I love how she called Sohra as Sohra and not Cherrapunjee!
Where did the name chwrrapunji come from?
@@SlimJim3082 British couldn't pronounce sohra so they usually call it Cherra but by time the tourist people started calling it Cherrapunjee
@@_nichi_kun_6817 thanks for the info 👍🏻
@@_nichi_kun_6817 No it was not the British who called it cherrapunji it was the bengali who called it cherrapunji because they couldn't pronounce the word Sohra.
@@Erdovanne yes British couldn't pronounce Sohra that's why they pronounce it as Cherra * and the oldest school in Meghalaya that is CP is knows as Cherra Presbyterian because the Britishers couldn't pronounce Sohra .. the Cherra pres was established by the brits ... As I said the tourist started calling Cherrapunjee later while the brits called it Cherra
"Sohra" show how knowledgeable she is with the state of meghalaya 👍🏻❤
Respect to her for calling sohra sohra and not chirapunji
Shillong city beauty only from above but in reality very dirty not the same like before if u go to khyndailad or police bazar and iewduh u will see even the river like wah umkhrah the most dirtiest river full with garbage
Please keep the quite place quite and green place green .
Excited that Meghalaya is becoming famous tourist destination in India nowadays but at the same time imagine few years for now what if it becomes like Mumbai , crowded and full of rubbish and people on every corners 😢.
Please make sure that you travel with respect and with a knowledge that now that you have found this place , you have a responsibility to keep the quite place quite and green place green . Make sure your visit never loose its magic of NE and especially Meghalaya.
Yes true... I'm afraid that ppl might ruined such a beautiful place..
I'm glad the eastern west khasi hill is not yet explored. Not even the local people know much about how beautiful those hills are just like europe but covered by forest and trees.
😂
I'm coming in a week...Can u suggest some places?
Or else it will be littered by mainstream tourist
@@shayeenfazli Yep that's what i meant.
when you're in EWKH valleys or hills. You are exactly in Highland(Scotland).
The last woman she interact with ,her english accent it's so good ❤
Thank you ❤ Deepak for this lovely treat. Shillong is Scotland of the East-grt. Shillong Chamber Choir, what a privilege!!!!! to see them and listen to them. The lush foliage was resplendent and vibrant and it showed off its flora in full bloom. Exoticness of vistas is breathtaking. You never cease to amaze me. Dear Larissa has done a rigmarole. ❤.
You should go to Krem Puri the longest sand stone cave in the world it is in Laitsohum (Mawsynram) East Khasi Hills District.
There should be episodes which can be shot in this gem of a place Meghalaya. Lot more to explore and lot more to see. Hope NatGeo will be willing to spend some more time here on a more local level which can help the state to boost its tourism.
Land of waterfalls and Caves, rain and clouds, come and explore responsibly
That's only east Khasi hills and ri war.
Here in eastern west khasi hills we have beautiful hills, beautiful forests, and other landscapes similar to Europe but not yet explored. West and south west Khasi hills also have beautiful landscapes like mawphanlur, wah rilang, nongkhnum, markham valley, etc.
she looks a lot like a combination of Illeana D Cruz and Kriti Sanon
#LarisaDsa u melt my heart when u called #sohra #nongriat #jingkiengjri & #umïam by the local accent ❤❤❤❤God bless you 🙏
so happy to see Shillong has been recognize now world wide .its our duty for each n one of us as khasi to preserve this beauty..
Be careful because these outsiders might take our ancestral land oneday
Not just preserving but improving hospitality.
Being kinder never cost but it always gives a good return.
@@legion.4700Shows your tribal mindset..when as per law people from outside your State cannot buy land how are they going to take over...You have so many benefits in this country but you are not ready to come out of your shell..May God bless and guide you...
@@Hardthruth off course I'm proud tobe a tribal I'm proud to be born in the forest and hills..but just to let you know that outsiders hav tried many times to take over our land just like the British exploits the Indian the same way the mainland indian did to us
The perspective of a drone makes Meghalaya stunning gorgeous ❤
Proud of you Larissa😊You're fabulous. Please make a video about how did you get this dream opportunity and lot's of love❤❤
Love from Shillong and thank you for the word of SOHRA
National Geographic, please conduct thorough and in-depth research on land degradation and deforestation in the region. It is crucial to document how much of our land has been affected by coal mining and limestone mining activities. Additionally, investigate how much coal is burned every day by large companies, such as cement factories like Star Cement and Dalmia.
A visit to the East Jaintia Hills will reveal the full extent of these issues. Go beyond surface-level observations and uncover the truth.
I hope this episode is just a tip of the iceberg & you will cover many more hidden gems

This video hasn’t garnered the views it deserve yet.
I think the thumbnail is not up to the mark.
Nat Geo should display the picture of Larisa and Meghalaya. The current thumbnail is missing both.

Its funny How mosy Northeast Indians (except the mizos and meitei )dont consider us as NE enough due to our physical features. I found many arunachali to be racist towards khasis sadly . But anyway we dont mind if you dont consider us as NE *enough* we have heen living in this region even way before your ancestors came to this region. We have had alot of well known people in every aspects and we're proud of ourselves. The world is same if you dont consider us Northeast Indian enough *🤣
Bro you are here too , don't worry most arunachali are actually tibetan they share same tradition.
@@peacegamer3779 well what I said is they're racist*

Name "Morning star"? Are you joking?
we even have "i love u'' name too
Typical khasi name🤫
Seriously?? We even have name like latrine, anustina,Assterwell 🗿
There's forgetmenot too😂, there's a running joke that khasi parents just take random words from the dictionary😂
Any proof??
