I've heard and seen a lot of performances of these masterful variations over the years, and this is superb - among the best I've heard. And yes, it's brave for a competition - I only hope the jury can appreciate the music and the talent they have in front of them. There's a bright future for Elias, for sure.
This performance brought out many details that can often be overlooked by more experienced performers. I enjoyed the clarity. Sudden changes of mood, and lots of notes, it takes focus to play the work well. it WAS played VERY WELL!. Great stuff all round. Thanks
