"Courage's parents" made me cry so hard as a kid. I've never cried over a cartoon until I saw that episode. I remember going to hug my dog lol
stop lying
Yeah, it made me cry too
@@IAMMRONALD Why would they lie about that 😐
@@moys6817 Because they're an emotion less sack of wasted human potential.
@@IAMMRONALD 2009 called. They want their pfp back
You CANNOT replicate the feeling you'd feel when hearing the intro at 4 AM in the Dark with just the TV.
True true
I would sit there and have the same feeling of when you sit in a rollercoaster and they lock in.
@@smo-king6504 damn, shit on this mans whole career. Perfect description. Thus making it replicable
@@spacedigitalfilms3908 i loved this cartoon sm the vibe n everything
So very true
Remembrance of Courage's Past has ALWAYS made me tear up.
One of if not the best episode of Courage(in my opinion atleast)
Me too
@Nick Flores Jurassic bark?
I couldn't re-watch it for over 18 years. Finally rewatched it, bawled my eyes out.
Though it was somewhat reassuring to know that, Courage's original parents on the moon, were accompanied by other dogs, who all square up towards the evil scientist.
Reminded me that, this was why Courage despite being a cowardly dog by nature, forces himself to be brave. Because he already lost one family and can't bear to lose another.
Being brave when it's against your true nature, takes a lot of guts and sacrifice.
They sugarcoat it as Courage joking "the things I do for love". Sugarcoat a lot of things for the sake of oversensitive parents who don't want their kids watching anything that'll teach them useful sh*t.
This show has a special place in my heart. I started watching as a kid and the mysterious aura around it that wasn’t like other shows just captivated me. The past behind Courage, the ‘you’re not perfect’ and the King Ramses episodes broke me the most.
It’s nostalgic to me 😢
Yes. I was captivated by this show, and now my youngest boy is hooked on it. I'm soo proud. :)
how it was allowed to air is beyond me
The “You’re not perfect” thing literally petrified me more than any other creepy part in this cartoon for like years.
In my opinion the spirit of harvest moon was scerier
But maybe is Becouse i Watch the you are not perfect episode when I was older
As a child I always found the "not perfect creature" funny. I remember when I saw it the first time, I laughed. :D
However, the King Ramses episode, sent the chills down my spine.
That episode was one of the best for me because the message struck so close to home. “There’s no such thing as perfect.” Such a comforting and wise thing to be said in a kid’s show.
@@maningxl “return the slab” has forever haunted me.
Return the slab will always hold a place in my mind of being legitimately freaked out as a kid
I really appreciate that courage was kinda like training wheels for the morbid aspects of life, it introduced me to grotesque concepts gently and as a kid I feel like without courage, I wouldve been more highly sensitive to the awful things humans have done to each other.
Yesssss exactly kids now a days r censored from this type of cartoons n thanks to this show is why I’m not as scared of things now and I really loved the scares
Ikr
DEFINITELY. The balls this show had to not have most of the villains turn good in the end; because bad people are not easily fixed like that.
People being hateful to this show for whatever "darkness" it showcased, need to realize, it's not dark or light or bs. It's REAL. It's reality being indirectly showcased in slightly fictionalized ways.
If they don't want their kids to know reality, then they should lock them up inside homes for the rest of their lives and cocoon them.
I loved this show as a kid. Taught me a LOT of deep sh*t.
I have bad anxiety, and I wanted to say Courage is probably one my favorite shows because, at the time, I had never seen any characters who was as prone to worrying as I was, but it was never shown as something bad, either. Rather, he was shown as noble for always trying to defend the people he loved from anything he saw as a threat, big or small. Not to mention that he always succeeded at that! It was just really refreshing to see a character like that, that I could somewhat relate to.
stay strong, wish you well
@@samnieves8158 Thank you, I really appreciate it! I wish you well too!
I remember when I was like 12, I found a creepypasta about the blue creature, and it scared the shit out of me, I couldn't even leave my room for some time
YES. I didn't sleep well for like, 3 weeks after that. The video I saw was pretty popular (at least here in Brazil) at the time and I'm sure I wasn't the only child traumatized for some years lol
Now I have to read it lol
Can someone explain what the story talked about please?
