Thank you for sharing the benefits of Arnica Heidi. I am am a massage therapist and have been using a good quality arnica in my oil and lotion for over 16 years. It reduces any soreness post massage as well. Keep up with your priceless videos! I personally have learned an abundance of new information from you, and I am grateful to have found you on RUclips. Our lives are better because of it.
Wonderful video about Arnica! I use it as a homeopathic remedy and topically. A year ago I fell backwards and hit my head on the corner of the wall. Blood everywhere and I was a little shocked. My husband ran and got my Arnica 30C potency and I took it every 5 minutes until the bleeding stopped and my mind felt less shocky. Herbs are fantastic but homeopathy removes or balances out the mind trauma or shock. It is energetic. My understanding is that you should not use Arnica on an open wound. So I always use Calendula for that. Blessings! Going to check out your joint and muscle rubs.
Good morning Heidi! I made an Arnica salve (just arnica and beeswax) and use for arthritis. Takes the pain out of my hands. Thank you so much for all your videos. They are so helpful.
Thank you 🙏🏻 This couldn’t have come at a better time. I just got arnica seeds in the mail from a great company called, Strictly Medicinal Seeds in Oregon.
I have only used Arnica in my pain salve from the information on your videos. I am so glad you shared this information. I do a lot of research, but for some reason, I do listen very closely to you. So no Arnica internally 😊
Arnika and Comfrey were my two go to when I hurt my knee five months ago. Now I'm 80% better. The first three months, I could barely get up from sitting, and I could not bend to the floor. Both are very good to use.
Hi, thanks for sharing, I have 2 arnica plans, I did order seeds and I only capt 2 plants alive, they stayed small, and did not bloom, hopefully they will grow next year and I will make the oils infusion for healing, I am excited, I have learned so much from you, and thank you and God's blessings
Great old time remedy. Dang, I take a blood thinner but it's low dose. 🙆 Glad your arnica did something this year. I've been subbed to the Herbal Jedi so I'll check out his video about it. Thanks Heidi 🌞🙏
I learned about arnica years ago when I fell at work and my elbow swelled up like a goose egg. It was checked at the doctor cause we didn't know if I cracked something. But I was recommended from a friend to use arnica on the massive bruising and I couldn't believe how quickly it faded away.
Thank you so much Heidi....I recently subscribed. You are a wealth of information; thank you so much for doing research on all of the herbs, etc. I really appreciate it! 😊🐱🐶
I just ordered arnica and comfrey. I have a few small comfrey plants but they aren’t big enough to use yet. I want to get some joint and muscle rub to have on hand. Many Blessings!!
I definitely need to start growing arnica! Earlier this year my daughter was getting her wisdom teeth pulled and I saw Walmart had a homeopathic arnica gel. I decided to get it in case she wanted to try it for swelling. I don't know if she really used it more than twice, so I can't say how well it worked. This summer I was pulling weeds in the driveway cracks. I must have torn a muscle in my arm because since July until now in October, it's been painful. I've recently started using it on my arm and I think it's starting to help. I need to use it more regularly or maybe make my own. Thank you, Heidi for another great video! God bless❤
I don't know if you remember but a few years ago I fell through my deck and my left leg was bruised from my hip to my knee. I contacted you and you recommended Arnica, so I got some from my local Walgreens and Man it worked Amazingly. I also use it regularly on my forearms because I have 3 pits that think they are 2# lap dogs and are always bruising my arms trying to get in the recliner with me😅😅... I absolutely love the stuff. Thank You Mrs Heidi 🤗🤗🙏🙏 Kendra
Thank you Heidi! I tried an arnica rub many years ago. At the time I wasn't impressed but would gladly try it again and possibly making my own. 🙂 Blessings always! 💜
Great info as always thanks Heidi! I have wild aster daisies (the little white ones) and from what i have read they have similar properties but will be doing more research on that
homeopath, can recommend it as a remedy in a 6 potency to replace aspirin as a blood thinner, in a 30 or 200 for head injuries, joint pain (any pain!), arthritis, insomnia, headache...so many uses. Always have it on hand for first aid emergencies! Beautiful medicine ❤
@RainCountryHomestead It's a small bag, you don't use much or use it often. It's only 1/4 oz. Just a sm pinch in an herbal tea mixture. Btw, I just sent you an email earlier for potential advice help.
