I love seeing the AI respond to eachother in both voice lines and their actions. Combined with the new animation work, the Covenant characters are easily the best they've ever been in Infinite.
I love how the Skirmishers operate. Skirmishers she as hell aren’t very powerful, but they’re definitely good at their Hit and Run style of combat, which genuinely does make them feel fresh and not redundant to add to the sandbox.
Also, Grunt Ultra’s with energy shields are so cool. I know I’m probably digging too much into it, but that’s one of those things that feels like it distinguishes the Banished from the Covenant. The Covenant would never have spared the resources to give shields to lowly Unggoy, no matter how genuinely capable they may have been. But the Banished would. Not only because of their stance of species equality, but also because any time a human spends focused on a shielded grunt, or surprised by the fact they didn’t one shot the lil guys, is another moment lended to the Banished and taken from their prey.

Not! The skirmishers weren't supposed to be female jackals! This contradicts the lore in which they are a separate race from the satellite of Ein. Their entire lore before that was built on the fact that it is a separate race. A race that considers itself the highest among the Kig Yar and organizes raids on the Ruutians and Ibishans. The skirmishers' characters have already been tweaked to fit this lore, like Chol Von and her squad of 13 T'vaoans.Female jackals and skirmishers should also look different. Jackals have no needles on their necks, instead of them there are calloused plates due to the peculiarities of the courtship of jackals. In female skirmishers, it is not a mane that covers the entire neck, but a ridge extending from the forehead to the back. This is described in the halo encyclopedia.
