful video to watch
ruclips.net/user/shortsd85sO5etmfg?si=kXKDSPE
The video was too long and the process pretty arduous, as well.