@@francescogirotti8124 the one I heard was about a guy watching this episode, them he started seeing the blue fetus thing in his dreams, then he started seeing it at the end of the hallway is his apartment, and it wasn't moving, but spreading like a fungus
@@worstmakoto bro thank you so much for responding
Fun fact about the you're not perfect thing. It actually resembles Eustace's broken trumpet since he ordered one in the episode.
_"RETURN THE SLAB... OR SUFFER MY CURSE."_ *~ King Ramses*
No matter how weird the CGI looks, this is way ahead of its time.
I agree, Ramses looks like something that would be in an indie horror game or an ARG
P.S I think that the fetus thing is in the same area
That's the thing, the bad CGI of king ramses IS what makes him so creepy, had the CGI been better it wouldn't have had such an impact.
I wasn't scared of that episode but it was weird
this still haunts me
King ramses was character designs by john r dilworth's late brother Jim p. Dilworth who passed away in 2001
Courage is my introduction to my love of horror as a child
Same here!!
I always thought that the blue your not perfect creature was Muriel's and Eustace's stillborn or dead child
Hmm, that’s a decent theory
Omg same, that's always the feeling I got from it
wiki even call it a fetus
@B M it is but it could be a spirit in that form telling courage to be imperfect like he is
Now I want an iceberg of The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.
I loved that show, it was trippy
@@BookofValis ik lol
Lmaoooo bruhh that show is a classic idc what any body says about flap jack that show really was trippy as hell when you really look at the show
Yessss
I really hope iceberg charts stick around
9 months into the Iceberg genre and I think it’s here to stay for good 😊
Yeah, they never get old
They will there are so many endless charts about any topic known to men, so I have a feelingg they'll stay for a really long time
They never get old, it may be unoriginal but at least they're entertaining
Update: Its been 4 weeks, they're still here!!
Does anyone else remember Eustace actually pulling a shotgun on Courage? I'm not sure if it's just my memory messing with me but I remember watching this as a kid and seeing Eustace scaring Courage with a double barrel shotgun
Yep me too
Yeah I remember someone pulls out a gun. Not who or if it’s even shot
@@xDKuatemoKxD the deer eustace was hunting
I feel like it would’ve been funnier if he did that instead of the mask.
i think you have it confused with a giant mallet
the fact that i remember every single episode you mentioned-
The King Ramses entry should've been sky-level
Courage the cowardly dog made me cry as a child. Everything about how the grandpa treated the grandma , the greed of the grandpa kinda hit too close to home for me 🧍♀️ honestly I don’t know why I always love to watch it even tho I knew I will cry after watching it

Wait... Courage ended in 2002? I remember watching it in the early 2010's
Ya they had reruns of it on Cartoon Network for a while, don’t know if it’s still on though
@@BookofValis Its not my grandparents have cable and it doesn't show up
I remember watching courage the cowardly dog somewhere in 2015
I thought it ended in 2008

Rest in Peace Thea White. Muriel’s voice actor ❤️
I loved this show, when I was younger. A great cartoon, left in the best decade to be alive in.
@Gamerz Idol me too!
The CGI fetus is called The Bugle Monster, it's meant to be an exaggerated caricature of Eustace's broken bugle.
(A bugle is a trumpet)
Where the hell did you read that?
this guy traumatized me
1:33
Those mutilations are pretty common here in central Oregon, my dad is an deputy and he tends to a lot of the mutilations
I swear there is something wrong with Oregon
.... Well now I know why Oregon was used for Gravity Falls.
Exactly oregon is terrifying
@Spoopy Virgil
Oregon has been the setting for a few weird shows, like Grimm and Coraline. I wonder why.
@@eilir_adron eh I lived in Oregon for 20 years the only thing weird about it is fucking Portland
This reminds me of the old tale of the chupacabra
Many farms would have their animals killed like that in Mexico some believed it to be wild dogs or coyotes or other large predators
Courage is definitely one of the best cartoons ever that isnt afraid to show the scary aspects of life. I remember watching Courage at night or whenever I would have to go to school early, the scarier episodes would be one snd kt creeped me out; but I continued watching since I loved the animation and its characters. I love it very much though I remember being so afraid to fall asleep due to some characters on the show.
2:37
scooby: "musta been somethin i ate!"
shaggy: *laughing*
courage: *fucking dies*
Courage's laugh is really just a scream of pain.
