Awesome video! Pretty sure I watched another one of you in this spot where a deer crossed the river :) Thanks for the message on picking up shells! I always pick up more shells and wads than I shoot when I hunt public. Wish folks would be more mindful!
Patience patience patience! A well chosen and set place (not the first time you recorded one, you were at the deer crossing!) So well broken background that they won't even jump when you stand up! You always gave them a fair chance but your combination of ammunition, gauge, choke selected for the task always impresses me in these different circumstances, efficiency and performance on the critter, no unnecessary suffering! What a good example that I will try to practice here in North Carolina where it's more like 12 ga, 3&1/2 ", #2steel and wounded or turn up "victims"... Bismuth and TSS18! Shot responsibility and respect of wildlife (and bismuth is good for YOUR stomach digestion, so if geese and ingest some good for them too, not poisonous as lead is!) Thanks for sharing, and to look from a sick 😷 bedroom! Saturday morning will be duck hunting!🎉 Happy New Year to all of you that are watching this entertaining and informative video 📸
Nice hunt and thank you for advocating for hulls collection. Some spots are really bad and it shouldn't be hard to take them back if you can bring them loaded.
I have that same problem with birds not getting up, but lately I just keep a few small stones next to me in the blind and throw that in the water. They’ve always jumped up for me doing that!
Enjoyable hunt. How are you liking that Ethos SuperSport? I bought a 20 ga earlier this year and I really like it and I seem to shoot it pretty well so far. I bought it primarily for skeet but I bought some Hevi 12 6’s so I might try to shoot a few ducks and roosters with it next year.
Hi Matt, I know you love boss shells but you should check out apex ammunition. Great deals and even greater people you should do a pattern and hunt review comparing them to boss. Nice drakes.
@@HighPrairieSportsmen try the s3 steel they claim u can shoot ducks geese and cranes with it. Ask them to sponsor you and they'll get some new customers from ur video.
Love the vid just an fyi that might be a zebra hen pin. we shoot them often here in cali, they are old hens that loose there estrogen and start looking like a drake. I could be wrong but it kinda looked like it.
Do you ever rifle hunt? By the numbers of deer and antelope you encounter during duck season you should easily be able to tag out as a bonus to all of them ducks.

Thanks! Drives me nuts seeing shells and trash on both private and public.
Great Hunt ! Quite a productive blind !

Appreciate it! Hate seeing trash out in nature
Surprisingly one of the better videos I’ve seen and your soloing it. Hard to find a good duck video sometimes
Appreciate it!
Well done👍🏻🦆
Thanks!

Good idea!
Good job on PSA about picking up shell casing….
Thanks!

Not a bad day at all 👍🦆
Definitely not!
Отличная охота👌
С Новым годом 🤝🎉

Thanks! I'll have to try them out

I'm new duck hunting and I was wondering what duck calls/ goose calls you use or what are some good beginner duck/goose calls?
I use the Zink Power Hen and Polk Pattern Calls whistle

Interesting
Might need a metal detector for that 2nd Mallard, looks like you hit every shot.🤣 Make a nice meal with those.
Haha adds a nice crunch.
How do you compare your Ethos to the Tristar (28) guage?
Ethos is way better. Had a lot of issues with the Tristar.
Matt are you still shooting Boss shells or do you use other brands also ?
Yep. Boss 2 3/4" 6s
Great afternoon hunt, always enjoy your videos. Will be reaching out to you regarding purchasing a 28 gauge like the one you used today. Thanks again!
Appreciate it! I'll keep an eye out

Yep. Been deer hunting for 20 years now. Just bagged my first antelope last year
Why dont you film those hunts also?

What is your legal hour? Ontario, 1/2 hr before sunrise, 1/2 after sunset. Good afternoon hunt with 28.
Thanks Cooper! 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset.
@@HighPrairieSportsmen you would have two or three of those if 1/2 after sunset, eh?
@@coopernickerson7470 at least one
One day I’ll get my pintail up here in Montana
Good luck!
Why were you wanting him to jump up prior to the shot?
Prefer to take them in the air
@@HighPrairieSportsmen okay I was unsure if maybe that was a law wherever you are
Are you using full choke?
Mod
What shells and choke you using ?
Factory mod, Boss 2 3/4" 6s
Greeting from Colorado ! Good Hunting! I have a lot of respect for people who abide by the rules and regulations.
Thanks!
4:05 there’s nothing wrong with water swatting especially if you give them a chance 👍
Bingo

👍🏻
Shot my first bluebill there
Nice!
Enjoy your videos until you turn into a hillbilly duck hunter shooting them on the water!!!
I try to give them ample opportunity to jump up but have no qualms taking them if they don't after awhile.
