there's a HUGE difference between simply singing and PERFORMING!!!
I hadn't heard anyone explain and then demonstrate the difference so well before.
So much good explanation. Thank you Tara.
We already know you are the queen of vulnerability, Tara...but Jeremie, wow! Thank you so much for baring your soul to show us how to turn a beautiful song into a memorable performance. ❤️
You really are that. You're always so talented and fabulous.
Tears. Wet sloppy tears running down my cheek. The first version was beautiful. And I know you explained it to us in depth but I still can't explain why I cried. It just happened. I felt it. Thank you Jeremy.
Brave & beautiful... that soul connection is what's at the heart of it all. ♡
So much bravery. Thank you Jeremy for being brave in this video.
💓💓💓💓
Love this and I love to touch others like this- sometimes I worry so much about technical stuff- JEREMY you are loved! ❤️
Thank you Jeremy for being vulnerable with us. God bless you.
I love that song "Motherless Child"! Great choice as an example! 💯💖
it makes me understand how important it is to be connected to the song that i sing
thank you
This Hymn really hits home for me as well. I really appreciate how Vunerable you chose to show coach Jeremy. Also I love each tip and will continue to use them. Thank you again and I love you all so much
Love this! So great that you could show the contrast between the two renditions it makes all the difference in the world I felt you and I'm sorry you lost your mom so young.
Thank you Jeremy! Loved how you described singing with emotion so well! I’m learning over the last few months, that singing with soul takes your performance the next level. Everyone wants to relate to the artist and feel that connection. This was a great tutorial!
Was not expecting to cry watching one of these tutorial videos! Thank you Jeremie for sharing that moment with everyone who has watched this video. Absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful! 😢💔
The intro was already amazing
God bless you, Jeremie! That was SUCH a beautiful, soulful, perfect rendition of that song. That you for sharing your heart, your voice and your talents with us! ❤️❤️ Sending love to you.
It's was just perfect, spiritual and row.
Thanks Jeremy for sharing your Emotions.
Thank you so very much for your videos and thank you coach Jeremy for sharing your story and being brave and allowing your self to be vulnerable and heartfelt. Truly I connected with your song!! Thank you again
~Blessings
You sounded amazing at first and then you sang it with soul and vulnerability I felt that in my heart. Thank you for showing me what soul truly is. Hopefully I can find a song that connects with me in some way. You guys are the best and you said faith not fear and I’m like whattttt. Yessss. ❤️❤️
The difference between the two renditions is palpable!! Thank you so much Jeremie and Tara!!
Thank you so much Jeremy! Your voice and soul are beautiful! Loads of Love to you 💜
I actually cried... even after being warned! :)
So true. Thank you so much Jeremy. Beautiful soul singing. A great 3 steps to remember
His soul-singing gave me goosebumps, so beautiful❤️
Y'all gave facts in this one.
That was so beautiful, got goosebumps!
Now i understand why I like my voice a lot more when I'm singing to let my emotions out
Excellent breakdown of what Soul Singing is. It is great that Motherless Child is the example. As a black man I had never thought of why the singing in black churches is so moving and powerful. It is because the tradition developed from a people who had been through and were still suffering greatly. Hence your singing tradition develops as a way to show that emotion in your singing. Again, Motherless Child is the epitome of explaining that tradition and history. Excellent job Tara and Jeremie
such a soul full voice.....
The second time you sang, Jeremy, I almost immediately just lost it 😢… Wonderfully sung & thank you so much for being so vulnerable & real 🙏🏼❣️ Love your videos❣️ Tara, you’re fantastic ❤
This lesson was special in a number of ways. One is I understand it. The song "El Paso" by Marty Robbins has in its lyrics "everything is gone in life- nothing is left". I lived in Texas and that is what happened to me. Another song is "The Prayer"- now has more meaning because my mother passed away on January 2nd, and I pray that she found her way-to a place where she is saved. And the song your coach sang- now I feel like a motherless child- so it all hit home. Thank you-
Thank YOU!!!!! U CHANGED MY LIFE!!!
