The local hardware store has every spring size you can imagine. I replaced the pitch springs with weaker but efficient ones, and left the lateral springs alone.

Used this video for modifying the Saitek Cessna Yoke. Just took out the top spring of the pitch mechanism and it seems to be fantastic, thank you Rodger!

What about if you just removed the top spring? Would it still be as bad in pitch?

Hey Rodger Dodger or anyone who may know: just opened my yoke up and it was much dryer than the one in this video. Best kinds of lubes for the plastic parts/shaft? Thanks.

My Saitek/Logitech pro flight yoke isn’t being recognised by Win10 anymore(been about 12 moths since I last had it plugged in due to circumstances). No matter what I do, I get nothing. Even the software program designed for it doesn’t pick it up. Can I get a replacement circuit board complete to fix it or do I need to go down the Leo Bodnar route?

You ever find a fix for this?

@@Captainasquared Not entirely. I'm rewiring as much as I can of the main & side connections(trims etc), to a Leo Bodnar board or 2. However, I did discover that the drivers stored on the unit that set things up with Windows when you 1st plug in the usb, were so corrupted there was no chance of it working. That coupled with having to re solder the loose wires to the motherboard, I only got the thing to power up the LCD screen. Nothing else has worked at all. I had an opportunity to replace the whole yoke & lever package due to selling something for more than I thought I'd get. So, I'm happy with a brand new Logitech yoke. I will carry on with the other one & see if I can improve my wiring skills. Might as well learn something on the way eh! Thx for asking

after removing the springs the only thing i need to find out is how can i install small cabinet gas strut in there. would be cheap and very nice to the feel. for pitch axis it would be easy. hard part would be roll axis.

if i like the feel of the pitch with removing only the top spring, can i leave it the way it is and reassemble. or will something eventually break with just the bottom spring?

It works, but it's just more effective to use the rubber band method, as it feels much better in my opinion.

Undid all the screws but something is still keeping me from getting the bottom cover off. Afraid to force it. Did everyone else's just come off or did you have to pro it off? (Saw a good engine ruined that way.)

Hi! I've done the rubber band mod....but when I plug the Saitek Yoke I lose roll movement...it doesn't recognize any roll movement....What may I do wrong?
    Thank you

I want to try this but I am a bit scared. Is it really easy to put it back together cause I'm worried about breaking something

Well then don't do it. First, try practicing on cheaper hardware before attempting to modify your yoke. That method worked well for me.

Is it possible to make the yoke roll full 180 degrees like the honeycomb yoke?

    • @bobbyrayofthefamilysmith24
      @bobbyrayofthefamilysmith24 3 года назад +5

Yes I've done it myself, you have to open it up, unscrew the roll spring then take the whole unit and throw it into the trash and buy a yoke that has 90 degree movement

    • @wrigg5006

Phillips, shorter ones at 4 spring attach points, longer ones at 2 axis points (L & R).