@@mariatorres9789 That is even more expensive than what I have paid. My last bag was $30 for four ounces. I like to stay ahead on my infused oil and I prefer buying in bulk for the best price and four ounces is as bulk as I have been able to find. I would have bought a pound if I could find it
@@RainCountryHomesteadI bought Jovvily brand from Amazon, 8oz $16 and I think 1 lb is $25. It says Natural from a single source, but not organic, so I'm not positive it's the best quality. You would certainly know better than me 😊
@@sandrad518 That is a great price! I have not looked recently. I know what I have is labeled as organic but honestly with arnica, I do not believe it matters as there would be no reason to spray or fertilize it
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. I will try to find a plant at a nursery and grow it in my yard. I saw one of your videos on echinacea and growing one but there are a lot of colored flowers of echinacea is the purple flower the one with medicinal properties or any color has the same properties. Appreciate your videos.
I do construction so am always getting beat up and thick purple bruises are common as chapped hands and sore muscles. I recently bought some salve mixed arnica and hemp and some essential oils, it is some powerful stuff.
Thank u. thats interesting to hear that you read it was a blood thinner, and thats why it isnt recommended for women who are pregnant. I have been looking for herbs that help treat pain for pregnant women. So I wondered about this one.
Thanks! This is timely bc today and yesterday I've been looking up arnica for topical use. I'm 48 and every time I bruised my legs in the past couple years there remains a splotch of spider veins. So, I'm going to see if arnica oil helps!
There is a doctor that i watch here on YT (Dr Mondragon) that does gua sha (sp)?, with gua sha, it draws out the stagnation of blood,, or bruises and she recommends applying arnica to just the area that bruises, she has also recommended putting epsom salts in a cotton pillow case (just a corner, or small area), dampen it with hot water and apply to areas that hurt, or are inflamed. This is always easier for me because i cant always take a Epsom salt bath... anyways. Check her out. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for this video! I can really empathize with your twisted ankle problem. Where I live there are all these little round ankle killer stones that I am akways twisting my ankkes on. Takd goo d care!
I was considering trying my hand at Arnica but I read that it prefers high altitudes. Since I live on the coast of NC I'm basically at sea level. I might try some seeds anyway, just to see
Great video Heidi, thank you as usual! 🙏 I didn't know that arnica could be toxic if ingested at higher levels... I do take arnica tablets to keep from excessive bruising when I get hurt, but I've also used the gel on my face when I have cuts or anything scab I've been picking at. Good to know 🙂👍
My understanding is that you should not use Arnica on an open wound. Calendula oil is good for that. Your tablets would be fine if they are potentized. 🙂
I use arnicare cream the commercial kind. It works amazing. I am concerned if I make a salve to use it on cracked or injuried skin like you discussed. I read its toxic to get into the blood stream. And not to use arnica on injured skin for that reason.
I think you have to use your own judgment on how you feel comfortable using Arnica. A lot of people do use internally in small amounts. I'm fine using on cracked skin or abrasions as long as there is no bleeding or bleeding had stopped at least a day or so prior. But I'm not comfortable eating it or drinking it in a tea, etc.
Heidi, is Arnica good for Varicose Veins or can you recommend one to me? I was told that apple cider vinegar or regular vinegar soaks are good for them as well. I'm actually looking for an oil infusion to rub on at night before bed. Thank you so much hun🙂❤️
Rosemary Gladstar has a recipe in her book for Varicose Veins. It has Yarrow flowers and leaves, Raspberry leaf, cayenne flakes, and unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. She suggests you let it set for 3 weeks before straining and massaging on the legs up toward the heart. Rubbing it in well. She suggested you can also make a compress directly over the veins. Also used for bruising. This is in her book Medicinal Herbs: A Beginner’s Guide.
I rarely grind my herbs, I just flake them with my fingers but if I do need to powder I use a dedicated coffee grinder for small batches or my blender for larger batches
I do not think I ever did, I actually do not remember now, haha! This video was shot in August and the plants are long since done but I got a lot of seed so I am thrilled
I do not know the exactly variety as I got my live plants from a friend about 11 years ago but I know they are of the sterile variety that does not product seeds
@@HeyHeyAlabama It is perennial so it comes back every year and spreads. I have never had to plant it again, other than moving it from the back garden tot he front
Heidi, I know this question isn't regarding Arnica, but hoping you can help. I was looking forward to using my massive amounts of comfrey (dehydrating), but I got a Bad outbreak of powdery mildew. Can those leaves be washed off in a solution of something and still use it. It's almost my entire crop. Lots of rain and sun this past few weeks. Also, are or will you be selling Arnica seeds in the near future?
Mine do the same thing this time of year but I do not use them, mostly became it is the end of the year and they are starting to die so there will be less benefits in them. If I ever do sell arnica seeds, it will be no sooner than next fall and it will depend on how many successful plants I get and how many seeds I can collect from them
Oh yeah some definite exaggeration on the adverse effects at times on NIH because they will use extracts of the herbs in insane amounts during testing and research! Lol but if you have the payience to learn what you hear, NIH sites can be really helpful in learning the herbs. Purple pitcher plants and tobacco (nicotina)has some great research papers there.
