Hello father Peter. I am Greek and find it difficult to follow this kind of videos with both Greek and English speaking at the same time.
I would like to ask you to release these kinds of videos with Greek spokespeople also without the English translation, only in the original speech, that is in the Greek one.
Please if it is possible because these kinds of videos are important ones.

What if you want to convert to Orthrodoxy but haven’t started catechism and you commit a sin, how would you do confession, I have no idea what to do because I’m not Orthrodox so when I sin I just pray and say the Jesus prayer am I doing it wrong? Just a question

    • @bryansmith4987

I may be wrong as I’m a new convert as well, when you enter catechism you start living orthodox the best you can. At the end of your catechism you confess your life. That’s a experience of tears and rejoice. To answer you question the shortest come see speak to your local father. He will advise you most correctly!

In my limited understanding, we do multiple confessions; To God after we sin, and sometimes to our brother or sister, and our spiritual father, who guides us in the Mystery of Confession and repentance.
When we sin, and we recognize our sin, we turn to God in our heart and say, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, according to Thy great mercy..."
"Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us; For at a loss for any defense, this prayer do we sinners offer unto Thee as Master, have mercy on us."
In our morning and evening prayers, we ask for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of repentance, to turn away from our sinful ways.
In our mind, we must make an agreement with our heart, saying, "Heart, we must hate the evil things that we do; The next time we are tempted to do them, we MUST call upon the Lord and resist the evil one with our whole will in cooperation with the grace of God."
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us!
      Lord, have mercy!

Orthodox or Orthodox catechumen, we throw ourselves on the mercy of God trusting that He is the God “Who lovest mankind” and “desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.” God will not reject a catechumen who is eager to become a member of His Body and is repenting as best he can.

You are already repenting Handy Larochelle.
The fact you are sincerely seeking the correct way to repent shows this
When you are Chrismated and make your confession, your Priest and Sponsor will guide you through.
God Bless you and Glory to God you are on the right path

To the editor: the original Greek audio is too loud, in fact I would argue that it's pointless to have both tracks playing at the same time. It makes the English audio unnecessarily difficult to understand, even more so for those who don't speak English as their native language. Alternatively, subtitles could be written (the current subtitles are not accurate). Thank you!

    Bringing forth fruits of Repentance
    = undoing the wrongs done
(as much as is possible & GOD fix what I cannot)
repentance is wishing to never have done the wrong
as well as wishing to never do it again
IF someone turned off a road to their desired destination
They MUST return to the correct WAY to the desired destination
    or
they will arrive at somewhere they did not wish to go to
as in thieves stop stealing and instead
work so as to have ability to give to others
♡ a few thoughts on repentance
    btw
JESUS Lives In HIS followers and HE IS Well Able to Live as GOD The FATHER Demands
    ...
so if/when we struggle in obedience we Have an Advocate with The FATHER & an Helpmeet
The HOLY SPIRIT Who gives us Power

Evlogise mas Patera! Father, can you please make a video about the puritanism and his roots on the catholic theology? Why, for example, catholic priests don't get married and why their view on sexuality is that sexuality is evil in and on itself and not a good power with which God has endowed us? Efcharisto poly!

A true repentance is done once.
    If you still sin,
    You have not truly repented.

Not true. Not biblical every single human being will always sin until the day we take our last breathe if you think a wrong thought, or commit murder it's all the same to God almighty stop soeaking lies. That's exactly why we need Christ. Daily moment by moment to confess daily acknowledge the slightest inperfection only because we know we don't deserve his grace or mercy he's a loving but fierce God.

Believers are free from sin Nicole.
And about repentance, it’s done once.
How many times does Jesus have to die for your sins?
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them AGAIN unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
What does it say about those who renew repentance?
“Put him to an open shame”
      Actually Nicole, the Bible clearly says;
Those that are “born of God” cannot sin.
      And,
Those that still sin, are “of the devil”.
      Do you still sin?

    • @Orthodoxi
      @Orthodoxi Год назад +4

Depending on the sin it takes more than one repentance. Sometimes depending on our efforts the actual full purification is never accomplished. If your work allows God to start to reveal the reality of your sins you begin to comprehend what sin is and does. There is no amount of weeping or prostrations or self awareness to forgive this. So that is why Christ has done it for us already. We repent to fully realize this at least. And most. More can be done depending on Gods plan for us. But He did it all.
      Glory to God.
