🔺 Our Mission 🔺
Founded in 1997 in Cedar City Utah, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and education.
Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah (SWF) cares for more than 100 sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife annually. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal.
Informing, Educating and Inspiring
The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy.
Martin Tyner
Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends.
At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors.
“One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.”
Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.
“Grandpa believed in a very simple philosophy; that a person should get up every morning and do good. Doing good means that you do well for others and doing well means that you do good for yourself. There is nothing wrong with doing well, but Grandpa always believed in doing good.”
Martin's book, Healer of Angels, reflects back on his life: from a young boy terrified of birds to becoming the first man in North America licensed to train a wild golden eagle in the ancient art of falconry.
Through a heartwarming collection of true stories he describes his challenging transformation from a shy dyslexic teenager, to the founder and CEO of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation.
I love watching the releases and imagine the elation the birds feel as they fly off free and on their own. So wonderful!
Makes me cry everytime! That's how owls are supposed to be: flying free!💟🦉💟

Yeah, I only wait for that particular moment when it get released from human hand 🙂
It's amazing how much different they look in just a week. It incredible! They grow up so quickly. Although at the time you're taking care of him it probably feels like they're taking forever 😁

Boy that beak snap is loud!! I never realized! They are beautiful birds. Keep up the great work!
6 weeks ? He’s massive and quite agressive
Beautiful animal !!!!!!
I adore this chanel
Catchy plushy!
Is there way tell females to the males on those owls
How do you tell from a juvenile that age if it’s a male or female?
They really are stunning birds! So glad this little guy is back in the wild, catching mice & doing his thing :)

"Human! What is *wrong* with you?! I am snapping my beak at you, you are supposed to be *terrified* ...how dare you handle me so freely!" The outrage on the baby owl's face is priceless!
😂😂😂
" I am the night! I am danger! I am death, unhand me you fiend!!!"
Human, "Awe its so fluffy" 😭 😍 ☺
😅😅😅
Such an impressive threat display by a stunning bird! Thank you for sharing another successful rescue release 🙏
LMAO. Baby Owl: * Furious beak claps *
Brings tears of joy to see the owl released.
WOW, such beautiful birds !! I did not know, that the Owl feathers are so soft, because of the silent flight !! so nice !!! 🦉🍀

I really love Owls, beautiful creatures. Glad to see it taken care of and released.
Hello to you both. Beautiful owls 🦉 I remember at school when I was a child we were taken into the woods to find owl pellets and opened them up to see what they had eaten. I was so fascinated and excited to learn all about owls. Blessings to you and family.

Beautiful creatures, one happy back in the wild. Thanks for all you do. 🇳🇱🌬️❤️
Thank you so much for all you do for these beautiful birds …..Best wishes to you both from Cheshire England.
Possibly nature's most beautiful eyes, great release! It looks like a little bird thought the owl was actively hunting and tried to chase him 😂
Good to see you Martin and Susan, long time. The owls are beautiful.
We're still here working. Thanks to our critter webgeek for taking the time to edit and post these videos. We really appreciate her.

