By the time they made a close up shot on her eyes, they though "oh sh*t. How are we going to end this?" So they just cut to the part where the stars explode and voila! She's all dressed up.
Its the same transformation with added effects lol. All the transformations are. That's why it boggles my mind so much. Its the same animations just modernized.
As an artist , you can definitely appreciate howtalented the older artists are . Every single dot and line that connect her body part give her curves , effortless movement and fluid motion from her limbs and body . The colors and contrast is amazing , as a whole Venus looks more graceful and elegant compare to the modern version , which is just bling , bling and more bling and it lacks Souls . Even Naoko has to admit , she just can't find the old artist like last time . The new version is very forgettable amid the sea of Anime found on the industry thesedays.

The henshin in Crystal is my least like. It's too lengthy with unnecessary movements. The henshin animations in that season are kinda awkward too. But in the first season of Crystal, I really like Venus's henshin. It's just beautiful and fits her character very well.
Both of Venus's transformations have a lot of personality in them, but there's something about the slightly sad, solemn expression of the Crystal version's face that makes me like her a lot more. All the new Crystal transformations are just glorious!

gahh... they did her (my fav inner guardian) so dirty for her season 3 transformation... the animators really just ran out of ideas and said "let's just have her shit stars all over the place, and then have her look constipated at the end where she poses"..... like, seriously... WHY did they EVER think that her looking grumpy after her transformation... it looks bad not just because it doesn't fit her personality, it just looks bad, on the whole as an idea

I never complained about those 2D or 3D things before, but I think they should use her 3D transformation from the last two arcs for her Planet Power transformation. This one is quite stiff and inactive, and that skating movement in the first scene is just the same as Mercury's. Also, at some moments it's hard to distinguish her body from the stars.

I like her Crystal version better because it's longer and different. It's not trying to be like the original nor like the transformation of the first two seasons. It used to annoy the back out of me that Sailor Moon used to get these 1 minute transformation sequences and everyone else got the same 15 second ones with very little changes. You would think that at least the Inner Soldier 's would get something different but no. We got 5 seasons of same old same old.

I thought its such a pity that the new transformation has so much more technology to help draw the anime but its sucks balls compare to the one from 90's... the one in 90's are much more smooth and detailed. that includes the color, shading, line art etc... vert sloppy 2016 transform... plainly sad and disappointing. not to mention the 2014 was even a bit better than the new one but still never as good as old ones.
I'm going to be honest I like the cgi transformations better than the to the ones they're really ugly, I wish they kept the cgi if they knew how to use it better it would have been such a good aspect

The spin in Crystal is something, accelerating and deaccelerating randomly. So janky. The original looks more graceful in my opinion.
I'm not a fan of the extreme forced perspective they had in Crystal. All of the sailors looked like they had floppy noodle arms and legs.
