Same here. Even though T Vernon is a local boy (awesome run especially as a privateer), BK is synonymous with this race. After the slam he took in practice as well. Welled up watching it live when he went over the bars

FWIW, Bernard, the thing I'll take away from this race was the amazing generosity you showed throughout, encouraging and giving advice to other riders, always the most enthusiastic one in congratulating them on jobs well done. Jono Jones was right when he told you you're a living legend.

Dude all 3 of those podium spots were partly down to the encouragement and support you gave out all week. Talking the guys through each feature and line choice and looking out for each other means more than the final results. YOU ALL won hardline by managing to even get through it alive. You made it out safe (despite your Hulk smash in practice) and you should be immensely proud of what you've all achieved this week.
    👊😎🤘

I know you won't read this...You are a legend.! Look at your relationship with Gee, Dan, Rachel. Look at the people you surround yourself with. You are the Pinnacol of the sport, humanity, comradery, and the human experience. I can't wait to see what the next 5 to 10 years brings.!!! All I can say is WOW...Thank you sir.!!!

BK, this year you’ve inspired me to raise my game at 66yrs old. Now, thanks to you, I’m riding most of Revs and doing a decent job. This achievement is thanks to you, to the inspiration you are to us all. Your Pivot Team has performed at the highest levels in all disciplines this year, you have a World Champ now, a Hardline Hero (you) who all look up to, even GeeMan, and your success as an individual is recognised by your best results in your career. Not just a winner, but The Winner. Nobody has come near to matching your amazing stamp on the sport this year. Thank you!

Oh my ........... good on you BK for sharing the whole thing with us ...... warts and all ...... Some races are remembered for outright brilliance , not taking anything away from Jacksons ride this will always be remembered for the way you lead the charge testing those jumps, smashing quali with a broken hand and then crashing out as favourite in the final.
The story of the 2022 Redbull Hardline has been defined by you, the fans favourite . Looking forward to the next 9 months of LSD vlogs and your journey back to the new format World Cup series. One last word ........ "thank you"

For me, BK stands for British Knight! How you helped the others during training with tips and confidence to overcome the most difficult features, how you sacrificed yourself on the 90 feet double and immediately returned to enthusiastic commitment after your heavy crash. That is true greatness. The fastest time by far on the seeding run, despite your battered body, that's the indicator of your superior skill level. After the race I would have liked to take you in my arms and comfort you. But luckily Lada is by your side. Thank you Bernard for this great downhill season. Get back on your wheels quickly.

Hey, after these 3 days, definitely you are the man. Nothing to be disappointed and you know. Here you paved the road for all the racers, trying first the monster jump, realising they had to adjust it. Every day you had a word for each rider, encouraging them and giving tnem the best advices. I appreciated especially so much what you've done with Gee, giving him so much confidence after what he's been through. And after all with almost no practice you were even first to qualify. Felt so bad. No one can say you didn't give ot your best. Gee wiping the mud off the lens spoke volumes about the whole thing.
As always I respect your hard work and honesty of showing everything. The good and bad. Respect BK. It's been a stellar season. Look forward to the next one (and off season when you are up for it). Kia kaha!

Thanks for putting this out for us sports fans. It wouldn’t have been easy to have to relive it.
Soak it up and let it feed the hunger for next year! 🤘🏼

This is your Sam Hill Val Di Sole 2008. A man we knew could win and a caught out by a little mistake and I was gutted for ya. But Sam Hill won the overall in 2009 and he became one of the Goats. You’ve been on form all fucking year and next year is going to be insane for you brother, you got this

For me, dear Bernard, you belong to the 5 best in the world which also proves the result of the classifications. It is quite normal that after a big fall that you are not in good shape to tackle the final, especially if a hand injury is troublesome. That said, I know you will come together and come back stronger than ever. Talent doesn't disappear with a fall, it's confidence that you lose. It is this confidence that must be rebuilt by relying on your talent. I'm sure you will do it and succeed. It may not matter, but I'm with you.

That is heartbreaking. I would have done exactly the same thing after that. Find a patch of grass with no people and collapse. You had put so much effort into this event on all fronts. You're support for other riders was incredible. You have the speed man. It's there. And you have the heart. Go into next year with that. Jackson might have won but you were the man this week. A true leader.

You should be a film-maker when you retire from MTB! That scene after the finish when you rode off to a quiet corner as Elliot was starting his interview with Jackson in the background was poetic!
