Having voted once for it and once against it after experiencing and having seen its anti democratic and not proportional. If you are left of the centre left you tend to get any increase in vote from the centre left but have no power in negotiations because you won't cross the centre. The same thing on the right. But if you are representing a small interest group of say 5% then you have power that far outweighs your support base because both sides may be willing to concede far more than that proportion just to be in government. And then along comes Dr. Peterson interviewing Rex Murphy. It’s a breath of fresh air and maybe even hope. Thank you!
I wouldn't hold out much hope. Canada has for decades reflected US opinion, even when it had no relevance. I remember as a kid the anti war protests on Canadian campuses during the 60s, we weren't at war. Last year it was BLM, which is the average liberal in the US poling that they think the incidence of police shootings of unarmed blacks is 100X higher than it is (under 20 vs. over 2000). Liberals in the US believe there are 40 police killings of unarmed blacks every week. Which is admittedly close to what happens by democratic voters in democratic cities like Chicago, just not by police. Meanwhile, Canada, per se, has no history of slavery; and a black population of 3.5%, vs 14% in the US.
"Actually, it's not OK." Tell it, Jordan. I keep coming back to jim Kuntsler's maxim that we're living in a time where somehow anything goes, and nothing matters. There just seems to be no accountability for any bad behavior. Inconvenient facts are simply ignored. It is a sign of great sickness.

The big take away from this discussion for me is that our countries politics have become rotten to it's core with weak, self centered leadership. The good men and women of our country are too busy working for their own families wellbeing and safety while the entitled have the resources, time and greed to become our leaders.

canadians in GTA, Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa are not interested in these types of issues...they are almost mostly obsessed with racial prejudice and discrimination, social inequality, gender and sexual orientation and identity politics of people of colour, LGBT people, and women. Throw in blanket and far reaching platitudes about climate change, more social welfare and child care and reaching reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and these canadians will blindly throw their unbridaled support behind the Liberals, or NDP, instead of also thinking about whether the Liberals have demonstrated that they have strategies to better govern debt, address run away inflation, identify where leading edge industries can be developed to better align our skills with meaningful jobs and thereby raise the GDP, standard of living and generate more taxes. Canadians should also be asking their Federal Government to demonstrate what their plans look like to do more than just collect carbon taxes and set emission levels, but how they plan to move Canada off hydro carbons without destroying thousands of livelihoods and communities. There should also be questions asked about aligning immigration plans with targeted skill sets and not dumping refugees on provinces and walking away from their settlement. Finally, we should want theLiberals to demonstrate how they plan to deal with China, support NATO and improve the emergency response and detection to future pandemics. Unfortunately, it takes more than charm, good hair and chiseled features to. run a country properly. It takes astute leadership, selecting qualified people to take on Ministry portfolios and not pander to causes because it makes you look popular. Unfortunately, many supporters of Liberal politics fail to see the balance required and continue to vote Liberal because their parents did or the Liberal government allowed them to immigrate to Canada or ethnically theLiberal candidate in their riding belongs to their ethnic group.

I have to admit that my attention has been mostly focused on what’s going on in my country and I didn’t realize the situation in Canada had degraded to this degree. Dr. Peterson, the worry in your voice as you point out the possible catastrophic consequences of mistakes being made on such a grand scale is palpable. I’m sure this is not an original thought nor a thought you haven’t already heard, though my wording may be somewhat unique: I consider you my “Spirit Dad”--like a shamanic power animal, but in “Dad” form (and from watching some of your lectures, I feel you may truly appreciate the sacredness of that title). As is the case with my own amazing father, I don’t always agree with what you say (as I understand it) but I know the Heart of your wisdom comes from its origins in a Loving desire to guide, teach and ultimately help others live more meaningful and fulfilling lives. Watching this video made me wonder if you share another similarity with my father: Is that compassionate desire to see others thrive in these crazy times playing a part in your recent health problems? Is your nation--and the World as a whole--literally worrying you sick? Unlike my dad who never mustered the courage to really ponder the whys of this amazing thing called Creation, you may actually take notice of the importance of this: you and all of those you Love will be in my prayers in these uncertain times. May God’s Love and Grace find you where you know it can always be found: in the Loving eyes of family and friends, in grateful sentiments of students and colleagues, in the beauty and wonder of Nature and the Cosmos. And may you never forget to keep an eye out for it where you least expect it (your Rule 12 and my Step 11, I think), for God has a wonderfully unpredictable and serendipitous sense of humor. I hope you find time to retreat to your own Faith and prayer whenever you can. Your teachings helped me find the healing quality of that kind of reflection for myself. I can’t imagine how much more powerful it’d be coming from the teacher himself. As much Love, Light and Peace as this Soul can project onto you, my Dearest Teacher! Please NEVER, EVER GIVE UP HOPE!
I didn’t think I could like you more, Rex! And then at 40:27 you NAILED it!! They can’t/won’t fix the problem of the poisoning of the indigenous....but we will say a prayer/hymn/land acknowledgment at every possible turn. What a perfect and apt point. You are masterful. X

My wife and I are so sick of Trudeau and the rest of the BS going on in Canada we are seriously considering moving to a different country. It’s a complete joke and we are very concerned that we are looking at another 4 years of this. The biggest issue for us is that the people in charge have zero relevant experience. Our Prime Minister is a drama teacher and our Finance Minister / Deputy Prime Minister is a journalist. Just as a couple of examples. That is not acceptable.
Everything in your comment I agree with and was known by the electorate that voted for him. Is Trudeau the problem or just a symptom of a failing electoral system. LOOK AT THE PEOPLE'S PARTY PLATFORM. IM ALMOST 60 AND WAS A CONSERVATIVE. BUT THEY BECAME COMMUNIST LIBERALS. SO IM GOING WITH PPC ...
"Actually, it's not OK."

canadians in GTA, Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa are not interested in these types of issues...they are almost mostly obsessed with racial prejudice and discrimination, social inequality, gender and sexual orientation and identity politics of people of colour, LGBT people, and women.
