Played nearly every day besides one summer. And up until recently, because my logins were less frequent.
Originally I never thought much about diversity but the game was new and the nations featured gave it that excuse. But I was not aware of the future nations until I started becoming involved online, which was a year later.
Long story short, I was having fun at first then once I found out my culture would be featured I was super hyped. After seeing how hoyoverse handled the other cultures.
Now... I uninstalled.

YES. As a Mexican genshin player, I assure you this is the only player movement I supported.
The general Hispanic Genshin community couldn't be happier with Natlan and the character designs. That boycott is just gringos and maybe a few latinamerican "activists" that don't even play the game trying to speak lies and spark controversy on behalf of a happy community. I mean, Argentina is whiter than the Natlan cast ffs.
People who live in latinamerica don't care about the skin color of our characters. King of Fighters gave us two white Mexican characters for basically saving the company from bankruptcy, and those two (Ramón and Ángel) are favorites, beloved by the players. We also understand that it's very hard to get things like prehispanic clothing and architecture 100% accurate, and genshin don't have a team of specialist archaeologists and anthropologists to help them.
As long as they treat us with respect, and give us cool characters to represent our region, such as Maviuka, Cinich, Citlali, etc. we couldn't care less about their skin color. The Neuvi nerf was the truly important issue. Great vid, keep up the good work brother.

you do not speak for the Mexican playerbase did you take a survey? a poll? a thread? You do realize there are Afrolatinos right? or that Xbalanque the MAYAN god (Not Argentinian) has medium to dark skin? or that some of natlan is based off West Africa? this is not about getting this 100% accurate its 0% accurate they couldnt even make it 15% accurate. If you are going to take from other peoples cultures at least look into it and discuss it with people of that culture or do some actual research. And please stop saying "We couldnt care less about their skin color" because instead of saying KoF gave us two mexican characters of course "White Mexican" was the indicator. What most people are mad about, including me, a person white as a ghost btw, is that, what hoyoverse is doing with natlan, is basically stealing the culture of the people that it's supposed to "represent". If I were latin american, Nigerian, Mexican etc (i don't really know exactly what Nathan is based around) I would genuinely feel like my culture is being stolen, profited off and mocked...

Im latino and i can say, its truly not that deep sure it would be sickk to have some darker characters but🤷♂️, its their own seperate game universe and the fact that they are incorporating any culture is what excites me as i dont see many games representing latin or african cultures. Plus the same reason we are getting the 10 pulls is why we aren't getting darker character's hoyo are scared of CN community and they don't want them to riot because they don't like character's with darker skin tones (their culture simply has a bias against it and that is fine, we still get our own cultures shown through other ways. Our culture is our culture skin tones are just minor parts of our overall history)

The skin color issue will never be addressed and they have have legitimate reason for not addressing it. Fiction is fiction and does not have to incorporate all elements of reality. Fiction is also made to escape reality in the first place.

Character being named after a god ≠ being based on them. Name can be given by writers just because it sounds cool, or it represents a certain aspect of the character, like someone fast being called "Zeus", or something. Hell, you can name your kid after a god, too. Saying that Olorun from Genshin is a whitewashed deity, before we even got Natlan and a single bit of info about him, is crazy.
My thing is, i would love to see more diversity in skin tone but let’s be real. It’s a game made by a Chinese company. They are going to pander to Chinese beauty standards. Plus things in the government could be stopping things too.

They don't care about global players because global players lack in what is now referred to as "standing on business" they simply have an outrage lasting up to...like a week? Then after that they move on when the product release or simply lose interest. There's also the problem with the people that be like "I'm from ___ and over here there's a lot of people that looks like (this color)." Which is a division amongst themselves already. There's no sense of unity which is why global outrages will never matter compared to the CN community those guys are in synch like a hive that's why Hoyo is scared of them.
TBH doing this change 8months after his release and even having a rerun was really bad, they should have done the change right after his release instead if it was a bug.

@@komi-samabeliever7319 Since gatcha characters are a product, a nerf counts as taking away part of a product that consumers have paid for, for example if a pizza delivery guy gave you a pizza you ordered and a few minutes later they come and take away a slice which you paid for, for no reason, this is consumer fraud.
A buff is essentially a feature added that benefits the consumer, say for example you buy a pizza, you eat said pizza and a pizza delivery guy comes and gives you an extra slice for free. You are getting more than you paid for so a buff cannot be seen as a problem.
You did not ask for the extra product but you received it and have no reason to complain, wether you want to consume it or not.

the neuvi nerf boycott is tied to the reason as to why gatcha games mostly cannot nerf a character regardless if its intended or not especially since they didnt remove this mechanic for 7 months, (they could get in trouble by law for this)

Straight to complaining before looking into it at all. We received 600 primos for server maintenance and 100 primos as standard bug fixes for a character. The 10 pull will come later when they roll back the update to Neuvillette.

But Hoyo had to either go through with the CN player base suing them for customer fraud or just give everyone some pulls, apologise and revert the update. I see that as fair as the vast majority aren't even affected by the change anyway.
I don't see an issue with wanting more compensation as they literally broke laws of basically every country ever, but as long as they apologise and give us more that 2/3 of a pull, I personally don't really care.

I actually believe the timing is quite interesting. Why nerf Neuvillette now?
1) If it succeeds, it comes at the right time for their new Hydro DPS.
BUT I believe it was all on purpose and they knew there will be a backlash because of it. The very fact it took them a few hours to react tells me they were already prepared with their response before posting the nerf.
So why would they do it?
2) Because of WuWa. They wanted to show they can be just as generous as WuWa, but they needed an excuse where "they fuck up" and can correct it fast.
3) I believe they find the boycott about racism quite annoying and they can't do anything about it. So what's the best response? Find a new scandal for people to talk about, but this one is easily controlled. And now everyone forget about the previous scandal

Forcing skin tone changes in videogames isn't Inclusive, just use mods. Forcing everyone else who plays the game to have darker skin tones because a niche community has a fetish is quite selfish.

It probably was a bug. Sigewinne has a similar attack with her burst but can't achieve similar spins. The Devs probably just accepted it until now because shark girl in 5.0 is also a hydro catalyst DPS so they needed to nerf Neuvi

For example, I believe Yoimiya had a bug that was fixed, but the fix ruined the rest of her kit so they had to reverse it. The difference being that Hoyo were actually trying to fix her kit for the players and it wasn't 7 months later.
I hope for the sake of game balance they let Sigewinne spin to win and allow non game braking bugs with characters that buff them but would ruin them if removed.

The skin colour 'boycott' has nothing to do with this. It will never result in anything. The 10 pulls are because of the Neuvi changes not the 'issues' with skin colour. They have to give out so much because the CN community was working on and about to sue Hoyo for consumer fraud because they take Gatcha games really seriously. If Hoyo didn't give good compensation then the CN community would still go through with it.
I really hope this stops the 'boycott' because it's stupid and really annoying to be in the same player base as these idiots.
They will be nerfing character every big patch from now so people pull for the new characters