And the fact that it’s perfectly cut
It fact that I woke up at 4am only to catch up to this show made me realize how much I love it. "stupid dog, you made me look bad"
@Chase Studios ???
fun fact: that "you're not perfect" monster is a creepier version of eustace's bugle
The King Ramses episode is the one that scared me as a kid the other episode didn't
I’m possibly alone here but this show holds such a special place in my heart. Such nostalgia for me and I loved it. I have never in the slightest found this show creepy or disturbing, even with that “You’re Not Perfect” scene. I’ve always found it extremely hilarious - as well as the entire show. Always had a good laugh with Courage, this show was so funny
Courage definitely disturbed me as a kid but also I love it even more because it was so different! I kind of loved the eery creepy farm. I was possibly drawn to courage as I had some childhood trauma that I didnt really understand as a kid. Great video!
7:52 that just unlocked a hidden memory of mine.
Courage was good as it introduced me to dark horror stuff and now look at me being a big dark fantasy and horror fan and having made horror and dark myself
Just found this and I love it! There were a ton of icebergs I wanted someone to make a video on but no one had. This channel has done videos on so many of them!
I’m glad i found one another one of these, this series was the scariest thing for me back then
Courage, Samurai Jack, Ed Edd & Eddy are my favorite cartoons. Cartoon network will always hold a special place in my heart
I can't wait to see courage crossover with scooby doo
only the King Ramses episode scared me as a child
The number of sleepless nights i had as a kid because of this show 😭 still one of my favorite childhood shows alongside the misadventures of flapjack
3:30 I swear I've seen the shotgun before growing up.
The perfectionist was actually a representation of courage's struggles for validation and feeling accepted
The show was interesting, i watched it every night as a kid
I always loved this show as a kid. It was sad that it had to end, like any show. Courage was an overall great show and one of the best creepy shows of its time.
The return the slab episode use to scare me the most, just the man outside just standing looking all weird… I had nightmares
That blue guy scared me to death as a kid and one night I was watching RUclips and he showed up and I couldn’t sleep alone at all for a few nights
I loved this show as a child, dident know that there was an iceberg
I was watching a video called “30 disturbing moments in kid shows (2018) |BlameitonJorge” and I was one the courage the cowardly dog part when this came out
Same. Also, I wonder why the previous version of "30 Disturbing Moments in Kids Cartoons" was deleted.
you were the one the courage the cowardly dog?
11:57 Looks like Courage flipped her off lol
Oh yeah lol
I love watching iceberg videos and this is the channel that I go to when I want to watch them
Keep up the good work!
Courage the cowardly dog was my favourite cartoon show of childhood (I watched every episode on tv)
And only thing It gave me was cozy feeling of me hidden in blanket
although the king ramses episode was the most creepiest one for me because well his art style was 3d but everything else was cartoonic I remember an episode where the villain was so depressed that he decided to make everyone in the town of nowhere depressed as well including Muriel and courage had no choice but to save her and the villain had a pet mouse with red eyes it always terrified me as a kid
This show gave me nightmares but it's amazing
Courage didn't creep me for a reason but it is so nostalgic to me for some reason
When Courage said "The things i do for love" I think it meant that when he is only loved when he is in fear or pain.
Really? I feel like he means he will do anything for love. Like how he always puts himself in danger in order to save the family he loves. Without Muriel he would have nobody to love him so he has to keep her alive. That’s why he always shakes his head and says “the things I do for love” while looking at the audience basically saying “can you believe the crazy things I put myself through for love?”
It’s an expression that just means I’m surprised at what I’ll do Out of(because of) love.
The demon in the mattress episode actually comforted me as a child because I had a very strange childhood in which demonic possession played a weirdly big role, so it was nice to have a cartoon that understood
I was easily scared as a kid yet I loved this show and thought that it was hilarious.
The Asian and vindaloo
Me too! I think it's because it balanced it's horror and comedy well. While it's remembered for the horror, it had plenty of comedy as well.
