The smartest, and toughest qb to ever play. He had incredible instincts, and he played like a qb who was also a linebacker. If you hit him, he'll hit you back, and then some
One I always remember was the the 1993 game at the Ralph vs the NY Giants. Bills driving late for the win, and Thurman Thomas fumbles the ball. There’s a big pile and in comes Jim Kelly dragging a NY Giant d-linemen out of the pile. Then Jim starts clapping when the Bills recover the fumble. Then Jim beats the NY Giants with a TD pass to Pete Metzelaars. Kelly was always tough. Let me tell you, I’ll take 10 Super Bowl defeats, the ending might not be great, but getting there was.
What an amazing accomplishment--Jim Kelly played good enough to help his team get to 4 straight Super Bowls, and consider this: in '91 and '93 his Defense was Ranked next-to-last using OFFICIAL NFL Rankings. Plus Kelly played his Team into position to win that 1st S.B. game only to have his kicker miss a game-winning field goal. What an overachiever.