This helped me so much thank you !!!
It was beautiful Jeremy, both times. I actually did feel you both times.
Thank you for your story. I feel like a motherless child too. My mother has suffered from bipolar depression which got me taken away from her and she was never suited to care for me f. having that experience without her feel like I’m a motherless child. This song touched me and I will do my best to learn from this video to sing from my soul . Thank both of you sweet souls
Ammmazinng woooww thank you for bein vulnerable
This really helps, thanks.
That's why I only listen to songs that I can relate to or evoke a strong emotion, so I can sing it with soul easily.
Y’all slay! 🔥🔥
Great video! I actually always sing with soul but watching this video I think I need to do an excercise to improve even more by choosing songs that are out of my comfort zone or that I would not thinking singing by asking friends etc. So that I can enter in stories like an actor but with my voice!
Thank you Tara and Jeremy actually that's very hard to sing a song without soul when you're used to sing it with soul
man this is so insightful and awesome ♥️
Love you both ❤️
Thank you!!! I felt and heard the difference!!!
That was awesome. 💜 Second version of motherless child I had goosebumps at once!! Such a great demonstration 🤩🤗
I feel so lucky that it only took one video to explain this. Thank you!
JEREMIE!!!!! such amazing emotion!
Tara is the best xx
We love you Jeremy 💋💛💚💙💜
I felt it, dude. I had the same reaction she had when you finished. Thanks for the lesson and inspiration.
So amazing
So proud of jeremie!
Bless you Jeremy

@@BH-iq3ic thank you 😊 and of course I got a lot of videos to post. Stay tune 💯🙏🏽
That was an amazing intro 👍
This video came at the perfect time as I'm looking to cover Bieber's Tiny Desk version of Peaches 😇
This should be fun!
You're Everywhere😂
Interesting topic.. Thank you..
Tara and guest, this video was 9:52. I believe your conversation was very helpful to artists who are struggling with their ability to reach "way down" for that soulful sound.
Tara, I know you are but I don't know about your guest (I'm so sorry if you mentioned his name but it went by me. I apologize)if he knows who Angelina Jordan is. As you know, Tara, she defies logic and can reach down into her soul and not only feel the emotion of situations she has never experienced in her life but has the uncanny ability to bring forth that soulfulness straight to the listener and literally draw tears from most of them. And, she does so in such an extraordinary way. She sings effortlessly (or so it appears). Her confidence in singing the song makes the listener believe she truly feels the emotion of the song and even though they question, "How can she do that?", they are in absolute awe.
Tara, I know you are backed up with an enormous amount of work but please try to squeeze in Angelina singing Adele's cover of, "All I Ask". It's a great example of soulful singing to the umpth degree. Adele sings the song beautifully, of course. Then, listen to Angelina's version. I don't know, perhaps it's not fair to use her as an example because she seems to be beyond anything that any of us have ever heard before. (She's now 15.)
No one talks about analyzing songs. What they actually do. What's real ect. Cuz unfortunately along of these songs are sooooo edited people try singing like them and it's impossible. They don't realize franny the nanny isn't REALLYY hitting that Mariah Carrey note.
Tara Jeremie did a good job. I lost my mother to cancer last year.
I felt that.. 😩
Great video. Thank you Tara and Jeremy. Can you do another video with Cat & Nikki demonstrating singing with soul. More soul singing videos please.
i sobbed
Hey I Love this I love Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding
For me it was Quincy Jones, breakout of James Ingram on Quincy Jones, The Dude album specifically the Just Once song. I remember the agnst in that song over failed relationships made worse by a glass of bourbon on my part.
