    The car I bought from someone had LED's installed in their Xenon projector housing but the LED's had a dual beam separated by 180 degrees. This creates a weird split effect when you look at the projector directly because you have two sources of light coming out of the LED and getting projected. Took me forever to understand why my headlights looked the way they did but this video really helped.

    Hello. In the case of a Dual Beam Headlight Bulb, can it operate low and high beam at the same time ?, is it safe for the bulb ?

    • @ESPLTD322
      @ESPLTD322 3 года назад

      So some cars will do it if you pull back on the brightening stock and hold it back, rather than pushing it forward. It’ll do dim and high at the same time. Our old Taurus did it. But my crown Vic won’t, unless you pull back to brighten, let it go back to dim, and then pull back again immediately. It only does it about one second though. I imagine it would burn out the bulb twice as quick, but I used to do it all the time, and never had to change it. So I guess it depends on which car you have.

    In my toyota corolla 1997 (dual filament headlight bulb) , low beam works fine. (one fillamant lights up) but when i turn high beam, both filaments light up,

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  5 лет назад +1

      With the 1997 Corolla I would only be concerned about your high beam function if it causes a problem like an error/warning light on the dash, or some other issues. But if your high beam is as bright as you think it is, having the low beam stay on with high beam is not really a problem - in fact it's a desirable trait that some people force to have happen through custom wiring.
      If you're really concerned about it I would try some different bulbs. Your car takes an H4 style bulb and should have very simple straight forward wiring, and these generation Toyota cars are known for being extremely simple. The most likely cause of the malfunction is something wrong with that particular headlight bulb. Try a different brand like GTR Lighting or Morimoto because we know those do not have those problems.

      @@HeadlightRevolution thank you. After reading your comment, i went and check with the local mechanic. My doubt was right. It was short conducting.
      The problem was : previous owner had LED lights, but they were cheap quality and also the relay's were bad quality.
      What we did : we removed all the extra wiring work done by the previous owner and plugged the new Halogen H4 bulbs to the original socket. Now it works fine. Just like how it should be.

    How does auto leveling works? Does the bulb moves or the reflector moves?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  5 лет назад

      Great question!
      Auto-leveling headlights are controlled by a motor on the back of the headlight that moves the reflector.
      Generally, the headlight is floating on 3 axis, and one of the axis is an arm from the motor. Each axis is a ball joint, which allows the movement.

    I am wondering about the 9007 halogen. Does the low beam filament stay ON when the high beam is activated? I'm installing a projector unit where it moves a piece up for the "high beam" so I need the lowbeam filament to stay ON while clicking the high beam "opens the door" letting more light out. Similar to that electro magnetic bulb you showed, just moves to let more light.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  6 лет назад

      Some dual beam bulbs only illuminate one filament at a time, and others illuminate both filaments during high beam. It's not that uncommon.

    • @5RIKA5
      @5RIKA5 5 лет назад

      If you’re doing a projector retrofit with the hi-low function you might just need single filament and wire the hi-low shield to the hi beam wire so when you turn on the hi beam it will lower the shield and let out more light. Like he said it won’t change the brightness of the light but the pattern instead to give you more light down the road.
