That Broadcaster seems awesome! I gotta check one out someday. But the Procaster plus Cloudlifter keeps winning with me. -Perfect fit with my voice, and no other mic rejects all the random environmental noise which comes with life more effectively while still sounding great.
0:00 That is really awesome camera angle and lighting Epos! It is so bright and crisp at the same time yet not harsh, great job, I like how hairstyle popups because of that too!
In this review, the Rode Broadcaster sounds nothing like Podcastage’s and others’ reviews. It’s actually regarded as one of the better broadcast condenser mics, so hearing it sound like this was, well, weird.
I mean, based on this I would even get the Procaster. Not sure what went wrong but I am not used to how this sound. It's usually much more present than something like an RE20. Even further away.
It sounds that way because he's not as close to the mic as everyone else is. This is one of those mics where it really benefits from that proximity effect. I have one, and it sounds amazing.
This was one of my choices over a shure sm7b, I ended up getting a shure. I'm getting another microphone. They all do and sound different. My partner will never believe that though.
The broadcaster is a condenser, designed to be used from further away. Dynamics are designed to be used closer to the mouth. Secondarily, the RE20 is a "variable-D" microphone, meaning it doesn't suffer from proximity effect and the tonality/sound does not change with distance.
Awesome video. Great to know there is a mic that isn't as dull and dark as the sm7b and has great articulation, as far as mid ranged mics are concerned the sm7b is fine. Both the Earthworks Icon Pro and the RE 20 are good options in this category. The Lauten Audio LS-208 condenser with a sponge pop filter is also another fantastic option in a relatively isolated room. One thing said for the SM7B is that once you plug it in and do a basic EQ it sounds fine, no fuss, more of a plug and play. Its lack of articulation is I think what makes it popular. It loses the articulation so much that it makes everyone sound fine. People's clicks and funny tones are completely lost on the sm7b great for the average person maybe. The Rode Broadcaster is probably a better option on a better voice than most of the dynamics except maybe the RE 20.
It sounds strange. Normally I think it sounds more well rounded when I've heard it before, also remember condensers often give more leeway for EQ. Not always, but generally.
I think your Broadcaster might be set up wrong, I have one and it's very good. Booth Junkie reviewed it and he was very impressed by it, he liked it more than the Shure SM7b
i use broadcaster 2 years with tube preamp uad 610(1200$). Sound very good))) in this video, something is really wrong with the sound, the bottoms and middles are not audible at all. I have a bass-baritone, it is the lower middle that sounds cool in this microphone.
@@EposVox thank you! it looks fantastic! there's almost a slight haze effect with the bokeh and your neon lights. Great visual combo - I'm tempted to pick that lens up for myself now.
I use a se v7, it's a vocal mic but honestly I really like it. It's the mixer I have that I hate a small 2 channel alesis where I have to max out the gain.
Question: when it comes to noise suppression does an xlr connection has an advantage? Your feeding more power to the mic making it sound better but does that mean it will be more sensitive to other background noise? I have the Q2U using it via usb. No xlr interface, wondering if it's worth buying one
This one is a gem, Love it! 1st review that got my eyes on it was from Jared Polin channel (FroKnowsPhoto)...just searched the video again, it was from 2013...wow...
can I just say that hoodie is literally the best thing in existence? I NEED IT.
Love this camera POV going down the garage. You have done *so* much work, looks awesome!
Thank you for another high quality video and that A- cam shot is awesome! It's incredible how much work you and your fam put into that new studio!

If anyone is wondering. At 2:11 that microphone activator is the Soyuz Microphones Launcher
Wow. I love seeing your setup evolve!!! It’s looking amazing!!!
I love this camera angle! The setup is *chefs kiss* so good
If you could ever get your hands on one, I’d love to see more coverage of the OG SM7. Now that’s a damn near perfect mic!

Wow!
Love the FOV!
We use these and the EV RE20 on the radio show and I think the mic sounds great.
Epic Haircut and colors!!!
I watch a guy called: General Sam a lot and he uses the rode broadcaster sounds amazing
mic audio was not equally adjusted. Also you spoke closer in to the RE20. Great Vid. Thank you sir.

For me is the MIC out there under 500€. I use it for podcast, studio, video and is amazing. I can't recommend it enough!
for video? how that?
Not video in the field, sorry if not clear @@Odyseuss08
God EpoxVox, your setup is fuckin amazing. Props!
Thank you! It gets better after this video too
great video! i love your audio reviews. Is this a new angle? what lens/camera combo are you using?? it's super immersive!
Thanks! Here is A7sii and Yongnuo 14mm f2.8, but I’ve already swapped the a7sii back to a7c

Some of that is in post :) gotta go for the real 80s neon arcade feel haha
@@EposVox gotcha - it's a great touch! it's not often my eyes get so surprised and excited by a wide FOV but it entranced me the whole time!

That’s my mic right there. Love it
Great Video 🤙
Tell me please which lens are you using here?
Damn! Love the opening shot. Curious, which lens is this?
It’s the mic I use. And I love it. Shhhh don’t give away my secret!
Is there very low volume rock music playing in the background? What's with all the terrible noise. I can hear it through my monitor's speakers even..
I can get a new one for 150€ should i get it?
I love the sound of the RE20
you have the higpass Filter on?

There’s not inherently a difference, though the audio preamp built in will be worse than a good interface so you could get electrical noise added in
I love that jacket! Where did you get it?
shopmoonlambo.com/
How come I never see akg mics?
I have a question that is not video related.
Which file format do you recommend for recording?
Do you mean in OBS or in general?
@@EposVox OBS

@@EposVox i know but I'm excited for it 😖 ask them to give us a preview
Microphone sound like garbage, but this angle is awesome! What is that lens you are using in this video. Love it. Make a video about it plz.