Thanks Tara and coach Jeremy(hope the spelling is correct🤞) learned a lot today❤️
Hello Taraaa... from Burundi 🇧🇮
I know when I was in a church singles ward talent show I tapped into those three steps thinking about someone special and started singing Making love out of nothing at all from Air Supply and when I was done a standing ovation a bowed and was going to obey the rules and exit the stage but the Bishop was at the stairs told me to do one more so I did another Air Supply song You're every woman in the world and again tapping into these three steps and again a standing ovation and one of the younger women asked if I wrote those songs I said no and told her about the group
yo, it's great that you've provided compare and contrast, with "Motherless child": I would super appreciate there not being an ad break in between tho ;)
Oof had me cryin like a baby
❤️
😍😍❤️
Omg Jeremy made me cry 😂😂😂 I came here because I found a singer in YT covering songs, technically he is good but I could not connect with the songs he is singing. Thank you for this tutorial!
Fiiirst. And I can tell it’s gonna be good
What in the mayonnaise!!! Somebody send this footage to KevOnStage!!!!ASAP!
Lol!
0:01 Christina aguilera's Is that you
Can u make a video on how to stop singing nasal?
I'm not a singer but I'm here. Whaaaat?! LMAO.
The best soul singer for me is Xavier Naidoo. He is a German artist with South African roots.
His voice is very unique. He was born with that gift of soulfully singing. It's just fabulous.
Thank you so much. There are some songs I'm good about adding emotion, and there some songs, I feel like I'm not adding as much than I should. I need help. Would love to be Jeremies student. I will put these tips to practice. By the way, I'm from Douglasville GA , just want you to know. God bless you.
Also, will you please react to Tell Your Heart To Beat Again by Danny Gokey. He is a Christian Artist, and sings with so much soul. It's a live version. It's his original song. God bless you.
Hello can someone PLEASE tell me why every time I sing when someone sing on there piano I can’t sing something stops me but when I’m on piano I can sing Loud
Shoshana Bean - Make It Rain live at the ACE hotel, amirite? Anyone? :)
😊 She actually has reacted to that incredible performance (If you check Tara's page, the video was from 1/20/20, but you could also just search it on RUclips). Ha, just happened to be fresh in my mind bc I was late to the game and JUST saw it... soooo good! 🙌🏼
@@Kayla_w_l Yeah I saw it! A great reaction, I just wish she did more of Shoshana Bean. Like her 'Finishing the Hat' for instance. That one's phenomenal too :)
The run on n,a,a,a,me is not easy 4 me any ideas please help me, I cant afford lessons
My favorite coach posted again and I clicked faster than James Charles could say:
HEY SISTERS
Hi, how are ya?
Amazing job as always 💕
Hoping you can check out, and may be do a reaction video on Chuther. She is a singer/youtuber who does vocal impressions of celebrities like Idina Menzel, Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish in a somewhat quirky way. Would love to hear your comments about her techniques.
+tarasimonstudio *Thanks for the example with:*

Thats excellent love!!
@@Tarasimonstudios well thank you ❤️ but guess I was looking for more sort of a musical answer ...
Hello, cant u do reacts to Molly Sandén - Husavik (oscars) :) i really wanna know what u think about it :)
Sounds like the same principals as gospel music.
Please react to Chase Holfelder when singing Shallow by Lady Gaga. Its peculiarity is that it has an extraordinary high note that matches the high note of a woman. You will like it after watching it. please watch it
Or praying from kesha
Wow Tara I pray for you every day and I love you stunning I’d love to dance with you and sing a duet with you as well I’d love to meet you someday
JOJO sings with soul
Aretha, Whitney or Mariah must be mentioned 👆
What's the difference between singing with soul & singing with feelings?
I would like to know the difference as well.
Great question. Feelings are like the the gas to the car and soul is like the peddle to the car. (The car is the song). You can’t press the peddle and expect the car to go unless there is gas in the tank. Make sense?
@@Tarasimonstudios thank u i got it ....but both of them have similarities 💜
Ms.Tara Please React to Zephanie Dimaranan I have nothing and it's all coming back😊
tara pls pls pls react to LiSA - GURENGE the first take... I would love to see you react to it
Plz react to My Same by adele vs million years ago by adele
I thought soul was wanna those things where you either you have it or not.
