Pollution mode automatically switches your a/c to recirculating when driving under 5mph and switches back to fresh air once you get above 5mph to help with smelling exhaust and other things when stopped in traffic.
When in engineering mode, press the accelerator 3 times to reset the engine oil life to 100%. Obviously best done when oil is changed

Auto start your car it runs for 10 minutes. Hit lock and autostart right after and it extends it an additional 10. 20 minutes total.

You can also Telescope the steering in this car like a Corvette.

Pollution mode is dope it goes fresh air when above 5 mph and circulation interior air under 5 mph
In engineering mode you can reset your oil life to 99 percent by pushing on the accelerator 3 time's. If you don't do it just because you change your oil it doesn't reset itself.

When you hold down the recirculation button on the AC controls it's for if you're idling in traffic at 5mph or less to prevent exhaust from coming into your car.

I have pollution mode on my BMW but I didn’t know I would have it on my SSV BUT it’s meant to Close off all vents from out to in and recycle the air that’s in the cabin of the VE Holden

Am I tripping but say if it’s cold outside and I hit the remote start to let my car warm up it automatically turns on the heater or if it’s hot outside and I remote start it , it turns on the A/C automatically

Moe, I live in SA as well and was wondering if you recommend a shop that is familiar with G8's ? I want to install headers on my 2009 GT.
Mauro Automotive & diesel !! That’s where i bring my G8 and he’s the shop i be at in my videos. It’s on Broom st.
I’m about to install an oil pressure gauge. I have an 09’ I wish I had the gauges like an 08’.
They come in handy. For a while i thought all G8’s came with them.
Moe_Nation nah people complained about the look of them and instead of changing how they look they just got rid of them.
Hey Pontiac Maniac, you can find the gages on eBay and they’ll work in your 09’. You need to make sure to get the full harness that plugs in next to your radio antenna. You can also get them reprogrammed to have three display instead of two. (White Automotive)
Pollution mode circulates the air already in the car instead of taking air from outside where there could be pollution.
Probably come in handy now a days

i don’t know much about these cars but i was thinking about getting one it has 126,000 miles on it is this still reliable for the miles and all that? and how reliable are these cars how long do they last?
Yeah I’ve heard people with having one with way more miles then that. Just all depends on how much you pay for it and if the previous owner took car of it. I’m about to clock 140k miles on mine with the DOD. Only problems I’ve heard about is lifters collapsing. They’re reliable cars, i take long road trips in mine all the time which is why my mileage so high.
I’ve got 144k on my G8 GT. I’ve got a stage one Cam, headers, cai, Borla exhausts and it’s tuned. Super fun to drive and not bad on maintenance at all. Just take care of it and it’ll take care of you. Good luck!!
Def reliable besides simple gm problems. Motor sound besides DOD bs... only had to replace harmonic balancer and throttle body on mine
Is it expensive to maintain? Fluid flushed changing rotors & brake pads?
Nahh not really honestly. Everything you just named you can do it yourself. I actually have a video on changing the brakes and rotors, realll easy.
Yeah it isn't bad but chaging out 8 quarts of oil and 6 quarts of trans fluid all at once can be pricey.

The gas cap loves to come lose sometimes and when I start up the car the check engine light comes on and scares the hell out of me lol but as long as you dont whip sideways hard itll be fine not sure if you've had that problem before😂
Only problem I had was the door not opening sometimes.
@@Moe_Nation I have had my drivers side door not close one time as the latch got stuck lol but works fine now so i have no clue the car is a hit or miss on some things the struts also Love to go out on these but an easy but Expensive fix lol
Leechy Livey yeahhh. Got all new struts and shocks on mine. My passenger side door doesn’t open from the inside. It’s a hit or miss.

Looking to buy a G8. Are mechanical parts hard to find?
Depends on the part. Most are easy to find but you’ll pay a G8 tax.
So when people say "I got it tuned" or "just had to tune it" what does that mean? Love the video by the way, bought mine new in 09, just crossed 65K miles
I had mine tuned when i got the headers. They turned the check engine light off and adjust a couple things like air/fuel. And turned the DOD off.

@@Moe_Nation it's not bad gonna save up to either v8 swap it or turbo it but for now gonna get it tuned and then deside from their but paid 4k for it has 142k miles and its clean so I didnt get hurt

Yeah mine was super quiet stock. Gotta delete all mufflers and resonators to get it loud. Or go with solo exhaust lol
