I absolutely love the Icon Pro. Got it around the time it came out and still use it every day. I noticed they started selling the ETHOS Grille & Pop filter which fits right on the Icon Pro's body seamlessly. It removes pretty much ANY plosives altogether, like you'd have to really try with your lips pressed against the filter and be loud with it for it to come through at all! I also love the sound it has when you add that grille and filter on. Takes off the bad of the top end by muffling(? idk a good term to use lol) it a little bit. Loved the comparison video!
I'm curious about the Ethos, but a very expensive mic for doing RUclips videos and podcasting with. I do miss the icon pro but I am happy with the Lauten
@@TheAudioCzar No, I agree with the ETHOS. I personally don't think its worth the $200 difference but thats just me personally on my voice. and thats awesome, the Lauten sounds amazing!
Definitely different sounding mics. Both great in their own way. You ever try the ethos? After a bit of research I settled on that mic. The clarity of the icon but tuned for broadcast. Beautiful!
My least favorite was the Rode Broadcaster. Just a little bright for my tastes. The Lauten is amazing. Good, rich lows but very even and balanced like you said. Hpf and LPF options are a great touch especially considering the price. Recently picked up a NOS NT1 and really enjoy it. Incredibly clean quite full. The Earthworks is somewhere in the middle. I like it more than the Broadcaster but it's just kinda too flat or melow, if that makes sense. Think the Lauten is on my list. Very cool that it acts kinda like a dynamic and cuts most of the background noise. Excellent comparison man.
Man that LS208 just sounds premium a/f. It has the best parts of the Broadcaster (clarity and forward) and the best parts of the Earthworks (natural mids, pleasant to the ears) mic. Edit: you came to the same conclusion. I am not crazy! hahaha
The Lauten sound isolated to me the broadcaster sound smooth but the icon pro sound more natural like the opposite of the lauten, it sounds alive. I will recommend you try CAD E300S and let me know what you think.

@@TheAudioCzar Have you tried SV33?
Thanks for the review. That 10k lowpass is sweet on the Lauton. Gives an "old school" option. I am buying one.
Excellent video, thank you. I agree totally, L2-208 sounds incredible! I have to go and research this microphone more.

I definitely want to try the Ethos but couldn't see myself spending that for a broadcast mic.
@@TheAudioCzar good point!

Loved the Lauten. Nice and smooth.
Icon and Lauten are my choice. Lauten sounds like it would need less work but that Icon is crisp and museum glass clean.
I recorded a podcast episode using the earthworks before I returned it and I didn't need any post processing to my voice.
@@TheAudioCzar absolutely wondrous! She's a looker, too!

lol. Can't lie I do miss the earthworks, but have been very happy with the Lauten
thx for the video
Can you do a review on the icon pro 251? There are no reviews out there 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@j-perezmusic haven't heard of that one
Lauten sounded the best to me.
