He’s so right about the speed thing though. There’s definitely ppl in lower leagues who r faster than ppl in higher leagues but won’t get as good physical stats because of their leagues.
I worked for EA doing ratings and yeah, over there the physical stats are allowed to be high for lower league players while the technical/mental stats are capped. eFootball and PES ratings have always been kinda bad
the ratings bad cause in this game you are suppose to train players

You're already in a video game though...You've been in Football Manager since FM 2019 ....
You should check out your stats there and check the game itself. Their ratings are more accurate than Pro Evo and FIFA because of the nature of their simulation.

Also fm has a lot more mental attributes which I think Sheldon excels at. That’s simply not taken into account in this game

Difference between 2nd and top division is sometimes in just a fractions,we all know that it takes much more than just being good to be a pro so....luck,being in right place at right time,good contacts and alligment of stars haha ...but yeah,congrats Matt!!! You need the right connections and drugs to make it at the very top. The top players are groomed from birth due to their bloodline.

Loved the video Mat! You should do your ratings in Football Manager! FM has a lot of mental traits which go unnoticed in games like FIFA and PES.
Also I would say your a defensive minded fullback, solid at the back but can provide options forward if needed.

As a foreigner, I must say the US joke with the anthem was hilarious😂. Good video and congrats for being on the video game, it must be cool to think about your teenage years and be able to tell yourself that you appeared on a videogame that is played world wide.
Its hard to balance video games, physical stats are too overpowered thats why its not high for lower league players.
they should use real stats and just translate those to the point scale, for example lets say the speed of players ranges from 40km/h to 20km/h just make this 99-0 and basically each km/h irl = 5 points in game, and do the same for other stats like % of shot accuracy and compare this to average and have a normal distribution type of thing

My family was actually in Charleston this weekend for my 8 y/o son’s baseball tournament and stayed right near the stadium. My son loves your channel and uses a number of the drills you’ve shown so he was bummed we couldn’t make it to your game on Friday. He was really excited though when he was able to take a picture with your banner/picture on the street lamppost outside the stadium. Cross that off his sports list.

Absolutely agreed that the physical traits are exaggerated when really what separates players at your level is mental, processing speed, and maybe finer elements of technique.
Physical traits make a player feeeeel much better in a video game though, compared to mental where half the time I'm controlling the player meaning it's whatever my mental is
Exactly, after all mental abilities like tactical understanding, vision, etc all depends on the player controlling the game.

Congrats on making it to the video game ! Definitely agree that the gap on the physical attributes score is not as big in real life vs video game when comparing top league players vs lower league
which one would be better for going pro? Playing MLS next or playing for your highschool?

You have a good point about them over rating the physical attributes. These guys are all men that have been training since boys. They're definitely on an equal playing field in terms of physical attributes regardless of what tier or region they play in.
It's like anyone in a top flight league can beat up, out run, out jump anyone from a lower tier; which just isn't true lmao
They overrate other things too

I think one of the problems with the rating is that your best stats can't really show unless you also play with the best. USL is very good, but playing with the big names in Premier League, La Liga, etc. really boost stats even if you are comparable in some areas to USL players.

Yeah I agree that they exaggerate the differences with the top leagues and teams. Whenever I try to play with any of the Championship teams in PES, it's like they've never seen a football in their entire lives

Matt, with reference to speed and compare to Alonso. Could be different style of playing at premier level to USL. Thinking if he was in USL he would have to move more quickly based on North American play . Just a thought.

I wonder how you rated against your league peers? that might say something a bit, if the league range is similar to yours- might give a better picture than being lumped in against premier and champions league. mls in theory should be not too far off.

My best parts of my game are ball control dribbling passing speed like Eden Hazard.
I own his card haha and i also maxed him at 85 rated (88-89 with a manager)(which is pretty good i think) players that start out low can be trained a lot more than better standard cards
So 85 max i think is fair when standard Alexander-arnold is 93 max

Stats don’t mean anything the fastest players always have low speed. Rudiger and Soyuncu for example

Video games tend to favor the popular players more than the rest. It always tends to have thar kind of a scripting issue. Also because probably the popular players are favorite players

33-35 kmh. Well Ronaldo is around 36-38 I think and he’s an 88 in top speed I think