The stone slab episode was the creepiest one for me
The episode explaining Courages past is perspective-shifting . I remember not liking it as a child, as in being uncomfortable with that aspect of truth but a piece of the foundation of my humanity was solidified with the viewing of that episode. It made me start to come to terms with the lack of humanity in the world exemplified with the vet killing Courages parents 💔 and then the shining example of humanity by Muriel adopting and loving Courage.❤️
This show was amazing. Never forget Courage❤️
This show was amazing, I somehow never picked up on the “dark undertones”
The funny thing is the "your not perfect" didn't scare me and neither did the butterfly scene from spongebob. But the possums from tiny tunes scared me?
I miss this cartoon. Thanks for the vid!
I grew up on this show and love it. It did have its jumpy moments which did get me shivering lol.
I recently watched the one about the Pixie and the Pirate, I think that's what it was called when I watched it, that song with the kids "la la la, la la la" always creeped me out. Muriel and Eustace getting paper-cuts from the late book really made me scared to even read any books for like a week back in school. Ah, this show man it's timeless. Glad I got the whole show on DVD years ago, may binge watch it on a free weekend.
6:40 Wow! That little bunny character just might be one of the cutest things I've seen in a very long time. Her design just looks super adorable and cuddly.
Personally, I never understood the fear of the fetus creature from a watcher standpoint. But from someone who has had dreams very similar, I began to understand how it could traumatize children.
The perfection episode, however, did stay with me, be it subconsciously, but the end of the episode where courage made the perfect 6 out of the random abstract and different way he did make me feel safe in the way I thought and processed things growing up.
I love this iceberg stuff. Good vid!
How is King Rameses in the abyss? That entire scene is probably one of the most well-known scenes in Courage
5:26 I actually watch the 3D special on TV because I live in the Philippines where it is part of asian east.
11:44 Oh really it scared kids.
Well I find it hilarious because theirs some parts where she trolled Courage and Eustace. The part where she roll her head is just funny especially with a deep voice.
I had a nightmare that woke me up screaming when I was a kid about the cat with the white mask except for the mask was the actual face, I couldn’t go to the bathroom by myself for a week after that.
I would also see the red eyes of that one character (I don’t remember the name of the character) when I would close my eyes at night to try to go to sleep which is weird because I wasn’t asleep so I couldn’t have been dreaming it. It only lasted like three nights and would go away after I would talk to my mom about it each night. And the third and final thing was I’m pretty sure about the episode where there’s cannon balls being shot everywhere. But yeah in the dream I was pretty much playing dodgeball with a bunch of witches with my family but the dodgeballs were cannon balls
But yeah I’ve never been as scared as I was when I woke up screaming because of the white mask, the other two things weren’t really scary at all.
I did not know this show was this old
Harvest moon is literally the only thing that gives me bad chills. To this day as a 21 yo, nothing scares me like that or the red demon guy from insidious. And harvest moon was literally from a children's show😭, the jumpscare is so fuckin subtle but horrifying 💀, I literally can remember my first time seeing it.
One of my favorite shows I watched as a kid.
I remember courage being in a cartoon network party game, i played it in a psp bootleg console but it was a long time ago. I dont know if im right but i thought i would share a memory.
Yes I've been waiting for this
Wow, this is both pretty scary and pretty interesting dude!! Also, you're saying if we visit the real house in New Mexico that the one in the show is based on, then it will haunt us like what happened to that real guy in New Mexico (as well as what happened to both Courage and his caretakers)?
Great video as always :D
I think this show deserves to be revived as an adult show. I honestly don't think it'll work as a kid's show nowadays since people are more sensitive to things on the tv nowadays plus the controversy of the older episodes.
how about a 3ds iceberg (a iceberg on the DS)
id love to see it
I think courage was always high on hallucinogenics
I love the they might be giants song! I remember that when I was a kid! I think there were other songs for that marathon for cn. I think billy and Mandy had one but I don’t remember
Okay but is it weird that I loved this show as a kid 💀 as creepy and scary it might’ve been to some I actually enjoyed it lol
You're not the only one
Thanks to this show is why I love creepy weird and scary stuff I used to be scared as a kid but I loved the art style and I loved the scares and adrenaline 😌

I have a theory about courage's parents, since some episodes show the bad side of our present times/humanity maybe the veterinarian was supposed to represent the people who would send dogs to outer space for experiments?
Watched the 1st episode @ 50yrs old and loved it since. Still showing occasional episodes and still love it. Eustace and Muriel are huge but Courage lives up to his name. It still lives like some others of that era. Sheep in the big City, etc.
