I picked up the Ezone yesterday.... Just drilled on the wall and played against a friendly game. WOW, what an amazing racket. So amazing, I've been using my Head Liquidmetal for 12 years and now this Ezone has totally won me.
After two years of constant Ezone use, I have just switched to the Yonex Percept 100 as I was having the same issues as you as regards hitting long from time to time. It takes a lot for me to change racket (hence using the Ezone for 2 years solid) but cant see myself going back. The Percept 100 gives me more control, better placement and more comfortable hitting angles. The power with the Percept is more controlled and I would say I hit long a lot less, but like you it still gives me the extra power I need on my backhand hence using the 100 inch frame and not the 97. Give it a try!!!
Amazing! Super glad you enjoyed the Ezone and good to know about the percept. I think that once I (Vince) improve consistently my technique, I will eventually change. Currently testing out the Blade 98! Will revisit the Percept for sure!
@@AdventureTennis Great stuff! I have used Ezone`s for the last 10 years, so it is still a great racket. I know the Blade is super popular, but I have always liked Yonex rackets and changing from the Ezone to the Percept 100 felt like an easy transition. I was surprised how comfortable I felt with it in such a short space of time!
@@MarkHibbitt Would love to! I (Vince) and Bob both work full time jobs but we will do our best to aim to do so. Gonna stop by and see if we can play test the Percept 100 from a local shop. Fingers crossed we can before snow gets here.
Played with Ezone100 for about 1 year. Loved it to death. But I tried the Vcore100, and higher launch with more spin has taken my tennislevel to new heights. I think I reduced my unforced error hitting the net by at least 20% after switching to the Vcore. I have tried playing with the Ezone again, but I tend to hit long with it. Guess I am used to the extra spin I get from my Vcore100.
Wow. I’ve been testing some racquets for about a month now. Lately I’ve been between the Ezone 100 and the VCore. I don’t generate tons of power cause I’m new at tennis and try to play with more placement w/ some spin. Now I feel like I’m not as sure about the ezone 100. I think also tried the ezone feel so I may try that again along w/ this one to see the diff.
i own this one too, my favorite one. easy to generate power, for accuracy not too good (more like shotgun than sniper rifle), but with my style of play i dont really care about accuracy
What would u say the feel is like more on the stiffer side or a soft feel, because im looking for a racquet where u feel a connection with the ball. Thanks
Thanks for the interesting video!! I’m an intermediate player planning to buy a new all-rounder racquet, and I’m confusing whether I pick the Ezone 100 or Blade V9 100, any help with the choice?
Hey! Thank you for the kind comment! Both are good racquets. Depends what you would want more: power or control. The blade is more control oriented and ezone more power and more forgiving. If you are a baseliner then maybe the ezone would be better. If you are more agressive and want flatter shots, perhaps the blade? Hopefully this helps!
Yes! I haven’t played much with the 98 but I found more stability with the 100 hence why I stuck with it for now. The 98 is better for serves and my forehand when I get a good contact, but the sweet spot is obviously bigger on the 100.
I want to like Yonex, but the head shape just looks weird. It’s like a paddle with strings. I don’t know. I’ve always kinda felt like it’s just weird looking.
The Ezone is a great racquet. And yes, the better look does make you play better 😄
Looks make 80% of our shots look better 😂

@@MarkHibbittwe’ve only played the percept 97 so maybe we should try out the 100. Vince might be switching to the Blade v9 though…
@@AdventureTennis No problem, will be interesting to know what you think about the Percept 100 if and when you get time??!!

Very good to know! The Ezone is definitely not a precision racquet but glad you found one that works for you! Gonna have to check out the Vcore !!

Very similar to Vince’s thoughts about. Not as good for accuracy BUT great power and stability

nice followup video! what's your preferred string for the Ezone 100?
Bumping this- would also love to know!
Personally, both Bob and I (Vince) have been loving the Toroline. I like the Pink and Darker Pink ones. Super durable and grippy.
I’m about to play test this racquet. Then I am play testing the pure drive. If anyone has any advice on the two please tell me.
Both VERY good options. Honestly comes down to personal taste and playstyle. Vince prefers the Ezone of course haha but the Drive is great as well.
What is your normal string/tensions set up? Had an a fantastic initial period with but then found it be a bit erratic or unpredictable.
Interesting… Vince strings it at 54lbs with Toroline Wasabi most of the time. Maybe try some different strings?
@@AdventureTennis Solinco confential is wonderfull with this racket, really !! 46 lbs for me
@@schyzowolfWow! Noted! We will try to get our hands on some to test them out! Thank you!
I second Confidential, but recently Razor Code white is great too for this type of racket; it really helps the control

Soo goood!
What was the grip size of your racket?
Vince and Bob both use 4 1/4

If you can get over the looks, trust me, it’s worth it. Tbh, we think it looks kinda cool 🤓
Just bought this racket and feels like a dream to play with
Think outside the box..
In this case, think outside the oval shape.
Who cares what it looks like. They hit so well and actually have good quality control
the isometric shape is actually yonex patented, and it gives bigger sweet spot for forgiveness!