Every year is The Year of The Owl. Bow Down to the Owl!
Fly young great horned owl, may there always be favorable winds under your wings.
Thank you guys for another great release, your videos keep me up, this year hasn't been very kind to me. Hopefully you all are doing okay. 👍
Thank you. We are doing OK, sorry this year hasn't been kind to you. Hope things get better.
Blessings to you BMop.. Hugs and prayers being sent your way✨
Martin and Susan Tyner are therapeutic for us all! 🥰🙏🤗
@@susantyner4525 : Well, on may 4th my green finch girlie died, probably a heart attack in the night. I found her lying down in her cage in the morning. She aged five, which is a common age for finches. I had hoped she would at least make it to eight due to having a sheltered life but it wasn't given. So, if I could cut this year out of existence, I wouldn't hesitate.
@@bloeckmoep I am so sorry, such sad news. Sending hugs😢
I love how kind you are with all of the birds. I purchased my husband a long sleeve t-shirt with the logo that went down the arm a few years ago and he has nearly worn it out! Haha…going to buy another one today, hopefully you still sell that particular one,…if not then I’m sure to find one we like.
Thank you for all you do to rehabilitate all of the beautiful birds! These Owls are in particular, gorgeous creatures!!
🦉 🦅 🦉
Always a Great video, watching them back in the Wild , God bless 🙌 🙏
Thank you
I love owls and I’ve learned so much from watching your video 😊 thank you so much for all you both do 😊
Beautiful baby!
I'll never forget Martin introducing a falcon and then a golden eagle to group of us near Zion National Park. The power of their gaze is just amazing, and just dominates the room.
Wow what a handsome bird! He was watching you both quite closely. Eager to hear more on the status of the new sanctuary! ❤❤
This Owl is beautiful.. Has magnificent plumage fluffy and two big magnetic eyes. The Owl for me it is the most beautiful Raptor, without removing anything to all the other bird of prey!! It's just my preference!! 💕🦉💕
This is great duc
That's a beautiful owl you have now.
I love how he’s looking around and up at Martin with eyes wide and his beak open. He looks so amazed lol. What an adorable, amazing little fuzzball. ❤
Nice job Tyner family.. Love your work 🤗♥️🦉
Thank you
I had an exotic shorthair cat with eyes just like this owl. So heartwarming to see him. Thanks for the video.
Wonderful, always enjoy your videos Sir :)
Snap, snap, snap! Aww! So sweet.
Poor owl… having a crying kid there was not good for the owls stress level .. things needed to be a lot calmer … shame on the adults for allowing that
I don't know why seeing a young owl being kept in a baby's crib made me chuckling.
But thank you for taking good care of the young owl. Even as a fledgeling, they look fierce and strong
Raised a Raven this summer. Chose to stay around uncaged. Learning to say hello. Barks exactly like the dogs. Rides on one dogs back.Flys along as we walk three dogs and cat twice daily. His family comes daily, but he doesn't want anything to do with them?
It always brings a smile to my face when you all do another successful release!
I love watching this Channel.
I've never heard that noise they make, how interesting. Very cool to see how you let them heal and get stronger. 🥰🦉🦅
I worship that noise
He is sooooo Beautiful!!!
Not sure if I would be releasing them so close to the road. That's just me, but I feels like an accident just waiting to happen.
THANK YOU FOR THIS MARVELOUS DEDICATION TO OUR FRIENDS
Hello love the videos such great work and animals you get to help.
Beautiful Sir. Thanks so much again for saving this beautiful young GHO life ! Despite I don't like seeing them catching osprey/eagle/etc chicks I understand it's nature law
💟🦉💟The ending is the best part: watching them release the owl into freedom. It made me cry! That's how the owl is supposed to be! However, I am very grateful for people who rescue these beautiful creatures, nurse them until they're well enough, big enough, to be safely returned to the wild.
I have loved and studied owls since I was a very young child (other kids were reading juvenile fiction, and I was reading non-fiction owl books!), and finally got to volunteer at the Carolina Raptor Center for many years. I hope to do so again, and this video inspires me! At the risk of sounding like a know-it-all, and with genuine respect, the third eyelid is the nicTitating membrane; perhaps I didn't catch the pronunciation of that first "t," but it sounded like "nicitating." Just wanted to add my two cents! Wonderful work you're doing!
Thank you for the work you do.

****THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO - SIR****
Hi Martin and a belated very Happy Birthday! Many years ago worked with a wildlife rehab. Once gathering mama duck and babies, mama attacked my head LOL so i can just imagine those talons! Question, in all the years have you ever had a bird you released come back to your house, perhaps following your car? And are all birds not fit to be released back into the wild, are they euthanized or have rehabbers adopted (can they?) i.e. bird lost a leg, has anyone fitted one with a prosthesis? I have a big soft spot for owls, being so quiet and stealthy and those beautiful eyes. By the way how much does 1000 rats cost?
You do amazing work and I dread the day you can't do it anymore because right now there is NO ONE who can do it and care like you!!
It's so nice to see my favorites! Martin and Susan and the Remingtons😀😍! I'm sure you are busy and looking forward toward completion of the new facility.
Such a beautiful bird!!! Geez what I would do to work with these beautiful birds!!
So fascinated with his threat display I had to re-watch that segment a few times.
274th LIKE, 926th interested viewing - cool. "Catch & Release" bird program, as well as a "Mice Relocation Project".
Sounds like a win-win situation... except for the mice, of course.
I adore great horned owls I love the clicking sound and how they fluff up to look big and mean
That was a highly professional bird grab move!
What is the bedding you use in the shipping container enclosure?
I have a great horned owl that kills a lot of my American gamefowl every year she always leaves behind the head and wings gamefowl are tough she has a fight on her hands but usaully wins
He's shivering while being big and bad, poor baby
Can never thank you enough!
These baby owls are so beautiful and adorable!! I'm so glad you are helping them.
love 💕💕💕 because and very cute I want have this bird😘😘😘
I do find it kind of funny that the threat display that owls do is supposed to be scary but to us humans it just makes them look cute
Owls are such amazing birds, how beautiful
.... this is much easier to watch than the politicians and the rest of the news.
👍👍👍 interesting video, thanks for sharing this video.
Y’all do such amazing work rescuing these beatific creatures. Do you see a correlation between weather conditions out there and what comes into the rescue any given year? Is it maybe related to mice populations?
Awe this man truly is kindred with owls like many are with cats.
You do it great job for amazing wild animals 👍❤
Thank You
Click click, am ferocious owl, be very afraid
😍😍
awe owls are so cute i love that these two were able to be released as they are really good for keeping rodent populations in check.
They look like they r wearing false lashes, hahahaha
Grandpa and his little angry fluffballs
So soft but so sharp! They are sky cats.
OMG this is the cutest bird I've ever seen
Owl b speaking in morse code
"Fear me, human!" Clack clack clack clack!
Wonderful!!😃🦉🪶
Owls are so beautiful ❤️
I love the threat display!
Hope you and your critters had a happy Halloween
They are so precious!! ❤
thank you for caring
Love it when they go free.
It never fails when releasing the bigger birds there's smaller ones waiting to swoop in and give them grief.
Such gorgeous burds!!!! That threatened stance is amazing...he look 3X his size! Adore owls.
I adore this 😍😍😍😍
